So, does this look good? We are a family of 4 (2 small children under 6), how many papers should I buy? Last weekend- my first at couponing, I bought 2. Thanks for any help and advice.

      • ireneY

I think Jenny recommends buying as many papers as people in your household. Two is a good start. I have found most of the matchups are printables rather than from the inserts. If you want more of a particular q, they can always be had at a clipping service. Happy couponing!

      • guest

I subscribe 2 papers every sunday. when i find some good coupons i just go to ebay or clipping service website to get multiple coupons. you dont have to buy many papers it cost too much.

      • Take a few minutes to look through the coupons, some times I find good stuff some times not so much. Also let friends and co workers know, what you need. I always ask for cat food. You would be suprized how many people will help:)

      • Kat

welcome to the couponing world :-)

      • LeAnn McKenzie Lewis

I would buy 1 for each member of your family, but if you were an odd number, round it up. ALWAYS get an even amount of papers, for buy 1 get 1 sales. When you go buy your papers, always look through each one before you leave the store to make sure the inserts are in the paper. We explained to the cashier at the gas station what we were doing when she looked at us funny, now she expects it, and knows we arent trying to steal the inserts. Which apparently some people do.

I get additional papers at CVS when I need to add to my purchase to get the percentage off, or $4.00 off $20.00 deal that CVS runs several times a month. That way my purchase counted for something.

      • SuzyQ13

You are going to love how much money you will save! Look at the Q’s determine what you will use make sure the amount of q’s you will use exceeds the cost of the paper. If you shop at a store that accepts competitor’s Q’s account for those as well. I buy 2-6 papers per week. It’s a little work and confusing at first but after you get the hang it you will save a ton of money! All the people on here will help u with any qeustions….Welcome and enjoy!

I have had success getting coupon booklets out of recycling bins. usually average 4 or5 booklets a week.. Just an idea. The people are throwing them out by the road., so I figure I dont even have to buy a paper.

      • I have a family of 6. I always buy a double paper, and if I see a specific coupon deal and I want more then I will order only that coupon,

    • Kristy

Does anyone know if the Chalotte Observer or Atlanta Constitution are available anywhere in the Lexington SC area?

    • JLDUB

If I missed a coupon where can I find one if there are no printables? Is there anyother websites?

    • Heather

Michael S Always buy even numbers! And it really depends what coupons are in it and if you’ll use them. I like 4 or 6 copies for my family of 4+ we always have extra people here eating!

    • Renee

I am a newbie at couponing. Did it for the first time tonight! It was a rush to save money. All this time, I was spending money when coupons were right there to save me! I have a stupid question…what is a clipping service?

      • Brittany

its when you can purchase a bulk amount of coupons through a site. They charge only for “labor” of cutting the coupons. Its good when you know there’s going to be a great deal in coming weeks.

        • Renee

What sites are they? Thank you

          • lynn

i like thecouponclippers (dotcom) and the coupon master (dotcom) and couponbeat (dotcom) i have used all of these and never had an issue getting my coupons. like brittany said they are really handy if there is something you really want to stock up on and you just want one or two types of coupons instead of buying 10 papers with coupons that you will not use.

    • MGreen

My Raleigh News and Observer did not have a Smart Source book in it. Did anyone else have this problem?

    • NoYoMoCo

No Smart Source insert in the Daily Press in Virginia – I get four papers and none of them had SS. :(

    • Dallas Morning News–Outlying areas has both SS and RP

    • busymom2three

For the past 2 weeks my Greenville News has had no coupon inserts. Has anyone else had this happen? I know that there should have been inserts (because my brother delivers papers). Hopefully I can locate some inserts from family or friends who don’t use their coupons.

    • help no smart source in the FL times union :(

Did anyone get a BOGO on Schick razors? My Rite Aid flyer says, “BOGO coupon in most Sunday papers” but I didn’t get one.
