I wasn’t able to use more than one “$2 off any Revlon color cosmetic coupon” tonight. Was trying to buy 3 Moon Drops lipsticks. The cashier was really nice to even try multiple transactions. And, that didn’t even work. He said b/c the coupon says “one coupon per purchase. Any other use constitutes fraud” their system won’t take more than 1.

One free lipstick isn’t bad, though! Merry Christmas!

My CVS wouldn’t accept the Almay or Revlon $1 off coupons. Even though they were manufacturer’s coupons the cashier said they wouldn’t scan. I don’t know if anyone else had this issue but it’s just an FYI.

I found the items I needed at a CVS in a small town on my way to visit my parents for Christmas. I am new to CVSing….I bought the items in 2 transactions…spent less than $4 and ended up with about $15 of ECBs.

I think it depends on what state you live in. Where I am, you can NOT pay for tax with Qs or ECBs. It will always beep you. Not only that, but you have to pay tax on the whole pre-tax purchase. Good luck.

The Tennessean newspaper (Wednesday)has a $5 off $20 coupon as well as a $4 off wyb 3 12 packs of Coke products. I was able to use both for a great deal. I also received the $5 off $15 coupon, which expires on 12/26.

new to cvsing: quick question. can i use multiple ecb’s on one item or is it one ecb per item bought? for example:
buy
(2) regular price deodarants 10.00

use 1 ecb 4.00
use 1 ecb 3.00
use 1 ecb 3.00
can this work or do i need to buy item per equally valued ecb?

Will that contact solution coupon work? I see it has a Canadian address on it. Has anyone tried it? I hate to use it if CVS won’t be able to get reimbursed for it.

Well the rule of thumb for me is “well, Michelle, I guess you’ll be here another hour..” ;) I don’t know about the rest of you, but I usually take about an hour and a half every time because I always have to redo everything.

I had an interesting experience at the CVS.

I got excited and went to the store two day’s early. Undetered, because I had brought my rain checks, I was able to salvage the trip and got my rain check items and those ECB’s. Which was important b/c my ECB’s were expiring on 12/19. I did pretty well for ‘winging’ it and got $9 ECB’s (3/ $3).

I went back yesterday and found they were out of the Nivea. Since I am new, I had a hard time figuring out an alternative. I was able to put a few things together differently, but I paid more OOP than I wanted too.

I wondered how to figure out a replacement scenio? Is there a ‘rule of thumb’?

I did pretty good tonight. I was hoping to get some thermacare wraps because I love them but I never buy them for myself because they’re so expensive but I went to 2 stores (who both get their shipments on tuesdays) and only found 1.

I bought:

4 glade scented oils refills = $3 each
1 thermacare wrap = $2.49
1 calendar = $1
1 merry brite candy cane rope lights = $5
- $5/$20
- (3) $2 off glade scented oils refills (peelies, could only find 3 of them)
- $1 off thermacare
- $8 ECBs
subtotal: $.49, tax: $.37, total oop: $.86, saved: $31.95, ecbs earned: $6.49

I know it’s sad but I kind of hate having to spend that much oop. I would’ve spent 50 cents on something else, but there aren’t many things that cheap in cvs. I really love rope lights, so I decided to get them and a calendar (for my aunt who has a wall of them) for next to nothing. I did have a problem with the lights though, they were marked on the package as $9.99 and were marked 50% off but rang up $6.49. Somehow the cashier didn’t seem to understand that that wasn’t 50% off of $9.99… but the problem was that it rang up $12.99 not $9.99.

I have been to 2 CVSs (Ballentine and Irmo) today and can not find any thermacare wraps or Nivea. Any suggestions?

I have signed up for CVS emails but am not getting them. I used to but they must be blocked. I re-entered my info and linked my card to my email address again last week, yet no emails. What is the email address their info and specials come from so I can add to my safe senders?

My CVS will not take the Almay coupon because it says for a color cosmetic (eye shadow, powder, etc). I got black mascara.

How do you work it so you don’t have to pay tax? I haven’t figured that part out yet. My local CVS employees and Manager are NOT friendly and make me give them all my q’s and ECB’s at one time. Also, they would not take my q’s that I printed from Target. They said it was a “Target” q . . I even pointed out that it clearly states at the top “Manufacturer Coupon”.

I found a BOGO q stuck to a Glade candle jar, but the other stuck-on q’s were .50/1

Was able to print a 5/15$ and a $1 Bag Tag ECB in store

Got

Need to go back to earn back some ECB’s on the ThermaCares…they were all out..

I actually messed up and handed the coupons in the wrong order so that I had to pay $1 more in tax, but if I hadn’t done that stupid thing…

Speaking of tax…I have changed the way I work the scenarios so that I use the Manuf. q’s to pay for the tax.. Before I was just subtracting the coupons from the subtotal and paying with ECBs from there-then stuck paying real money for the tax…but since it finally dawned on me to use the man. q in this way it makes it more fun :)

I only have problems with coupons.com and only at work. From what I understand, our firewall is able to block them from printing. I have tried installing the software and everything. I can print them at home (I work off a laptop) but not at work. That might be your problem (if you are trying from work that is).

I have gathered up most of my free stuff for a friend of mine’s son. She was baffled with the big box of things I collected with coupons and freebies. We went to rite aid and Kroger’s together so I could show her how to do it and she just couldn’t believe it. We bought a bunch of stuff at Rite Aid and her OOP came up to $5 and something. Then she had one check rebates for other things that came out to being $7.99. I love showing her how cool it is!

I have only had a problem using these coupons at Walmart. I pushed so they took it. The manager…or someone that was helping my cashier….said she didn’t think Walmart would get reimbursed. I said “well it says Manufacturer coupon on it so Walmart will”. she then took it to someone else and they said that if it will scan, then take it. It scanned but she had to put in the amount. She then said “I dont think Walmart will get their money back though”. I didn’t say anything because it worked. I have had to tell many cashiers that if it says Manufacturer Coupon on it, it is a Manufacturer’s coupon. Not Target. Yes I think it is pretty bad that Target has put their logo on it to confused customers and other stores but they DID supply the coupon so I can understand.

I printed 5 coupons from the same computer with a different security code on each. After I printed the first one I chose the option to close the window & the hit the back button twice. When I got to the original form with my info on it I hit submit & then I got another coupon with a different security code. I have used them & it worked great!

I tried again at my regular CVS and they also gave me a hard time about it. I asked the cashier why he wouldn’t take it and he said “because it beeped.” (????) I argued and they finally agreed to take just one. I guess it’s still a good deal, but it annoys me that they act like you’re trying to do something wrong.

Mine wouldn’t take the Q’s either and they were VERY RUDE about it too. And there wasn’t even anyone in line behind me. AND, they were out of the Thermacares. I am seriously ticked about it.!
