Amy’s Kroger Menu 10/27
Posted on Oct 28 2009 | By Jenny · CommentsIt sure does feel like fall today. I was inspired by the Kroger ad and came up with a few of my favorite fall comfort foods.
Using Split Chicken Breasts and Eckrich Smoked Sausage:
or
Chicken Bog
This recipe calls for a 3lb. chicken but I just use the breasts.
Using just Split Chicken Breasts:
Buttermilk Baked Chicken
I found that I needed to bake this a little longer due to the large size of the breasts and I would have doubled the sauce.
Using Pork Loin:
Debate BBQ Sandwiches (this is also a crock pot recipe)
Using Ore Ida Hash Browns, Sour Cream, Cheese:
Hash Brown Casserole
I have no official recipe for this. You just combine all ingredients and bake. You can top it with a crispy coating of crackers, corn flakes, etc. or just bake as is.
-
- 32 oz. bag hash browns
- chopped onion (we leave this out)
- can condensed soup (cream of potato, chicken, or mushroom)
(I use mushroom and then add some sauteed mushrooms to the mix) - 8 oz. container sour cream
- shredded cheese to liking
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Using Chuck Roast:
Beef Stew
I’ve tried a lot of beef stew recipes. They are usually bland. This one had a lot of flavor.
Using Toll House Morsels and Pretzels:
All-Time Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
Use the variation at the bottom of the page to make Chocolate-Chip Pretzel Cookies. If you love salty and sweet combination you’ll love these.

ENJOY!!

I can definitely vouch for the Chicken Bog recipe from Paula Deen. This is a family staple and probably one of my most shared recipes.
I wonder if Amy would be willing to post some vegetarian recipes?
I will try. I don’t cook too much vegetarian as my husband lifts weights and we always have meat with our meals.
The chicken and sausage gumbo has the incorrect link, it is for chicken bog also. I love that you have added recipes to your site!!! Could it get any better than this!?!?
It’s fixed now; thanks so much! It looks wonderful; I can’t wait to try it!
Having recipes to go along with the sale items is a WONDERFUL idea !!! One of my first questions when I started couponing (6 months ago) was what kind of meals can you have with just what’s on sale ? I’ve learned a little on my own, but now you’re helping… it’s just fantastic !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for ALL you do !!!!! You’re such a blessing ! ;o)
