These deals start Sunday 8/16 at CVS.  We have more FREE school supplies, and lots of deals that are pretty good prices, nothing else that comes out to be free though.  For some deals the coupons are only good if your store lets you shop Saturday night.  Many stores do start running sales at 6pm Saturday so just ask.  If you see anything in the store or any other deals please share!

ARe these deals only local to where you live? I tried the L'oreal and J&J in New York ccity on august 22nd and they did not work. Our circular did not have these listed either nor were the items on sale. Are these localized deals??
  • ET
I was so looking forward to getting the deal on the Purex 3-in-1, but they rang up BOGO at $8.99 instead of $5.99! This would come out to $3.49 each with the two coupons and that didn't seem like such a good deal to me. Did anyone have any luck getting them at the $5.99 price?
  • Susie
I have a question...today I went to CVS and bought 3 bottles of the Herbal Essences shampoo, since it says on here that the limit is 5 for the $2 ECB deal. However, only 1 $2 ECB printed when it rang up. Can anyone explain how this works? Was the limit actually only 1 or do I have to do it in 3 different transactions? Thanks, Susie

Is anyone else having trouble with the "Buy 2 L’Oreal participating Products get a FREE tote bag by mail in rebate". I can't see the form to print. It keeps saying I don't have the latest Flash Player installed. But I clicked the link and installed it, restarted and everything on two different computers and the message is still there and I don't see the form. Any ideas??

Does anyone know what time on Saturday the Dallas, GA store begins printing ECB for the Sunday sale? I would assume it is midnight, but it seems as if some people are able to shop earlier than that.

    Thanks!

Alena, I just got back from CVS in Chattanooga. They were out of filler paper, but had the recycled boxes, $1.98 each, getting $1.98 back in ECB thru today. Go to the L'Oreal website and print off a $5 coupon for the Wrinkle, and a $1 coupon for the cleanser to bring OOP down.

    You're doing great!

Rebecca, in Florence...call corporate. They ARE supposed to issue rain checks even for 3-day sale items. I had the same thing happen, and corporate mailed me rain checks for everything I wasn't able to get. GOOD LUCK :)
  • Anne Marie
I just went to a different CVS than I normally shop and was disappointed. I bought 6 of the Johnson and Johnson first aid kits and 2 of the pens. I handed the cashier my 6 J&J coupons and he said it says only one per purchase, but I'll give you 3. So I asked if he would take 3 off, and he said, we'll I am already helping you out, so... I went ahead and bought them because, but wan't happy. I paid 5.40 and got back 7.98 in ECB's so I guess I can't complain too much.
  • Shannon
I am new to CVS'ing thanks to being directed to this wonderful blog. Unfortunately, my local store doesn't always have the products that are advertised with ECB or they have limited amounts making it difficult to really get the best deal. At any rate I did manage to pay $9.96 OOP for some items on Sunday and get back $11.99 in ECB so I think I'm doing ok for a beginner. I do have a rule that I won't buy something I have no use for or cannot use (I have some strange chemical allergies that prevent me from using many of the regular skin/hair care products available) so often I find that the really good deals or moneymakers are items that go against my rules but I still have hopes of one day paying nothing at the counter and getting ECBs back!!
  • Meghan
Love this website, Thanks for the help saving money! I live in New york and was wondering if anyone knew of a website that had some of the grocery stores sales? Thanks!
  • kelli
Tonya (#124) - I've also never had a problem with the two stores in my town forcing the register to print the ECBs at the end of the transaction. I've had them tell me a few times to make sure that I remind them when I hand them the raincheck to buy the stuff, but I've never had a problem getting them to print them. I would call the number of the back of your card. They will probably just add them to your card to print out the next time you buy stuff. Or you could go talk to the manager. Good luck!
  • Jennifer
The tampons don't have a tag on them at more store in Greenville SC. Does anybody know if the Extracare bucks will print if it isn't advertised in your store? Thanks!
  • Alyssa
    Tonya #124
    You are correct.
They are supposed to print the ECBs after they ring up the items (at the sale price). It is a separate, manual transaction. The lower portion of the raincheck has a code for the cashier to enter. Below that it states "Extra Bucks will be issued upon Raincheck redemption". Maybe you can go back and talk to the manager to correct and reissue your ECBs. Hope this helps you get the ECBs you are due :)
  • Erin
    Tonya -

You are correct. You should have received the ECB's. I've done this for the past 3 weeks with no problems. I would call/ email CVS and they will most likely correct it for you.

For future reference - the cashier will have to "force" the ECB's after your transaction including the raincheck is finished. For example, I used my raincheck for the Grip Pens $.99 w. $.99 ECB. I paid for the pens and then after the transaction was finished, the clerk scanned the receipt and forced the ECBs for the raincheck.

I've done this a two different CVS stores.
  • tonya
    SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY FOR ME.....

i went today to get some rainchecks i had for previous items w/ ecbs...the cashier rang them up (slowly) and the register did not print my ecbs. i asked "aren't i supposed to get the ecbs that were advertised with these deals?" and she very abrubtly said "NO!, you're already getting them for next to nothing!". embarrased and tail tucked, i left, unhappy.

i thought when you got the raincheck...you also got the ecbs that were advertised with item. am i wrong?
  • JenniferP
I received a coupon with my receipt Sunday for $3 off a $15 purchase on any sunblock. The cashier told me that the Neutrogena sunblock had a deal if you spend $15 you get $5 EB, so here is my deal:

    (2)Neut spray sunblocks ($9.49 each)
    -$3/15 (printed with receipt Sunday)
-$2 off Neut sunblock (found in booklet next to sunblock)
    -$2 off Neut sunblock
    -$11.96 EB's

    Total due .02+tax $1.71
Total OOP: $1.73 with $5 EB from deal!

    Okay,

  • Erin
    Hello?
  • Rebecca
My CVS here in Florence told me that they do not do Rainchecks on the 3 day sale items..... has anyone else had this problem? it is quite frustrating? If no-one else is having it-- what should I do? Call corporate while at CVS??
    thanks

Had a question about post #46 that is quoted below:

    Angie
    August 14th, 2009 at 9:01 pm
Jenny- I have a question. The CVS sale on the Swiffer refills @ 3.99 each seems like a good deal, especially when paired with the mail-in program for a rewards card program that Swiffer is running ( $5 reward card for a $10 purchase of Swiffer refills; $10 reward card for $20 purchase). As a newbie, I would love your opinion. I use a lot of Swiffer pads and liquid to keep up with my 3 y/o & 4 y/o.

Where do you find infor on the swiffer reward Card? I use swiffer wet jet. Does it work for those too?
    Thanks!
  • janet
CVS tampons were FREE (after ECBs) at my store, too. Thanks, KIM #92.

Does anyone know what products of revlon are $1.99?
  • Jennifer (#106) My CVS manager said they were substituting the $2.99 comp notebooks. He manually gave me 2 $2.00 ECBs, but I did have to pay more than I anticipated. It wasn't terrible though.
  • Jennifer
Has anyone found the Mini comp. books that are free after Excarebucks....How big are they I am having trouble locating them...are they like 5*7....??? I have asked at 2 CVS and both cashiers were clueless as to which ones were on sale.
  • I am so excited about my hair dye deal! I got 3 boxes of Garnier hair dye for technically $5! I used $5 in ECB, did the deal where you spend $15, you get back $5 in ECB! Oh, and I did buy some little croc-type shoes while I was there for my little one. They were 40% off. So, I bought 3 boxes of hair dye (usually $8.99 each at CVS) and the shoes for $12 and some change. I got back $5 in ECB. Not too shabby! Thanks!!!! Now, I don't need hair dye for about 6 months!

Just wanted to say you do a great job.My main store i shop at is Bi-Lo and for the last few weeks the prices on southern savers has not been on target with bi-lo prices. It seems to be poultry and meat.I was just curious if this happens a lot?
  • Debra
I have a question, I'm fairly new to this ecb's thing. I was wondering can I use several of my extra care bucks on 1 transaction? Any help would be appreciated.
  • Jenny
    Debra,

Think of your ECB just like your cash, you can use as many as you need to pay your total as long as you don't use more than your total due.
  • Anita
At Publix in Chattanooga (East Brainerd Rd. location) in the front coupon rack there is a small booklet by FSA that says "Over $14.00 in savings" on the front. There is a $1.00 off Bandaid coupon inside, so grab two. Expires 9/05/09 :)

I went to CVS this morning around 9:30am, I got the Loreal cream & cleanser, Jack Links chicken nuggets. Used 5/25.00, & was also able to use the 4/20.00 for skin care, 5.00 & 1.00 off Loreal, used free coupon for the Jack links(August All You) only paid 1.18 for tax. Used ECB's. I asked the cashier if I could use both of the CVS Coupons & he said he would try. I was very happy when they both worked. So everyone at least try it. Helps out a lot. Thanks for all the tips & advise. Jenny I love your site. Have told many, many people about your wonderful site.

    Holly,

You won't be able to give your ECB's away, they are only good with your CVS card....it is FREE money so you can just go purchase whatever you want with them or save them until next week and purchase another ECB deal. I always have ECB's in my wallet--consider yourself luck :)
  • Algebra
I haven't seen the Physician's formula mascara in our CVS ad
Have anyone of you had that problem
    thanks
  • elaine
I was able to use the $5 Loreal Deep Wrinkle Eye Duo coupon on the Loreal Deep Wrinkle night creme. The clerk scanned the coupon and it worked just fine!! Yippee!!
  • julie
can anyone answer a question for me? I did 3 transactions 2 at one store and one at another. On my second transaction I used a $4 off of $20 coupon then gave them my $5 off loreal and my $1 off cleanser then tried to pay with bonus bucks from my 1st transaction it took some of them then wouldn't allow me to use the rest, cashier said it came up manual coupon limit reached. It wasn't because the bucks were more than the balance. Went to another one one the way home, same thing, I used a$5off of $25 coupon used some of my bucks then it wouldn't take the rest. Does anyone know why. Is it the number of times I used my bucks or is it the $amount limit reached? I've never had that happen and had to pay oop. Just wanted to know so I can avoid it in the future
  • Kristen
The CVS Auto Refill Coupon book has 4 off 20 for facial skin products. Use that will the Loreal skin cream and it should bring it down to $5.98
  • Heather
For those interested in the J&J deals with the first aid kits...some of the CVS's have them both where the band-aids are, and either on an end-cap OR in the travel-size items. I've found them at different places depending on the store. Have fun!

and, for Jenny - I tell people about you and your site every week...you are such a blessing! One of the managers at Bi-Lo was SUPER excited to learn about your site...I talked to her after saving $115 last night (spending $34). :0) Thanks for all you do.
  • Kim
CVS brand tampons (10-count) were an 'unadvertised' free after ECB item for me today in Jackson, Mississippi......$1.89 like a couple weeks back. The tag says 8/16 thru 8/22.
  • Lori
I'm a newbie too! This may have been asked already, but on the spend $15 get $5 ECB, is that before the coupons or after? So if I buy $15 worth b4 coupons & then use $3 worth of coupons, will that still count for $15 spent??
  • Marie
No luck at my CVS this morning! :( I got there about 40 minutes after they opened and pretty much everything was gone for ECBs! Ended up walking out with $5 in ECB's. Oh well!
  • Tiffani

well the products that i bought yesterday were for last weeks ad. I guess the only thing that I can think of that I would buy would be the L'oreal cream and cleanser..I do have the coupons for both...do you think that I should buy that use my $9ECB's and get $10ECB's back? Maybe because I am a blonde I am confused! Thanks for your help! I think that I need a CVS buddy!
  • holly if you have already done your shopping, you can save them for next weeks sale.
  • holly
Anyone that would like to give me an idea for the $9ECB's that I have....I am new to this and went to CVS last night to start my ECB's. Not sure how to roll these over with whatg is on sale right now. I would love some suggestions or help! I am kind of confused with this whole ECB thing! Thank You so much!
  • Colleen
I didn't do as well as I had hoped at CVS but still got some things I needed for at lot less. I searched everywhere for the J&J travel first aid; finally found them with help in the Trial size section and they were out. Will the coupon still work on those as it says exclude trial size? She wrote me a raincheck but I needed them more for my scenario than the actual item:) So I had to pay $2 more than planned and then my Extra Care card was fraudulent! They worked it all out for me but it took forever and I had to get a new card. I guess the employees sometimes use them for their own benefit.
I spent about $13, ended up with $3 ECBs when I expected alot more- my own fault on that one- but did get 4 big pantene shampoo/conditioners, the ear phones for my son for school, pens and a mini- comp. for $10 or so.
  • If your store has TG Lee Milk go to the TG Lee Dairy Website for $1.00 off coupon making the milk 79 cents a gallon after coupons and ECBs. I also think the limit may be more than 1 (as the add states). I bought milk this morning and the bottom of my receipt does not say offer limit reached it says I need to purchase 1 gallon to earn the ECB.

  • seacoastmom
Oh, & if you really need some kits, I've gotten them at Publix as well I think they are 99 cents there. No ECB's but still free :@)
  • kelli
Mary and val - they are in the travel section of the 2 store I go to.
  • seacoastmom
I found them in the trial-sized section. In my CVS its at the back of the store at the end of a makeup aisle.
  • Tiffani
Jenny, you can also use the $4/$20 skin care coupon in the autorefill coupon booklet on the loreal products to reduce your oop.

    val,
the first aid kits are in the travel section at my store.
  • val
Where is everyone finding the first aid kits for .99 cents. Maybe I didn't look good enough, but my store only had large kits. Are they with the bandaids or the actual kits? Thanks.
  • What part of CVS has the $1 first aid kits? Haven't found them by band aid aisle. Thanks
  • kelli
seacoastmom - that's a great idea for the first aid kits! I've been stocking up on them because they've been free... but I didn't know what to do with them. I'm a Girl Scout leader and I'm sure the girls in my troop would love a little first aid kit. :)

Just wanted to warn everyone, if your trying to use the $1 off J&J coupons to buy the first aid kits, you might have trouble... I've had trouble the main store I shop at every time I've tried to use them. The other store in my town has no problem with them but isn't as well stocked. I could only find 6 total in the 2 stores (5 in the first, 1 in the second). I got to use my $4/$20 though, so with that and my $6 J&J coupons, I made $10 today! yay!
  • Stephanie
Where is thw AMC offer? I bought a card and didnt get anything. Then I couldnt find it in the ad.
  • seacoastmom
Oh, and I mean 6 left AFTER I did my deal. Thanks Jenny, Your lists for CVS ROCK!
  • seacoastmom
I did the J&J Travel Size deal this morning at the S'ville Dochester/Bacon's Bridge CVS. There were 6 left at 8:30 am. PLUS I got Crest White Strips, the Loreal Cleansers & Deep Set Wrinkle Cream, a TON of Back to school (there was lots stocked this morning!) some candy splurges for my 8 year old "helper" and picked up photos that had been developed, and got an extra paper. I started with $16 ECB's and had 2 $5/25 coupons and I paid about $7.50 OOP. I did 3 transactions. No ECB's left :@(

I know I might have been able to do better, I forgot my $3 Whitestrips coupon! Argh! But I'm super happy because *mommy* gets to be wrinkle-free with a bright white smile AND all my Girl Scouts will get a First Aid kit so they can "Be Prepared" ...all for $7.50!! It was about $93 worth of stuff.
  • Amber
Just got back from CVS. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if you buy (2) 99 cent Johnson & Johnson mini-first aid kits, you get back $2 ECBs making them free! They were hanging on an end cap.

    Today I bought:
    4 12 packs Pepsi
    4 Sobe Waters
    2 Gatorades
    2 filler papers
    2 packs of pens
    2 Maybelline lipsticks
    2 lollipops
2 J&J Mini First Aid kits

    Q's used:
    4 off 20
    2 Sobe Qs
    6.98 in ECBs

$9 and some change OOP with $4.98 ECBS to roll. WOOT!
  • Zandra
If you are planning to use a $4/$20 coupon, the total is AFTER the BOGO deal. The free items do not count toward your total.
  • Michelle #68 same here...just returned from 2 stores and I was the only person in both. I was albe to get everything on my list for this week and I have $6 inj ECBs for next week!
  • kelli
Denise (#57) - it will say at the bottom of your receipt if you have... it will say what the item(s) are and then it will say "limit reached" under it.
