Woo Hoo! This is my first Southernsavers Black Friday! I’ve been a Black Friday shopper for years, but feel like I’ll have a leg up on the best deals this year!
    Thanks, Jenny!

  2. kim says:

Wow!!! I have never done a black friday early shopping spree, and we’ll be away in the mountains for Thanksgiving with our entire family, but this ad makes me want to reconsider!!! Good luck everyone getting the super awesome deals! You ROCK Jenny!!!

  3. Suzanne says:

Anyone have any ideas what 5 games are preloaded on the blue Nintendo DSi with the Mario face on the box? I will def. be in line for this for my ds!

  4. Petrina says:

Hubby and I checked out the westinghouse tv tonight and it is nice!!! Hoping we can snag one early morning.

  5. LilKim says:

The Apex 40″ TV is only $449??!!! Wow! That is a crazy awesome price, esp with the 1080 dpi!!

  6. Sheila says:

Since this is my first black Friday, I am especially glad that I will be even more informed. I’ve always avoided it due to the throngs, but all of my recent savings has me feeling very empowered. Anyone with suggestions, I appreciate it. For example, do I really need to get to the stores at 4a??

    • Aymee says:

I would get there before 4am. My husband and I usually stay the night and Circuit City, but not his year since they are closed.

      • Kristine says:

If you are wanting to get there for a hot ticket item it’s better to get there as early as you can before they open. There will be lines to get in the stores. Plus each store is only given so many hot ticket items. When they are gone they are gone. No rainchecks on Black Friday items. Some stores give tickets for items (usually popular electronics) to the first few people in line.

  7. Jenni says:

Target price matches now too! Take all your ads and get your shopping done in one place!

  8. Emily says:

    Thanks for the early preview!

  9. Shannon in ATL says:

I haven’t participated in black friday b4, what are my chances of getting my hands on one of the tvs?

    • Amy says:

As they say “the early bird gets the worm”.. go early! I have been at Kohls at 4am before and there been a line already outside Target on Harbison! They open at what time??

      • Kristine says:

I agree. Go early! Definitely be there BEFORE the store opens. Many line up hours before. For the most part it depends on how early you are there & how many tv’s the store was given to sell. Good luck!

  10. Melissa says:

So I have participated in Black Friday for many years now. But, that was before I started using coupons. So my question is do places actually ever have coupons out for stuff on Black Friday? Also, when it says spend $100 get a $10 gift card would that be before or after using coupons? Thanks for any help!!

  11. lydia says:

I have a silly question, can you use the q’s, if you have them?????

  12. pharmSCgirl says:

What size Westinghouse TV is going to be on sale for $246?

  13. DeeDee says:

Ummmm… not much this year that catches my attention! Don’t need tvs or game systems. Quite a few things are on sale or reg. priced right now at the same or $1-2 less/more. Black Friday is supposed to be about huge savings deals. Don’t see it in this ad.

  14. kardomr says:

Graco Smart Baby Doll with Stroller, High Chair and Play Yard, and Changing Pad $24.99

is that one baby that comes with all those things?

  15. Allison says:

Does anyone know if you will be able to get the same prices on target.com during the sale, or are these in-store-only prices? Obviously, there’s shipping to consider, but I’ve gotten free shipping from Target several times in the past depending on the item.

    • Stacey says:

I can’t definitely say about Target but I have shopped WalMart.com for Black Friday deals for several years now. Their prices are the same online as in the store and they have free shipping. Shopping in my pj’s without fighting people is now my BF tradition. I used to enjoy camping out for those anticipated BF deals but it just got too dangerous and some of the people look like zombies straight from the Thriller video. When the thrill of the hunt became survival of the fittest, I turned to e-shopping.

    • Stacey says:

I’m not sure about Target.com but I would think they would be the same as Walmart.com and Walmart BF prices are the same online as in the store and they have free shipping. I have shopped Walmart.com for BF deals for the last few years. Shopping in my pj’s without fighting people is my new BF tradition. I used to enjoy camping out in anticipation of BF deals but it just got too dangerous- especially when some folks look like extras from the Thriller video:). When the thrill of the hunt turned into survival of the fittest, I turned to e-shopping.

  16. Michelle says:

Not sure if this is the same model for the Sony Blue Ray, but right now they have a sony on sale for $99.99 at Target.

  17. Leah says:

I have seen the adds for Kohl’s Kmart and a few others as well and I am very disappointed with this year’s “deals”. I love Black Friday, but can’t say that I will be fighting for much this year :( Hoping ToysRUs and Walmart will really bring it since no one else has. I have shopped this for years and usually get out by 3am, if there is a really hot item stay the night!!!

  18. Mina says:

When the kiddos were just wee ones, I used to be at Target when it opened for BF sales for things like Matchbox cars, Barbies, and My Little Ponies, but not the big ticket items. The morning crowds were crazy then, but crazier now. I DID enjoy the high of being able to grab those little things then. Now, they’d have to have a pile of great deals on practical necessities in order to lure me in. If a store offered something like, “Great Northern tissue - 24 mega rolls/$2, Limit 25″ or “R9 insulation/$4 per 80ft.” they’d have a better chance of getting my attention.

I expect to enjoy BF the way I have for the past 15 years, by sleeping in and relaxing after the cooking/cleaning frenzy of the week before, and staying as far away from Harbison as I can.

    • Lisa says:

You know Mina, I think you have the right idea, and I agree. I have young children who can not even come up with anything they really want for Christmas! So don’t know if I am into “fighting” for those “good” deals this year!! LOL With our economy the way it is, I have a feeling that the closer it gets to Christmas the more we will see the prices going down on things. Afterall, every retailer knows that “everyone” shops on Black Friday so why would you lower your prices before then?

      • Traci M. says:

You both are correct (I think)….deals will get lower as we get closer to Christmas, since the economy is so bad. Retailers will see how much product is left the week before Christmas and slash prices. (just my humble opinion).

    • Teresa-QOCD says:

My story also. Too old for that fight.

  19. Kristine says:

I’m excited about Black Friday. I am always able to find some deals for my family for Christmas. Our budget has always been tight as we are on one very modest income. I look forward to Black Friday every year! My Mom & I used to shop together and now my daughter & I have taken up the tradition. Thanks for the post & helping us to save.

  20. D.W. says:

I just saw this deal for Target on another website and thought I would mention it. Target has Mr. Potato Head Spud Buds on sale for $5.99 this week and there is a $5 off coupon here. This would make it $.99 for the Spud Buds (not sure if these are the full size or not). Originally they are only $6.99. I’m gonna try to go get a few today!

    • D.W. says:

I should mention the potato head deal is for this week…not black friday.

      • Shannon in ATL says:

Can you remind me of the details of the potato head deal plz…thinking about doing it for a donation to womens shelter….thanks!

        • D.W. says:

The mr. potato head spuds buds are on sale for $5.99 this week in target and there is a $5.00 coupon on coupons.com. it comes out to be $.99 each. I found them in the christmas section, near the stocking stuffers. hope this helps

  21. LH says:

Does anyone know if the giftcards carry limits? Can you do more than one transaction and use the giftcard you earned from the previous transaction on your next transaction? Similar to rolling ECBs or RRs.

    • Mina says:

Yes, you can. I do that all the time when they have good grocery/GC deals. The only transaction that you cannot use it on is to pay for the transaction that is earning you that card. In other words - you can earn one, use it to pay for the next purchase, even if it is also earning a new card.

  22. Allison 2 says:

Do the gift card deals stack? For example…if I buy the Sony Blu Ray Player for $149 do I get the $20 gift card that’s advertised and the $10 gift card for spending more than $100???

  23. Lara says:

Does anyone know if that is a good deal on the Tom-Tom? I am looking to get my husband a GPS and was acutally looking at one of the Garmins for $115 at Sam’s. Just don’t know if standing in line at Target that early in the morning is worth it.

Also… what other stores price match? Does Walmart and do they the stores price match for other stores BF deals?

    • Being Nice says:

The TOMTOM reviews are not so good on that model, google it. As for price matching - Walmart will do it but Target has already stated they will not price match BF ads. Call your local store for better clarification.

Target does offer a 7 day price match for thier sales, so heads up for those who might want something and not want to wait in line. Check out gottadeal for more black friday ads and information

    • Carrie says:

From the info I have gathered Garmin is better than TOM TOM. Better to spend a little extra for the quality.

    • Lara says:

Thanks for both responses…. guess I will stick with the Garmin. Also thanks for the clarification on the price matching… Just don’t think I can stand in line that early in the morning this year. It was much easier since I was alreayd up feeding a baby, I just got up and moved after that.. this year I will sleep in :)

      • Lara says:

My hubby and I have had tomtom and Garmin and while we liked our TomTom okay, we are thrilled with our Garmin so that is the route I would go. Good luck!

  24. DALLAS METRO- TEXAS says:

FYI- not sure where to post this , but target wouldn’t match the blu-ray/ dvd deal.
    (monster’s inc and up)

    • Maxine says:

Go back to the original post and read comments. Several have had the same problem. Many have found that the UP was on sale for less then only had to have Monsters Inc price matched. Hope this helps.

  25. Jennifer M. says:

I have never, ever done Black Friday, and this year I am very tempted…just for the Dual Screen DVD player for $88…

And by the way, anyone else look at the full ad? I’m wondering if the $3 Chefmate appliances are going to be a “get what you pay for” item…?

    • Maxine says:

The dual screen DVD player went on sale after Black Friday for the same price last year( I tried to get it on Black Friday but I was not in line early enough, then two weeks before Christmas it went back on sale for the same price, not sure it will happen again, but try not to sweat it if you do not get it the first time around). You are going to see everyone with a sale on Chefmate around the same price. I have the toaster from 2 years ago. Got it a Wal-mart for $2.88 on Black Friday (still works).

  26. janicekay says:

wow this is great this will be my first black friday fully empowered.. thanks.

  27. body armor says:

This year Black Friday is going to be mind blowing given how we are still coming out of this bad economy. I almost cannot wait to see all the amazing deals I am going to get.
