FYI, if your store lets you use internet coupons, then they have a "Mr. potato Head" toy for $2.50 advertised in their big toy book. you can use a $2.00 printable that I printed from www.hasbro.com, and get the toy for .50 and then get 20% off your purchase!( the 20% ends today!) If you can't use internet coupons at your Dollar General store, then ad match at Target or Walmart, just called and they will match the ad, and they will take printable coupons! If you have access to more than 1 printer then you can print more coupons! Great toys for charity!

Our local Dollar General Market has a coupon book out right now with coupons good for free eggs among other things. The books have coupons for November and December. Most of the items are D.G. specific, but some are general and could be used at Publix.

I asked the manager this morning, and she confirmed that they will take the 10%-20% coupon on top of manufacturer coupons. She didn't know if it took the percentage off the original total, or off the total after coupons, though.

I contacted DG and got this response:
Dollar General is pleased to accept manufacturer coupons at any of our more than 8,100 stores. If you have five coupons for five products, you may use them in one transaction unless the coupon states otherwise. If the coupon states that it is good for any product, you may use the coupon for any product even if it is not pictured, unless the coupon states otherwise.

You may use a Dollar General coupon along with a Manufacturer’s coupon for the same item, as long as neither coupon states otherwise.

Unfortunately, due to fraudulent attempts, we are unable to accept internet coupons, unless they were e-mailed to you directly from Dollar General. To sign up for Dollar General promotional discounts and offers, please visit www.dollargeneral.com and click on the "Sign up for E-mails" link in the upper right corner of the page.

You are a valued customer here at Dollar General.

    Kind regards,

    Amy C. Drolet

DG doesn't take printed coupons, however. I'm trying to think exactly where I read it, but it was in print - not just a clerk saying so. It said something about "due to the possibility of fraud" they don't take home printed coupons, only pre-printed ones.

I used printed coupons at my store a few days ago. They scanned just fine. Must be "per store".

I didn't mean to imply that they wouldn't take the coupon linked above - I'm sure they will because it says to "print it out and take it to DG", but coupons for food, etc. might not be honored.

Yes, they do take manufacturer coupons. I used 6 of them yesterday. I bought Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice $2.50. Used $2/1 coupons and got them for .50 each!

They accept manufacturer coupons so I don't see why they wouldn't but it would probably be worth a phone call just in case. Thanks for asking because I wouldn't even have thought about that.
  • Dollar General has a lot of toys and gifts for under $10, plus I even saw a digital video camera for only $35. You can look at a lot of what they have on their website.

Does anyone know if DG will take a manufacturer coupon for an item along with this store coupon?
  • Sue
I asked the manager of my local store and she said no.
  • Sue
Please disregard. I misunderstood your question at first. SORRY
  • Audra
Not sure, but I plan on asking my local store manager first thing in the morning! I'll let you guys know what I find out.
