THIS NEWBIE NEEDS HELP. Jenny thank you so much for this site. I'm single and have recently lost my job. So everyone penny counts. I've tried 4 different Walgreens this week to do the Dry Idea deal. It's on clearance for $2.29 and I have (2) $2 off coupons. I SHOULD get (2) $2RRs. Make a long story short. I use my (2) $2 off coupons and pay cash for the remaining. My RRs don't print out. I ask the cashier why they didn't print out. She doesn't know. I go home and call the Catalina phone number and Carla told me that the RR will not print IF you spend less money on each item then what the RR will be. Since the Dry Idea was 29 cents after the coupon and the RR was $2. You don't get the RR. I don't understand. Earlier this week I bought Crest that is on clearance for 95 cents used a 75 cents coupon and got my $1RR. I'm confused. Has this happened to anyone? Like I've said I'm new to couponing and thinking about giving up on couponing. So much effort for nothing in return. HELP!!!

I tried to do the Glade "free + overage" today. I went to every Wags in a 10 mile radius & only 1 store had 2 Sense & Sprays left. The Wags I went to (Nashville area) would NOT allow me to get the overages!! She did the B1G1 coupon for $3.99 (the original amount of the item LESS the $4 coupon) instead of the full $7.99. I was able to get the items for free, but did not get the $8.00 overage as listed. (I did my coupons in this order: Walgreens Q, B1G1, mfg Q. I realize if I would've done this differently it would've worked better. Oh well.)

Beth, I was able to get a rain check for all items. The coupons expire 3/21, so you should be able to go back this week & get them before the 21st.

Also, in the 2 Sense & Spray boxes I got there were $3/1 coupons.

I have been to every WAG within 20 miles of my home this week. No one has the Sense and Spray or the Lasting Impressions. Is this a monthly or wekly deal? Also, if I get a raincheck, will the $4 store Q still work?
Also, I heard back from WAG corporate on the issue I had the other day with the cashier telling me they could only let people purchase items 1 time per day, and limit all items to 1. Turns out that is not true!! Haha, I knew that. As for the limit thing, the mgr was quite surprised when I went back to the store to talk to him and as we were talking the new WAG radio commercial came on over the loud speaker. At the end of the commercial, the lady says "feel free to clean off our shelves". The manager stopped mid sentence and said "ma'am go get what you want". I thought I was going to pee my pants laughing. So if they give you grief about buying several of one item, you might want to tell them you have heard the new commercial!

Amanda, I did get beeped on the Coffeemate BOGO transaction. I ended up getting 2 for $1 after using 1 1.5 off. The cashier said the computer would not allow it because I can't get money off an item that's free. I suspect others have had this problem, but other cashiers maneuver around the system. She either wasn't willing or didn't know how. As for the penny over on the Garnier, a cashier at a different store adjusted the coupon for 99 cents so I could get it. She explained what she was doing and I was grateful. I think I'll be going to that store again to see if other cashiers are as friendly, even though it's a little farther away.

I just wanted to say thank you all SO much. I got 2 packs of Huggies, a 12 pk of Cottonelle, 2 Coffee Mates, and Colgate Toothpaste for around $7.50 (pre tax)after you add in RR.I could've saved more money doing 3 Huggies instead, but we needed Cottonelle. I am so excited and on such a bargain high. I can tell this is going to get so addicting!

A couple additional comments to add to the ones I'd left previously:
1. No matter how many coupons you have, you will always have o pay sales tax on the items purchased. So if you have coupons that cover all but $10 of your subtotal, and you try to pay for the rest of the balance with a $10 RR, you probably won't be able to use the RR unless you have a sufficient # of "filler" items to cover the sales tax total generated by all items.
2. Walgreens managers have told me that you cannot pay for an item that generates an RR (e.g., Huggies) with a previously issued RR and still have the new RR print out. That seems to be their official position; however, while that works out to be true for some purchases, it's not true for all. Today, I tried cashing in some RRs for more Huggies, thinking that I would just use up my RRs generated by previous Huggies purchases. Surprise, surprise, I got MORE RRs! So there does seem to be sporadic exceptions to the rule.
3. The Huggies coupons seem to be working on ANY Huggies products as I've bought diapers and wipes, Gentle Care, Calming Touch, Natural Fit, and a couple others. No beeping on anything.
4. Leigh's comment about the Glade restrictions does seem to be a new policy. I went in today armed with B1G1 coupons AND mfg coupons that would have applied to the one purchased. Rationale was to use the B1G1 to pay for the second item and the mfg coupon for the first item. But mgmt said essentially what Leigh encountered, that the use of a B1G1 coupon applies to both items, not just the one received free.

Anyway, for what it's worth.

I did the diaper deal (4 times) today. First time I got one package of the Gentle Care diapers and 2 of the other kind, snuggly or something. They all went thru with no problem, and $10 RR printed.

2nd time, I didn't get any Gentle Care kind, but 3 of the other kind. Two of the $5 coupons worked, then the 3rd one beeped. The cashier said it will only take so many, I said I bought $30 worth of diapers, and besides, it just worked a few minutes ago. He knew that, so he put it thru.

3rd and 4th times I got 1 bag of the Gentle Fit with each, and then the other Huggies, and had no beeping. Got $10 RRs with no problem.

I didn't get my $10 RR on the 2nd transaction because I wasn't paying attention and accidently used the $10 RR I had just gotten from trans. 1, instead of the one from the Dove deal I did last week.
The manager let me "return" the diapers for a refund and re-buy them and the RR printed out.

At first he kept trying to do an exchange instead of return, and the RRs wouldn't print out. Then he doubted there was even such a deal, and went to look for himself. Then he decided it was because I had to spend $25 to get the RR, but I had only spent like $7.
I said well, that'd be a good theory, but I just did this same deal three other times and the RRs all printed out. I know it is because I accidently used the diaper RR to pay for it.

Finally he did as I asked and did the return and re-rang them up and I got my $10 RR.

Jenny,

When the RR didn’t print for my dove purchase (read that it is still working on the soap?), the manager said he wasn’t aware of this deal, and he called another store mgr. and they also knew nothing. He said he would honor the deal if I could show him proof (in print) My question is: Is there a place where you can print what the RR deals are?

Thanks in advance and for all your hard work!

If your Walgreen's won't take printables you can go to the Sambucol site and complain about not being able to use their printable at your Walgreens. They sent me the $4 coupon by mail. I also had sent an email to Walgreens about the cashier being rude about the printable I had and mentioned the Sambucol site even links to Walgreens site...they never sent anything back about coupon policies.

Melanie, I think most states charge tax no matter what your coupon savings. I got a coupon for a free bag of Pepperidge Farm cookies, but Food Lion in Blackstone, Virginia charged me tax and claimed it was state policy (Commonwealth of Virginia, not Food Lion).

Just found a printable Dry Idea coupon for $2 that makes the Walgreens Dry Idea special this week actually a money maker. As original price is $2.99 with a $2 printable and a $2 RR as stated above. Haven't tried it yet, but going tomorrow.

I'm thinking that some people may be getting the Huggies RR to print with only 3 packs because they are also buying one or more of the other items in the offer (Kleenex, Poise, Kotex, Scott tissue, or Cottonelle) that keep their post-coupon total over $25. Just a theory, but since I'll also be buying Kleenex for my daughter's class, I'll be testing it out this week.

BTW, the Wal-Zyr is $5.99 for a 5ct pack at my store, so not free after rebate. We go through that stuff like crazy in my house full of allergy sufferers, so even at $2 it's better than full price.

Jenny,

DH is yelling that he needs the computer. Will the $5 Huggies coupon work on any diaper? That's my question. Gentle Care's only go up to 2 and I need bigger sizes than that!

Just wne to my Walgreens today and was going to get the Lasting Impressions AND the Sense and Spray as I had a $4 off manufacturer's coupon for each. I was going to stack this with the Walgreen's $4 coupon they had in their rebate book. I would have then received both items free. I was told I had to choose one or the other that they were told by the manufacturer that they are no longer allowed to stack those. According to the cashier it was something relatively new. Has anyone else had this happen? I had some other stuff I was getting, so it wasn't an issue with the total being $0. In the end I didn't get them. Just curious if this is a new thing for them. I have never had that happen before when I stacked a Walgreens and a manucturer's coupon.

I went last night to get Huggies. I bought three packs, used three $5 off coupons, and the total was $17 and some change. I did NOT get RR!!

The cashier said it was because my total was less than $25 after coupons.

Thus, I called over a manager, asked for a refund AND my coupons back. He did it, no problem. I then bought 5 packs of Huggies, used five $5 off coupons and got my $10 RR.

It ended up being around $3 a pack. Just SO confusing that some Walgreens will spit out RR after buying just 3 packs, and some Walgreens won't!

Thanks guys you are awesome.

Terri or anyone else,

Terri did a greay job. I have a question with 5. Our Walgreens stores accept one EZSaver coupon for ALL items purchased, but if using mfg or printed coupons, you must have one coupon per item purchased. My plan is to buy 2 of the same product. I have 2 coupons and 1 ezsaver coupon or do I need to have 2 ezsaver coupons.

It can be used on anything in the store except tobacco, alcohol, prescriptions and stamps. It seems lately most Walgreens employees are clueless...
