Ugh. We don’t have a Harris Teeter in Columbia, and I don’t have a trip planned to C-Town anytime soon. I’ll be in NC later in the week, but not in time for the triple!

I just went to the new Harris Teeter in Indian Land (outside of Lancaster). Had a very good experience they were all friendly and my cashier told me about her coupon savings and at the service desk they will give you 4- $10.00 off coupons to spend 1 a week for 4 weeks if your total after coupons is $40.00 or more.(I think just at this Harris Teeter because it was grand opening) My total before coupons was $196.00 I paid $70.00 and got a ton of fresh produce and fresh meat that totaled $40.00 of the $70.00 and a huge buggy of free things.

I just bought 5 restaurant.com gift certificates (2 – $10, and 2 – $25, 1 – $50) for a total cost to me of $13.80
WOW. Note, can only use 1 per party, per month. So I get to eat out at a nice steak place once a month for the next 5 months – not bad!

You are right it is 2 “like” coupons per day. So you could have used 50 printables 2 like coupons for 25 products! The cashiers there are easily confused by this rule though so be ready to stand firm every time you go.

Regarding the “do not double” issue, I had a Glory Seasoned Beans coupon ($.75/2) that they tripled for me (afterwards I saw it said not to double). However, they would not let me triple the J.Dean breakfast bowls! All of my coupons start with a 5.

Is there any information on how to read the barcode so I can know better?

Jenni, I went this afternoon with my fist full of coupons (several were internet coupons) . One of the assistant customer service managers rang me up. He told me that he could only take two internet coupons, “which ones did I want to use today”. I picked out two, figuring I could use the others another day here and there the next week.

When looking at the Harris Teeter Website though, it reads:

“With the purchase of two like manufacturer’s products, we accept two internet coupons, per store, per day.”

To me the wording states that they take only two LIKE internet manufacturers coupons a day, not just two internet coupons period.

So, I am curious too what others might have experienced with this. Kind of sounds like this person that checked me out misunderstood the fine print, unless things are different on triple coupon week. Sort of makes me want to print out the guidelines from their site and go back…but nothing I was buying was anything I had to have RIGHT NOW and worth a crusade. It just would have been nice to be able to use all I intended to use in one trip.

Has anyone ever experienced a store cleaning out the shelves of free items? This morning was very odd for me. I was in HT 45 min before triples began and six of my items were not on the shelves. I still got some great deals!! Thank you.

They used to give overage, but now the value of the coupon is automatically changed to give the item to you free and no overage!

As long as the coupons barcode starts with a 5 it should automatically triple or double. Ive heard of some cashiers manually overiding the automatic part but most do not. The computer looks for the 5 and if the coupon value is within the doubling/tripling range and does it.

Some of the internet coupons (Halls, Betty Crocker) say “do not double/triple”. Do they still triple these?

Has anyone had the problem that the store will not triple the coupon even though the coupon does not state that you cannot double or triple? At the HT in our area they say tripling the coupon will be more than the value of the item so they will only allow $1.00. Does anyone else have this problem?
