I am great friends with a Publix manager in my area. The fact of the matter is...each manager is allowed to set their own policy on competitor's coupons, because it comes out of their pocket. They don't get reimbursed by corporate for taking competitor's coupons. At my friends store, we can use FL, target, bi-lo, and even Super K. So, you just have to find the manager in your area that is looking for high sales volume, because he/she will be the one excepting any and all competitor's coupons.

On a lighter note 8-)...My Target has Arm and Hammer Essentials on clearance for $1.38. Combine that with the $1 of 1 coupon from ArmandHammer.com and you get a great deal on some cleaner! I visit the Target in Taylors, SC, so, YMMV. The Biz Stain Booster...I think that's what it's called...is also on clearance for $3.98 and I had $2.50 coupons from SmartSource. Happy hunting!

I live in Covington, Ga and have 3 publix stores within a 15 minutes ride and All 3 of them have different take on the coupon policy. We do not have a food lion or a super target close by, one does not take any, one takes target and one takes both.

I go to the different stores based on what I am shopping for. I usually get really good deals and if they have a problem with one oof my q's I take it back and have them take off that item. A different day, a different cashier and I get my item.

I am in there at least 3 times a week. I have to pass it to get to my kids school and back home. : )

There is another great deal at supertarget that I took advantage of for the memorial day cookouts. The Gold N Plump chicken family packs have a $1.50 off manufacturers coupon at the website below
http://www.goldnplump.com/coupon.cfm?page=Grill&cid=1234
There is also a $1 off Target coupon for Gold N Plump Chicken
http://www.organicgrocerydeals.com/forums/view.php?pg=coupon_generator
I bought two family packs of chicken thighs at $4.99 and it was almost a b1g1 free deal!!! Got lots of chicken for $5 + tax!!!

Katherine-I think you should email Publix about a mfg Q being adjusted down-the mgr at my store has said that because Publix is getting the full amount they always pass that on to the customer. I understand that they would do that with a competitor Q because they arent getting reimbursed for those but not for a Mfg Q. IMO that is coupon fraud on their part!

I say respect what the coupon reads, so one print, means use in a shopping trip in my opinion. New Hope Publix has never adjusted my coupons until yesterday.

HI,
I have a target coupon question... My Publix does allow Target and FL coupons (Yeah for my food bill!) but I want to make sure I am using good coupon etiquette , Should I limit myself to using one target match for a specific item per my entire transaction?

For instance, there is a Target $2/2 Morningstar products. These are usually about $4 each and hardly ever go on sale. Can I buy 10 and use 5 coupons? I haven't been able to locate that Summer Savings magazine at Publix with the $1 manufact. coupon. Maybe I'll get lucky & they'll go on sale soon :@)

The Eddy's ice cream deal was so good that I made a couple of trips to publix this week while out running errands but if I could have done 2 in a transaction that would have been nice!

Thanks!

There is a Super Target that is 100 yards from this Publix, so they are definitely a competitor. I have contacted the corporate office via email and phone. I appreciate everyone's input.

Thanks! That is great to know! I have a co-worker whose daughter works Customer Service at the New Hope Publix that said they DON'T accept Food Lion coupons. Good to know I can use them! I go to the Seven Hills Publix anyway because they allow overage and are rarely busy! The New Hope Publix has always adjusted my coupons to prevent overage, even if it is a manufacturers coupon where they get reimbursed for the full amt...i.e the Pedigree Dentastix coupon was adjusted down to the sale price although the manu coupon will be reimbursed at $2.50. The Seven Hills Publix allows the overage.

I used Target coupons at my Publix today with no problem. The Target is across the street, Kroger is 1/2 mile down the street and there is a new FL less than 2 miles away, so there is a lot of competition in our area.

Coupon Confused -- I have only had 1 bad coupon encounter at my Publix and I e-mailed corporate when I got home and by morning I received a call from them apologizing and never again has anything like that happened... However I do agree completely that you can not use 2 Bogo coupons to get them for free, you have to buy something to get something for free, which is specifically states on the coupon. By the way these are $1.96 at Wal-Mart for a 2 pack, which makes them 98 cents a pack and I think it's a great deal! I bought 12 since I had 6 coupons!

Katherine...I figure New Hope Publix takes Food Lion coupons because they don't want to loose the business to them once the store opens on 61 this summer. I'll honestly never go to Food Lion unless my (New Hope) Publix stops taking their coupons. I went to Publix yesterday and it was no big deal to me, but they adjusted my coupons (Kraft dressing & Dentabones) but they did take both the Target and the manufacturer, to the exact amount so there was no overage. I'm glad I got the items for free, just not used to it and it really confuses me because I've always thought they get back the value of the manufacturer coupon...does anyone know for sure?

I feel so lucky to have a coupon friendly Publix! I wish more people would complain to the corporate office when they get hostility. There is no excuse to be rude to the customer. I was really burned when I heard a store manager told a customer they were commiting fraud by trying to use duplicate coupons and really hope that person complained. Our store is so good - if one employee tells me yes a coupon will be accepted but they are wrong then they still accept that coupon for one last time. They have never refused me on the spot if they have accepted a coupon in the past, but they have told me that they will only honor something for one more time which is fine. At least I know when I walk in the door that as long as I have asked about new combinations or how to use coupons with a BOGO then I will be good for that shopping trip and can plan around any changes or mistakes the next time I make my list.

Coupon Confused,

I agree with the Publix mangager when she told you that you wouldn't be able to use both BOGO coupons for the erasers. I understand that you want to get items for free, but if the coupon states you must buy 1 to get 1 free, then that is what it means. Please don't abuse these coupon privileges. I've loved shopping at Publix and hope that those of us who use coupons aren't looked upon negatively.

Hi I've never posted b4 but I'm new to this coupon thing and called both of my local Publix store (one of which has a target next door) and they both stated it is a corporate policy not to accept target store coupons. They are only permitted to accept grocery store specific coupons. This was a real let down for me so I wanted to share b/c I see alot of posts using a target and manufacture coupon together at publix.

Coupon Confused,

go to www.publix.com and email the corporate office. I've had luck with that and have made friends with a Publix store manager that way. The store policy as I've been told is that if you have a manu and a competitor, they take off full amount for the manu and the balance for the competitor. Ie. 2 kraft dressing at BOGO $2.99, use 2 of the manu $1/1 and the $1/2 target IP, they will take off the 2 $1/1 and then the competitor coupon should be at $.99. This is from one of my store managers.

Jenny-

I went to Publix in Atlanta yesterday and tried to use both my Manufacturer and Target coupons for the Dixie plates and the Kraft dressing. The cashier told me that I could not use a Target coupon in conjunction with a Manufacturer coupon. When I aksed to speak with a Manager she came to the register and agreed with the cashier. I asked her why and she said that the Manufacturer coupon restricts any additional coupons. I asked her if Publix had changed their policy on accepting competitor coupons. She said that only 1 coupon per item can be used and that it has always been this way. I told her to take the plates and the dressing off of my bill and that I would just go to Target to get the benefit of both coupons. She made a comment that "Target would not take both of them either", which we know is not true. She then proceeded to go through the rest of my coupons and tried to come up with reasons why they were ineligible. She even had the cashier go through the bags in my cart to make sure that I had purchased the correct items, which of course I did. She only found one coupon that she refused to take and this was because she didn't understand it. I had 2 BOGO coupons for the Mr. Clean Erasers and she told me that I could not use 2 BOGO Manufacturer coupons when I was only getting 2 items. She said that the coupon states that I must "Buy" one item and that using both coupons would make them free (which is pretty much my goal). I was so confused by the Manager's behavior at the store that I wasn't paying close enough attention to my coupon total. When I got home I realized that about $10 of Manufacuter coupons were not credited on my bill. I went back to the store and told the Manager that she didn't give me credit for several of my coupons and she replied "you had too many coupons anyway". I then requested my coupons back and she said that she didn't have them. I would like to inform Publix Management regarding this very unpleasant transaction and would appreciate any contact info that you have. I really try to know the store policies to avoid any delays at the register. I find any many stores (not just Publix) that the cashier is just not trained on their coupon policy.

Cory,

You are right. The target printables all say one per transaction. So you could use one of each coupon but not duplicates of any of them.

Nickie,

That is right they will not pay you to shop there. If you know that you will have overage then you add another product and get the money off that item.

I wasn't able to stack my manuf w/ a target coupon because there was overage and the cashier said he couldn't owe me money back. Is that the case?
