I actually have worked at Harris Teeter before and know that your VIC card locks you out after 5 scans. The triple coupons will stop at twenty no matter how many times you scan your VIC card. It also won't triple them after 20 if you go to another Harris Teeter. Hope that helps.

ok so I'm just starting to try this whole coupon thing but I've been at it for a freakin hour and can't get the coupons to print correctly. First they were printing the right half of the coupon now they're printing the left half. I know the store won't take them without an expiration date. Any help?

Hey guys, if you printed the $.75 off wishbone salad dressings last month, it is on sale 2/$4, so it is FREE! :) and the kix and multi-grain cheerios have $.75 off coupons, so they are around $.75/box.

Tiffany- you are allowed to triple 20 coupons per DAY. Your VIC card keeps track of how many you use in a 24 hour period. There is some debate about how many visits you are allowed before your VIC card locks and doesn't let you double/triple anymore coupons...i think its between 5 and 7 though so if you go to one store and use 10 coupons and go to another store to use your other 10 in one day you're fine. You just couldn't use 20 in the morning and another 20 at night, that's all.

I have never been to Harris Teeter, so I was wondering if you can go twice in one day and still get the triples?

Thank you for the list!

Not sure if this is local to my store or not, but in Manassas, VA, Hot Pockets and Lean Pockets breakfast items are 2 for $2. With the 9/27 $.75/1 RP coupon, you can get them for free during triples! Maybe it is all HTs?

That's so funny about your $1.04 bag! Guess the poor guy will need some therapy after that one--I've met PhDs who can't wrap their heads around couponing.

You're absolutely right about the HTs in Charlotte: policy depends on store management. On today's trip, you would think no policy changes have happened. I've always been able to use 2q's on BOGO items, no DND/DNT issues, and I've used up to 10 printables at once. The only rule set in stone is the 20q limit per 24 hours, which I think is a generous amount.

I know there is bound to be corporate griping about enforcing the policy to management. In defense, I'd just like to add: HT's system would not be set up to ring half price if they really only wanted 1q on a BOGO. The DND/DNT q's I use are rare and hardly warrant getting hand-keyed, and my printables are always legitimate. Truth be told, the HT today was simply too busy making money, too high-volume to be that picky. If their cashiers had to scrutinize every q, the lines would be back to the meat section!

I am pretty sure that all the DND or DNT coupon policies, as well as several other restrictive policies are completely up to the local store manager. They really don't seem to be as "corporate" as some cashiers suggest.

That said, the HT at Ardrey Kell/Johnston Road(521) in South Charlotte has a very coupon-friendly manager who coupons himself.

The HT just a few miles up the road, at Johnston Road(521)/John J. Delaney is much less friendly to couponers. Here, I've had cashiers completely scrutinize my coupons for expiration dates (I never use expired coupons) and DND/DNT before even beginning to apply them. I also get attitude from the cashiers if I'm too successful.

Whereas at the "coupon friendly" store at AK/521 scans willfully and happily and just this morning the cashier sat and flat out marveled over the full bag of food that I got for $1.04!

What is your favorite Harris Teeter in Charlotte? I usually shop in the Elizabeth@Central Ave (the original Harris Teeter) or the Cotswold@Sharon Amity Rd store.

I find the HTs at Harris Blvd@Mallard Creek Rd and University Blvd@UNCC a little higher priced. I've noticed substantially higher prices in well-off neighborhoods like Dilworth@East Blvd and Sedgefield@Park Rd, and at the small HT Express stores in Myers Park (old money) and Uptown (new money). The priciest I've found is the ritzy Southpark@Morrison Blvd HT--also known around town as the Taj MaTeeter or the Food Museum.

If you've never been, the Taj is worth the trip just to see the Floral and Produce Depts, the Deli, and the Meat Cases...the only place I've ever seen fresh rattlesnake for sale alongside the sashimi tuna!

A few I got today that were not on the list:

Argo Cornstarch: $1.59 - 0.40 (SS 10/4) = 0.39
Mazola cooking spray: $1.50 - 0.50 (SS 10/4) = free
Fleischmann's yeast strips: $0.99 - 0.40 (SS 10/4) = free, plus 0.50 off your next shopping order Catalina
Land O Lakes spreadable butter: $2.25 - 0.40 (SS 10/18) = 1.05 ... there is also an 0.55 printable out there that would make this 0.60

I called corporate to ask about that after a manager would not let me use 2 coupons for a B1G1. Corporate said that the manager was right. Their policy is to accept only one coupon for a B1G1. No coupon for a free item. So I just buy one at a time and that does the trick.

My HT is Charlotte does that too! I just bought one of the items with a coupon and then went back later and purchased the second with the coupon. It doesn't make sense to me either!

Anyone have problems using coupons for "when you buy two" items with B1G1? For example, my Harris Teeter says I can't use a "save .75 when you buy two" if it's Buy one Get one. The coupon policy says only one coupon per B1G1, so I thought it was ok since I was presented one coupon. I was told since I was getting one "free" that it couldn't count toward the two items needed to validate the coupon. In my opinion that's not correct, as actually they are charging both at half price. Anyway, didn't know if my Harris Teeter was just stickler or if it's this way across the board.
