CVS Weekly ECB Deals 7/5

Jenny View Comments Comments

This is a great week at CVS.  These deals start Sunday 7/05, and you are not really going to want to shop early this week unless you have access to an early edition of the paper.  The entire ad seems to be brought to you by Procter & Gamble.  If you are looking at the deals and thinking why would she call this great, it is the scenarios below the deals that have me happy.  My plan this week — $87 for $1.50, including FREE diapers.

If you are new to CVS before trying to figure this out read that getting started guide to CVSing.

Travise, Thank you; I totally believe that! I know God is blessing my family with this new couponing education; He has blessed us SO very much lately, it's unbelievable! Oh, and thank you for the welcome, you will see a lot of me, I am sure!
  • Tarrah R.
    Amanda,
Sorry It took me so long to get back to you; I have no idea if you could buy back issues in VA, but my guess would be that you could buy back issues of any paper from the printer anywhere- they should LOVE to make money from papers that didn't sell earlier. Plus, if someone found out that their pict or name or whatever was in the paper, two days too late; they would be looking to buy those issues, which is actually most likely the reason they do sell them. Just check each one to make sure you got your Coupons inside- I didn't check and two of mine didn't have coupons. Stinky! Oh....whatever the name of your paper is, look it up in the phone book and give them a call to ask. God Bless!
  • Tarrah-
Welcome and enjoy... Keeping God first will only help you SAVE more and GIVE more...

I wish I could upload a photo here. Every time I go get a deal I take a pic and put it on facebook with my stats and it is the best part of saving so much money. Actually my favorite part might be displaying or staging all the items. In any event I just left CVS & ended up with 14 bottles of shampoo (head & shoulders, Dove & pantene) 3 bottles pantene hair spray, colgate tooth paste, 2 things of panty liners 2 bottles of body wash (oil of olay)and an underwater camera (my husband had to have, still cost me $9.99). After my coupons, $10.50 in extra bucks & a $15 gift card I got from transferring a prescription I had to fork over.....................Ten Cents.........
    Yes, >>>>>>>>>>>>Ten Cents>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I love you Jenny!!!!!!!!
  • Tarrah R.
Oh my goodness! My hubby is totally sold on CVS after our very first trip! I was sooooo nervous about it any praying that I did it all correctly while I was checking out. I'd say I did- Here's the final count:
$203.37 worth of items (when not on sale and no coupons)
$8.25 out of pocket (this is starting with $0.00 ECB's bcause it was my very first time)
    $19.00 ECB's left over!!!
I am so darn proud of myself! Jenny- you are SUCH a God Send! Thank you! Now, I am able to bless some less fortunates with Diabetes with the meters, and my sis who is out of a job with the food! I plan on using this for only positive. God Bless everyone!
  • AngelathecouponNERD
Wow1 This IS a great week for CVS. I did the Febreeze $10 deal twice, have $5 ECB left, plus $.99 from a liner deal.
Also, transferred a prescription and they took a Rite Aid Q for $25 gift card.
Now I have "start up money" to get some makeup and other items!!

I left southern savers up on our home computer Monday night, and I guess my 9 yr old son read it when he got up in the morning.
He kept telling everyone "this is a great week at CVS!".

Thanks so much for the dollar tree tip! I called our local dollar tree to see if they did the same thing because I missed my Sunday paper this week and I'm so happy that they do!!! I'm on my way to pick up the 3 that they had left!
  • Stacie
Went to CVS yesterday, got $39.18 worth of stuff for $3.12 oop plus still have $12.50 in ECB and another $5 leftover from a couple of weeks ago!! I wasn't able to get a paper this past Sunday, so I missed out on those good deals, I'm super bummed about that!! But still did great! 10 boxes of bandaids, 3 boxes honey bunches of oats, one bottle of tide, one pack of liners, 3 packs of pencils, two bottles of dawn dish soap and a pack of gummies!

Is anyone else having a problem with getting the deals at Cvs in Millbrook? I have been in 3 times and each time I have had to tell the manager about mistakes on ECB's not printing. He has printed off the ECB's for me since they did not print correctly when rang up. Once on nature valley, once on kotex, and once on pantene that they would not give me. For the nature valley for example I bought 2 of 2 different flavors and he was trying to tell me that it had to be the same flavor even when the cashier was telling me it did not??? I am thinking about going to a different Cvs. Check your Ecb's when you go in there to make sure you are getting what your plan is.
  • JEB

I ws very excited about my CVS shopping this week. Here is what I did.

I'd already bought one of the febreze candles in a previous purchase so I already had 6.50 toward my febreze total.

    To start with I had a $5/$25 purchase coupon, a $9.50 ECB, a $5 ECB, a $1 ECB and $.99 cent ECB.

    I bought

    2 folgers coffee 6.00 (3.00*2)
    1 febreze spray 5.00
1 febreze air effects 3.00 (reg. price 3.33)
    3 febreze noticables 19.50 (6.50*3)

    used:

    2 - .25 cents off Folgers
1 - free air effects when you buy febreze spray valued at 3.29 off
    3 - 4.00 off noticables

used my $5/25 coupon, the $9.50 ECB, the $1 ECB and the $.99 cent ECB

    Subtotal 1.22
    Tax 1.01
    Paid 2.23
Savings 43.81 (this incudes what you save b/c something was on sale)

From that receipt I got another $5/$25 purchase coupon and $15 in
    ECB's

    Then...I bought:

    2 Febreze noticeable kits $13 (6.50*2)
2 Head and Shoulders shampoo and cond in one 9.98 (4.99*2)
    2 Pantene Expressions for Brunettes 9.98 (4.99*2)
    1 Revlon lipstick 6.99
1 Revlon nail polish - $0 (free when you buy the libstick)
1 pantene hair spray $3.33 (on sale)

    Used:

    2 $4.00 off noticeables coupons
1 Buy One Get one Free Head and Shoulder's coupon
2 $1.00 off Pantene Expressions coupons
1 Free Pantene styler when you buy shampoo and cond. (3.33 for
    hairspray)

used my other $5/$25 coupon, my $15 ECB, and my $5 ECB (she actually
adjusted my $5 ECB down to 4.96 for me so that everything was free and I only paid the tax.)

    Subtotal $0
    Tax $1.28
    Total Paid $1.28
    Savings $ 59.51

From that receipt I got a $5 ECB and a $6 ECB to use next week.
  • tonya

I had the same problem with the Post printable - no bar code printed out. I tried it twice. If anyone has a solution, I'd love to know. I've already been to CVS this week, but I'll go back if I can get the q to print.

Also - thanks for the tip about scanning your card before you shop. I got the extra 1.50 back - but I would have used it towards my first purchase if I had known.
  • Nikki
I have a question. I received a CVS coupon today for $3 off a Schick Quatro. If I do the BOGO deal, can I use a manufacturer's coupon for each as well as the CVS coupon?
  • Buffy

yes and yes get a rain check for any of the items they wee out of and yes you will get the ecbs
  • Cindy
where did you get the $3 off $15 in senario #3 of your grand plan?
  • libbridge
I am new to CVSing. I went in today for my first time and they were out of a lot of the items. Will they issue rain checks for the items? Can you still get ECB's if you get a rain check?
  • Aimee
    Dani:

Don't despair. Look at the ad again and see if there are any items offering ECBs that you might have manufacturer's coupons for like the Dawn or Tampax. Then you can save those ECBs for next week. I have noticed there are many folks on this website spending pennies with their visits. I have yet to do this but I always leave having spent less and purchasing items we need or will need. Don't be afraid to stockpile and buy brands you don't normally use. These have been the hardest concepts for me but I am slowly overcoming these obstacles. Hang in there and good luck!
  • Aimee
Just returned from CVS and I am so tickled that I saved more than expected. I walked away with 11 great items (detergents, diapers, razors, etc..) and only spent $7.90 out of pocket; however, I received $12 more in ECB's to spend on the next visit. Wish I could come out ahead like this every week!
  • Ashley
    Jerri,
The limit on the deal was 5. That means you can only get the 5 ECBs for each $10 up to 5 or $50. She went over and the deal would only give up to $25. Hope this helps.
  • jerri
    Jenny
my friend did the 1st transaction and got $10ECB and did her second transactions getting the 8 Noticeables Kit it only gave her back 15 ECB instead of 25 ECB what did she do wrong? in the 2nd transaction.

    thanks

Thanks Jenny I am signed up and do get the emails but all the discounts I am seeing are for online purchases. I guess I will just have to be patient.
  • Lora
Can someone tell me what the CVS email coupons look like I have been doing this since 2/09 and still have never gotten a $5 of $20. I am just afraid I don't know what I am looking for.
  • Jenny
    Lora,

The titles usually are Save $3 at CVS this weekend, or something similar. Anytime you get a CVS email open it and scan for coupons :) If you aren't getting their emails then go to cvs.com and sign up for an online account and give them your address that way.
  • ET
Well, I FINALLY received my $5 off of a $20 purchase via e-mail today! This is the first one I have ever received and I registered my CVS card 6+ weeks ago. So, for those of you who have not yet received yours, don't despair!

This was a great week for me at CVS. I went Sunday afternoon and got pencils, tape, and liners along with some CVA band-aids (which we needed) to bring my CVS brand total to $10 so I could use my $2 off $10 CVS brands. When I scanned my card at the kiosk, I received an extra 10ECB's! So this has been a week of pleasant surprises for me with CVS!
  • jen
I went to my local paper cause i was out of town and couldn't get newspaper cause we were in bfe which sold out of papers before i got there..........anyways my local paper said they had papers but no coupons they threw out the ads and coupons .....what is up with that.
  • Terry E.
I went to CVS yesterday and bought 2 pantene shampoos, 2pantene conditioners and 2 pantene stylers. I got the free batteries, and I used 2 of the "buy a shampoo and cond and get a styler free "coupons. I also had 4 $1/1 conditioner or shampoo coupons, but the register would not accept the $1 coupons (it said something like coupon limit exceeded??). It did accept my $4 ECB and my $5 off of $25 coupon. This was my first CVS trip, so I'm not sure what happened. Should I have used the 4 $1 coupons before the free item coupon?? Thanks for your help as I attempt to learn my way around CVS.
  • Amanda
    Tarrah R,

Can you buy back issues in the state of Va?
  • Amanda
Please Can Anybody Help Me???? I don't know where to get the REBATE BOOK AT!!!!
  • Tarrah R.
    Martha, (Comment #93)
I recently started couponing and missed TONS of the Sunday Papers, I finally went yesterday to my local paper and bought back issues for the past two months (they can actually go back a full YEAR!) They did cost me a bit extra (supply and demand), but usually will pay for themselves with 1 or 2 coupons. Just go in with the dates of the papers you'd like to purchase. Good luck!
  • Jennifer
Well I went to 3 CVS's yesterday...Not one pack of pencils to be found. But I did get some tape...:)
  • Dani
    First time to CVS

  • Amber
When you are buying products that have ebc, example: 1.49 caliber tape, do you purchase them one individually, or together?
  • Julie
I had to rearrange my deals b/c I have just NOT been able to find the Trail Mix cereal anywhere, and it seemed like a couple of the other deals were getting cleaned out quick (Febreze mostly). So here's what I did between Sun/Mon (w/o sales tax):

    T1
    Buy:
    ($3) CVS Transparent Tape - $1.49 ea
    Use:
    $4 ECB from last week
    Total Due: $0.47
Get back $4.47 ECB / $2.00 ECB spring Savings (unexpected)

    T2
    Buy:
    Febreze Noticeables Kit - $6.50
    Febreze Fabric Refresher - $5.00
    Febreze Air Effects - $3.00
    Use:
    $4 Off Noticeables
    $.50 Off Fabric Refresher
FREE Air Effects wyb Fabric Refresher
    $6.47 ECB
    Total Due: $0.53
    Get back $5 ECB

    T3
    Buy:
    Head & Shoulders - $4.99
    Head & Shoulders - $4.99
    Dawn Dish Soap - $1.00
    Dawn Dish Soap - $1.00
    Use:
    BOGO Head & Shoulders
    $.50 Off any Dawn
    $.25 Off any Dawn
    $5.00 ECB
    Total Due: $1.24
    Get back $5 ECB

Altogether I got about $30 in products for $2.24 with $5 ECB for next week (though if I DO run across the Trail Mix I will do that deal with the Colgate as my last for the week).
  • beth
Samantha that is what I am trying to do but each week I wind up spending my ecb on something we need and can't roll them. Today my son "needed" a $4 toy with the 4ecb I was trying to save. Each week I have to reinvest more money and wonder how to keep rolling them. How do u do it?
  • Rachel
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the "starter" deals! I am new to CVSing and I was a little bit overwhelmed. I went this afternoon with no ECB's and for my 1st Transaction:

    1 - CVS pantiliners .89
3 - pencil sharpeners - they were already out of pencils :( .99 ea
Paid $4.21 oop (including tax) got back $3.96 in ECB's plus a $1.50 ECB printed out on my receipt

    2nd Transaction:
    3 - CVS Transparent Tape .99 ea
Paid $3.96 in ECB's from 1st trans and .56 oop and got back $4.47 in ECB's

    3rd Transaction:
    1 - Febreze Noticeable Kit $6.50
    1 - Febreze Candle $6.50
    Used (2) $4.00 q's
Paid $6.20 oop and got $5.00 in ECB's

So total I paid $10.97 oop and got back $13.43 in ECB's plus the $1.50 that printed on my 1st receipt. I hope that I am starting to get the hang of it!
  • Angela
I didn't remember that the tape deal was just Sunday and Monday. If I go tomorrow (Tuesday), how will that affect the starter scenario?
  • Veronica
Oh yeah! I went to another CVS in another town and got all the stuff I wanted. I paid $9.91 OOP and got over $65 worth of goodies and walked out with $5 ECB for next week!!! Thanks for all the help!
  • Samantha
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that contributes to this website! I've never stretched a budget this far! It's jaw dropping!

I started CVS-ing 4 weeks ago and I've been using the same 10.00 bucks every week! This week I used the 10.00 towards the febreze deal and got back 25.00 bucks! I invested 3.11 this week and that's the most I've spent in 4 weeks!

All the CVS's in my area have employees that are eager to help out, too!

I also use bucks and rewards to get extra newspapers if the coupons are as good as they were this week.

    Thanks again!
  • Tanya
Oh, forgot, total merchandise would have been $57.00!
  • Tanya
Started with $9 ECB, spent $4.77 and have $11 ECB for next week. Unbelievable!
  • Catherine
Great Week! I was able to shop by MYSELF today and I had a blast!
Best stop was CVS $59 worth of products for $ 11. Ended with $2 more ECB than I started! YAHOOOOO :)
  • Our local Dollar Tree store sells the Sunday paper all week long for only $1.00. It's a great deal, and I like that I can go any day of the week to get one.
  • david
u can usally find that at the big stores like walmart etc. i would call ahead and ask,,,,
  • Martha
If you were out of town and missed this Sunday's paper, do you know where you can get one? Thanks, Martha

CVS in Athens, GA was out of pretty much everything on the list Sunday...what's the point in advertising specials if the shipment doesn't come in time to stock the store?? Frustrating.

    ************

I did this deal today (along with many others) but they only had 7 in stock so my total on febreeze products was 45.50 and I only got the 20 ecb. It worked out fine thought because I just ran into another cvs, got 1 more noticeable kit and it put me over the $50 so the remaining 5ecb printed. I was worried when I did it so I just wanted to let everyone out there know that if you have to break them up over a few transactions, you will still get all of your extra bucks.
  • Tanya
    Jennifer - #77

I had the same problem with the post coupons - no bar code. Publix would not accept it last week and CVS would not accept it yesterday. CVS said they can accept coupons w/o bar codes if it has some "item code" they key in. This coupon did not have that so it would not work. Plus, they were out of the cereal anyway.
  • Diane
    katrina,
they will not let you use it if it came from another cvs card & u use yours when u check out today. If you do use hers again, you will run into the same problem when u try to use the ecb's u earn today. my suggestion is to use those 10ecb's on something you really need that doesnt earn ecb's unless you just want to keep rolling them. ??? I dont know any other way to do it. :(
  • Erin
tons of fun this week at CVS can't wait till next week it is even better! to me anyways loving the free school supplies.
  • AngelathecouponNERD
    Katrina -
I bet you could just give her phone number and that would work.
    :)
  • Kami
I have a coupon for a meter, but the language on it says:

Get a Free Contour or Breeze 2 Meter
When you present your prescription for a blood glucose monitoring system.

Does anyone else have this? Have you used it with any success? I don't have an Rx for this, but would love to use it for the deal!
  • rachel
    Katrina-
The ECBs are attached to the card used when they were earned and non-transferable. You will have to use them up or give them up. Do some deals all at once that will allow you to 'roll' them down - opposite of what we're used to, I know! Or buy stuff that does not produce them...like picture frames or clearance items. Make a plan to use them and see how much you can get while not trying to increase ECBs! You can always allow them to adjust the ECB total down but I never let them adjust more than about 20 cents or so. Good luck!
  • Julie
Got the tape at my 24 hr store on a midnight run, then couldn't get to another CVS until tonight (only 24 hr store in Knoxville; the rest close at 6). I wanted to do either the cereal or the Febreze deal but they were already out of the Trail Mix and Noticeables kits. :-( So, I decided to wait b/c any other deal would up my OOP. They said they'll get another shipment of the Noticeables on Wed. I'm hoping another of my CVS's will have what I seek tomorrow.
  • Jennifer
    Hello!
I am getting ready for my CVS run and have a question. Is anyone having problems with the post cereal coupon printing with the barcode? The coupon prints out, however, the barcode is missing. Will CVS accept this without a barcode?

    Thanks!
  • Katrina
I have $10 ECBs from my mom's card that I got doing the sunglasses moneymaker deal (after I'd already bought the glasses on my card). Now I am wondering if they will let me use these considering they don't match my card or the bunches or $3 off 15 that I have. Should I just give her phone number when I go in and not present my own card? I don't want to be unethical or shady, but I also really want to use that $10 this week. Any thoughts?
  • AngelathecouponNERD
Wow! Everyone's having a good time at CVS, huh?
I got the tape and pencils today. Going back for the Dawn and Febreze later tonight or tomorrow.
When I scanned my card at the price check machine, I got 2 ECB's!!! That's never happened! So, I used that to start. I have a $.99 and a $1.49 ECB to use toward the next deals.
I haven't done much with CVS, and I usually try to use all of my ECB's in the same trip so I don't forget to use them.
Yes, I stand there and make several transactions in a row. :)
  • Sharon
I just can't believe all the stuff I got at CVS today. Here's the gist...

    Tr. 1

    1 Prilosec (used $3 Q)
    1 CVS pantiliner
    3 CVS tape

paid 29 something oop (ouch! but Prilosec is for my grandmother)

got back approx. 10. 50 in ECB, (I also got .99 for the liners).

    **************************

Tr. 2 (had coupons for everything)

    2 Dawn (2 .25 Q)
3 Post Trail whatever cereal ($4 in coupons, ran out of ink before I could print the 3rd)

2 Head and Shoulders (bogo coupon)
    1 Colgate toothpaste ($1 Q)

Used ECBs from T1 to pay, plus about 2.25 oop.
    Got 12 ECBs

    ****************************************

    Tr. 3

    1 5.99 Tide ($1 Q)
    1 2.99 Always (.50 Q)
    1 2 pk Listerine ($2 Q)
    2 gum (BOGO coupon)

Used ECBs from Tr. 2 plus 1.11 OOP.

Still have 2 ECBs left somehow.

I figured out that I paid more for the Prilosec (love my grandmother :) than all the other stuff combined! Unbelieveable! And I know I could have done better if I had more experience and had not run out of ink on the last cereal coupon. God Bless CVS...and Jenny!

    Elizabeth,
I had the same problem with the the Pantene Q’s for $2 off Full & Thick and the Free Styler Q.

I had to choose also. I used the Free Styler Q.
