Kroger: Hasbro Games deal Not Free

I put this in the weekly list for Kroger but feel like I need to make a post to correct the wave of wrong information about this deal.

This week Kroger has Hasbro Card Games B1G1 free.

Kroger Southeast and Mid Atlantic regions, like many grocery stores ring up their B1G1 deals where each item is half price.  Because of this if you use a B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 deal they are NOT both free.  It takes off the price of one of the games, but you still have the pay the half price for one that is due for the other game.

This is the case with any B1G1 deal using a B1G1 coupon in a grocery store that rings up this way.

(Your cashier can hand enter to take off the full price, but for most stores this will rarely happen)

What is the deal?

Hasbro Card Games B1G1
B1G1 Hasbro Card Games USA Weekend 11/15

It should make it around $2.50 for 2 games, still not bad, but also not free.

I went to kroger and had several coupons for the card games. They said it was not a BOGO but 1/2 off I asked for the manager and told her that the paper says BOGO next to the games not 1/2 off. She gave them to me. So I got them for only the tax. If you have not redeemed yours yet, Walmart will match any other sale paper and honor the coupon. So you can get them there for only the tax.

While you are there, Kroger also has great deals on Disney Princess dolls (Barbie-size), the smaller, zip-case Princess sets (right now $11 or $12 at Toys R Us), and Hot Wheels sets (including a 10-vehicle set), all just $4.99 at Kroger. These are all at least half off.

I've never found deals on toys at Kroger until now. I've stocked up for some of the charity requests we all get this time of year! :)

Went to the Kroger in Richmond, VA, and they had no Scrabble Slam (the only one I wanted :(( They had only a few that I could find, and they were the Monopoly and something about a Fish War. Only a couple of decks of those. Great deal, tho. Happy Hunting!

I have been to two Krogers so far and no luck. Anyone found these yet around Lawrencville, GA?
  • k green
Smyrna (TN) Krogers don't even have these games. Check before you get your hopes up.

I got 6 games for free yesterday at Kroger. I checked out through the self scan, noticed the Q came off at $5.99, commented to the clerk. She said "I didn't do anything, that's how it rang up". All free to me!
  • Amy
I used the coupon at kroger in Brentwood, TN (Nippers Corners) and she scanned it and it scanned at 5.99, and i paid $.54 tax and she said "wow, you really got a good deal!" I said, "Yes, I did!" :)

At the very same store, my cashier struggled with the coupon for a while before getting it to beep. Tonight I looked at my receipt and realized the coupon never came off at either price! I'll be back there tomorrow to get my $3 back or else return the games.

What about giving the coupon first and then have them scan your Kroger card? I know it did when we had a Winn Dixie in my area.
  • Shelley
I am wondering if anyone else from Huntsville AL. was missing all the coupons this Sunday? And do you know where we can get them from or are we totally missing out???
  • Target has printable for b1g1 monopoly deal or scramble slam card games that you can pair with the hasbro b1g1 to get 2 free card games.
  • Phillis
Are you talking about the coupon where you buy one regular type game and get the cards free?
  • Karen
Worked for me at the Kroger in LaVergne @ Uscan
  • Phillis
Lucky you, I didn't even think about going thru u-scan. I got two in Lavergne, but paid $3.54 for both, included tax.

In Mansfield, Ohio they both ring up for $5.99. Once the cashier hits total it takes $5.99 off for the Kroger BOGO and then the cashier took $5.99 off for the coupon so I did get them both free. Actually got 4 free because I had 2 coupons.

I just did this deal at my Kroger. Games were regular $5.99 rang up at $3.00 each so I paid $3.54 for two (with tax.) Clerk was confused and almost gave me $5.99 credit for the coupon, but decided to give me only the $3.00 credit. I was hoping they'd be $2.50 each, but price varies from store to store sometimes.

I just bought two card games today. They weren't BOGO but were on sale. One was $2.50 the other $2.99. Cashier took off the $2.99 for me. Not a bad deal at all to get two stocking stuffer card games for $2.50.
The USA weekend is what we get instead of the Parade here in TN. There was also a Viva paper towel coupon in it.
  • Jennifer
It varies from paper to paper. I get the Knoxville News Sentinel and the Maryville Daily Times, Parade comes in the Knoxville one, USA Weekend in the Maryville one.

  • Stacey
HCW or hotcouponworld posts a Publix preview every Monday around noon. It's already up today.
  • Julie
    thanks so much

What if you bought 3? Wouldn't you get 3 for about $2.50?? I'm still thinking about that one. B1G1 from Kroger (game #1 and game#2)and then the coupon would be for a free one (game #3, since you are paying for 1 already. Right?
  • Jason
This (buy 3) is exactly what I do with B1G1 coupons + B1G1 sales, because no one will give you any hassle about it, and it works even if the store doesn't ring them up at half price (the second full-price one is free). It amounts to B1G2. Sure, it's slightly worse than if they will let you buy 2 and use the coupon (which is equivalent to B1G3) but personally I'm just not hardcore enough to press it -- I always choose the easy way out over a slightly better deal.
  • elizabeth
Good idea, never thought about that.
  • JessC
You would be paying $2.50 for #1 and $2.50 for #2, #3 would be free. $5 for 3 games isn't terrible though.

    What is USA weekend?
  • traci
In Louisville we don't get the parade. The coupon is in the USA weekend. Page 3
  • Ginger
Hey Traci. I'm in Louisville too. Have you tried this yet to see if it works? Thanks.
  • traci
Sorry- didn't read the post correctly. I think the USA weekend is alot like the Parade. It's been awhile since I have seen a parade. It is a supplement that has celebrity and health news. This weeks has an article about the years best educational toys, sometimes has a recipe or two.
  • Stephanie
It is an insert in the Sunday paper like the Parade...It only comes in our county newspaper not the AJC. Hope this helps!
  • Caroline Simmons
Stephanie, can you tell us which county newspaper? I'd like to see if I can pick on up today. Thanks!
  • Caroline Simmons
NM, I found a list on their website - http://www.usaweekend.com/partners/partner_link.... Thanks!
  • KAREN
Sorry, but i must be doing something wrong. can you go to the usaweekend website & print out the coupon? i'm not having any luck finding it. any suggestions? thanks!!
  • Caroline
    Yes, that does help. Thanks.
  • ZM
In Tx, they ring up as true bogos at Kroger. First will ring full price, second will ring up zero.
It is still ymmv as to whether cashiers will let you use bogo coupons on bogo sales, but in our case, these games would be free(assuming cashier allows coupon to be used)
  • Mindy
Where Can I find USA weekend?
  • Kim
FYI - Krogers in Ohio does not give you half off if you only buy 1 on a B1G1 deal. you just miss out on the free one if you only take one to the register. Not just on games - but on everything.
