I almost did this, until I saw that to redeem the $25 card at my restaurant of choice, the check had to be $35 AND an 18% gratuity would be added to the pre-discounted amount. Yes, the gift card would be $2, but in the end, it's still $18.30 (not including any taxes). I realize it's still a roughly-50%-off meal, but not the amazing steal it looks like.

How and where do I add the code ? At what step ???

Someone said about a month ago that lots of places are not accepting these any more due to the economy. Has anyone run into that problem?
  • Nadine
You can email Restaurants.com and they will exchange the gift certificate to another participating restaurant within 90 days of purchase. Nice if you bought certificates w/o trying out the restaurant and decide you didn't care for their cuisine.
  • Nadine
Oh, and yes, ran into that problem when the restaurant changed hands and the new owner didn't accept the certificates. I was stuck with 8 of them and restaurants.com exchanged all of them!

Just be careful...I thought this was a great deal too, but didn't realize you had to spend so much at the restraunt to use the gift certificate. For example at one you had to spend at least $50 to ues a $25 gift certificate....still a good deal, kind of like a buy one get one free

Anyone out there use these anywhere good in the Birmingham area?
  • Jenn
Emily- if you don't see any of your favorites, buy a few that you may like. We have found 2 restaurants, that we tried because of Restaurant.com, and they are now favorites. You can look at the menus to help you decide. HTH
