You can get the Publix Penny item with any purchase that is $10 or more before coupons. There is a Mystery Penny Item coupon in the Publix Sunday Ad every week or somewhere in the Sunday Paper. Some stores do not require this coupon, but many have changed and do require it now, check with your store to find their policy.

Remember the whiter the bread the quicker your dead. I’ve lost over 150 pounds this year by eating more fiber and less processed food. Always choose Whole Wheat when possible.
Wow, Bertha! That’s fantastic that you have lost 150 pounds! We buy whole wheat bread, but for a penny the bread can be donated to someone in need.
Why is the penny item different at my Publix sometimes? I was looking forward to the Publix water last week but was disapointed with Publix Frosted Flakes. Why do the items vary?
Some variance may occur when the store has run out of an item or has surplus of another item. Last week at our Publix ws supposed to give out water, but we got coffee (again). In the past, one store seemed to always have salad dressing as their item, but that was usually on Monday.
Correct, when Publix runs out of the mystery item, they substitute it with overstock. Also what happens is that the grocery managers forget to order the mystery coupon (so I’m told……)
We got a box of Honey bunches of oats, probably overstock from last weeks BOGO sales. I was thrilled….my sons favorite cereal!
Does this include the whole wheat bread?

No, the penny item is only the white bread.
My Publix never has the penny item, only bags. I have so many Publix shopping bags it’s ridiculous.
I started telling my relatives about the savings and deals I was getting on H & B items and that is what they were getting for Christmas this year. They were thrilled! Now that I have so many bags I can give them one with the items in it and everything will be usable; no paper to put in the landfill. Talk about recycling.

The Atlantic Station Publix consistently has the flyer containing the penny item in its turnstyle coupon rack. So if you’re ever down here on a weekend, come check it out!

It was only the white bread, which we don’t eat normally, but I am going to cut it up into little pieces and freeze it for stuffing for Thanksgiving! Almost free stuffing is good!

Good idea! We don’t eat white bread either. After years of whole grain, I have lost my taste for this stuff.
Dorchester Rd store was doing Chef Boyardee for the penny item instead of bread when I went today

Woodstock/Kennesaw GA store has a box of Swiss Miss hot chocolate for the penny item - yum!
There is a weekly savings circular in the turnstyle when you first walk in to the Publix store by me. On the the bottom left of front cover, there is a coupon that simply says “Publix Mystery Coupon: See what $.01 gets…,” but does not announce what the item is. The staff can direct you to the item.
Publix at Bell’s Ferry & 575 in Kennesaw has Swiss Miss today!!!
My Publix offered their version of flavored, carbonated 2 liter drinks. Yuucckk!!

Publix in Taylors Sc had Honey Bunches of Oats…yum and a great penny item!
Lexington, SC Publix had Aunt Jemima syrup as the penny item on Sunday.
