I spent almost 3 hours in Kmart today. I had coupons for everything for 1 item. I was very pleased until I got my receipt. I then asked the sales lady if she had doubled my coupons. She said she had. It was a lot more than I was thinking it should be. I was worn out and it was really hot in there. So, I said ok and left. When I got home and settled. I got my receipt out and checked it. And NO she had not doubled my coupons at all. So, I was cheated out of over $30.00. Boy am I upset. This was the first time I had ever tried to double any coupons. I spent alot of time getting the coupons ready. and making a list of every coupon and how many coupons I had. Plus the time I spent in the store. SO BE VERY CAREFUL. IF I SOUNDS TO MUCH. NO MATTER HOW LONG THE LINE OR WAIT. CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU GET OUT OF LINE. OR YOU COULD BE WAISTING YOUR TIME ALSO.

Why does the add say 75 coupons will be doubled and this post say 25? I’ve seen varying reports all over the web on the amount. Any ideas?

I thought that they took 75 coupons per person, per day? Does anyone have a link to where it says how many coupons they accept at a time? Thanks!

I believe their policy changed the day the last Kmart super doubles started (2/22 – see press release http://www.searsholdings.com/pubrel/kmart/02162009.pdf). During that time I used many Internet printables and they doubled and worked just as paper coupons did!

I’m so mad our KMart isn’t offering the double coupons here in Cleveland, TN. I emailed them to see why all the KMarts don’t offer it. And I told them how unfair it is :( !!!!!!!!!!!

I just called the KMart number from their website. I asked if internet printables would double and they said they had nothing in writing to say the prinables would not double. Besides, how would the register know to double it or not? Can the register tell if a printable was scanned? I doubt it.

The lady on the phone said a weird thing – she read to me from something she had: “Kmart will not accept a printable coupon for 75% of the items value, for example if an item costs $2.75 and the coupon is for $2.00 off, Kmart will not accept the printable coupon because it is most likely not valid.”

Strange, huh? Especially since they offer the $5 Huggies coupon on their website which would definitely be 75 % off of the price if they went on sale.

What is wrong with their management? No other company I have dealt with is this inept. Plus the lady on the phone had to check three times after I persisted to find out that they even take internet printables. Nice.

Thanks everyone for you comments. I have been doing really great at Kroger and Publix! Just haven’t got my feet very wet at walgreens, RiteAid and CVS yet! Will probably stay put this go around.

In the doubles ad from 2/22 it says no internet coupons will be doubled. I can’t read the print in the red block for this add. I just chose to prepare you for the worst case rather than having folks frustrated that they didn’t double. We’ll see come Sunday when everyone can read the print :)

With the KMart doubling deal… Do coupons that double to more than the value of the product work? In other words, does the computer automatically just bring it up to the price of the product or is it going to beep and cause craziness?

Hi Stephanie! I live in Nashville…would you be coming to the KMart in Madison? Anyway, I would have to agree with Shannon, don’t bother with KMart.

Kroger and Publix are the best places for coupons on a consistent basis. If you are new to couponing, I would focus on one or both of those stores.

I personally would not drive an hour away to go to Kmart. They jack their prices way up to do this. And lots of time the shelves are cleared of the really good deals. Unless you are planning on being there when they open their doors the first day. And then still there can be things that they are just out of. Someone may be able to tell you more about your area.

Kmart’s policy on Internet printables changed in February and they have accepted them since then. Does it say anywhere on the ad that they have stopped accepting them for this doubles promotion?

Hi, I am new to couponing. I notice that I have a Kmart about 1 hour away from me that is doubling this coming week. Would it be worth my drive and can I make multiple transactions. I would be going to the one in Clarksville, Tn. Anyone out there who has shopped there? Being new this is kindof scary…lol. Thanks for any help.

Be careful on the $$ off 2 or $$ off 3 coupons. They will not double to the full amount. For example the $1.50 off 3 Hershey’s will only double to the value of the first item ($2.33) not to $3.

Also, despite the fact that Kmart is now accepting printables, this add says they will not double the IPs. Some cashiers will take them, but not all.
