    • Snyder1329

They used to be free! Oh well- $1 still is a good deal.

      • Qponemail0080

Two and under are still free

        • BellaQ

Unfortunately, those two and under can't enjoy the film or make it difficult for everyone else to enjoy the film. :-)

          • beepampered

Oh, I have a 2 year old and missed all the free movies last year when he couldn't sit through it. Hopefully, this year he won't be too bothersome.

Can you buy the tickets ahead of time?

          • Lucy

Agreed. I, my husband, and my mom tried to take my 2 year old to the movies on several occasions, still no success lol

          • Amanda

Ha! I plan on using these $1 movies to help teach my 2 year old how to sit through and enjoy a “real” movie! :)

    • jmomof3

These Summer movies were always free in my town. I understand $1 is still cheap for a movie but with a family of 5 it can get pretty expensive. We did these every week for the past 2 summers now I guess it won't be a every week occurance for us. Oh well

      • MustangLadyred

I totally agree…we saw the movies every week last year……but with a family of 4 it will be too much to go twice a week all summer long!!

    • Julierichbourg

I wish they would have kept this as a free family event.

      • MustangLadyred

Me too….we went to ALL the movies last year!!

      • Franklinjil

I so agree.  With a large family, $1 eventually adds over the several weeks.

    • I can't believe people are complaining about it being a dollar.  Movies are an average of $10 a ticket now, so I think this is great.

      • Katie B.

Well, I think the real difference is that these are not new release movies.  You can pick them up at redbox for a dollar and all six of my kids can watch them.  We went last year to a bunch of them because we could get the “going to the movies” experience, which we NEVER get, for free.  But honestly, for the $7 it will cost me and my kids to go, I'll definitely opt for redbox.  Now for a new release, I'd be thrilled to pay $7!

    • Goofynews

Many small towns have free summer movies and concerts outdoors. You can usually bring your own snacks and drinks, just don't bring glass. Check your local papers and call your local government offices to find out.

      • Sundaydrive00

Not even just small towns. There are a number of parks around Charlotte that have summer outdoor movies, as well as summer concerts.

    • Lucy

Even for a $1, still a very good deal. We are lucky to have a theater very close. I have young kids, and at least for this price, I won't have to feel bad if we have to walk out when kids misbehave. And I am sorry to say this, but for those who are complaining about this being too much for a family of 5, 7, 10… mmm, everythiing costs too much for larger families. Think about how much you would pay at regular prices.

      • Sundaydrive00

But its not new release movies that are $1. Its movies that are already out on dvd. It has nothing to do with the price of a regular, new release movie. Its more of a why go to the theater to watch the movie when I can go to redbox (or blockbuster express) and use a promo code to watch the movie for free. Or for the price of a family of 5+ you could probably find most of the movies on sale for the same price.

      • Franklinjil

My complaint is that they are now charging a $1 when this used to be a free event.

      • Katie B.

Redbox doesn't cost more for large families.

$1 is still a good deal but when you add gas to get there, which is a decent distance for us, I guess we won't go every week like we have in the past!

    • Ap17182

We have a $1 movie theater  close by so I think we will just stick to it.

    • WMuse522

Do you have to print this off for each person to use or is it just $1 when you walk up to pay? If you dohave to print it, is there a limit on how
Many? I'm on my phone or I'd check:)

      • jmomof3

No prints. They do this every summer and it is in certain movies on certain days at 10am. When you walk up you select the movie and then pay.

    • Denise

The ad shows Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but the Florence Theater shows Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Anybody know which is correct?  The site also says you can order the tickets ahead of time online and just present to the ticket window when you get there.

    • Safiyyah_wright2000

      great

    • Elizabeth

Go on a Tuesday to the movies and then hit Applebees where kids eat free all day ! or Raising Cane has 99cent kids meals on mondays & tuesday in Charleston!

    • oneplustwins

I saw this earlier on Atlanta on the Cheap, but I haven't seen a list of movies…where can I see that?

    • famom

      Man…those used to be free.

      • momof4

Cobb Movie Theaters offer free kids movies weekday mornings in the summer.

    • Ajladd

In Central Florida at The Loop, Ben & Jerry's next door does $1 single scoop on both days.  Too bad the movies aren't free anymore but $1 is second best.

    • Shanna

Carmike is also doing a $1 deal on Thursdays!

    • Shellyd

Yes, but it states that a portion of the proceeds goes to benifit The Will Rogers Institute, which is a charitable foundation supporting research in asthma, tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases. Considering SO many kids have asthma  these days,a good cause.

    • Anna

Thanks Jenny!  I have gone to several of these movies over the past few summers with my kids and they love going!  And I don't mind paying $1 per person at all!
