This deal is over!

There is a great deal on Fannie May Chocolates!  Use code 10567 to get $25 off any $25 purchase (if you pick something under $25 it will still work).  You will only have to pay $9.25 for shipping!

There are a few things $24.99 or less so you could have 1 lb of chocolates for $9.25.  You can also Create an Assortment of your favorites and get 1 lb for $10.24!

(thanks Amy!!!)

ummm… they look good

Go through ebates and get 8% cash back (thanks Tegan!)

Update: You will see the discount as the very last step in ordering.  Shipping does vary based on where you live (it was $7.25 for me :) )

23 minutes later I finally am told that my credit card will be refunded. Claims shipment has already gone out (although their website says differently) and I was told to refuse it (but the CSR was not sure if signature is required, so it may get dumped on my porch). So their CSR time, plus double shipping and restocking costs on Fannie May's end....seems like they would just take my $7.25 and be done with it. Ditto the above comments about NEVER buying their chocolate!!
  • Rae
Boo. Had $90 in pending charges on my CC this morning - spoke to "Lecretia" in customer service who is refunding my $$. She gave me the same "that's not our code" line. Oh, well!
  • cindy
Spoke to a manager. They will not be honoring any of the coupons with that code. It seems that several accounts were charged full price. She stated that you are more than welcome to cancel order. They will not be refunding any money. They will cancel order if you call before it goes out. I'm not sure how they send a receipt for one thing and then charge your account another without your knowledge.
  • Samy
I just ordered online and code was expired. I am very disappointed. I will call them tomorrow morning to let them know I got discount code on this website just today and it already doesn't work?????????
  • Amy
I just called customer service for the 5th time - this time i got yet another response. The code is for testing purposes only and should have never been released. Apparently at 6am this morning communication went out to all employees and the other 4 customer service reps I talked to didn't get THAT memo!!! I am still showing a deduction from my bank account - how lovely that I will now need to watch my account like crazy for the next month to make sure they don't charge the other $37 to my account come 12/14 when i wanted the other order to ship. argh! I will never do business with Fannie May after this disaster!
  • Kristen P
I never got my order placed, but did get as far as entering my information (mailing address and email) and I left the boxes checked that I wanted to received future offers - well, a couple of hours ago, I received an email from them about dancing chocolates and free shipping, but when I looed at the fine print at the bottom there was a code for $25 off any order for the next 3 days - now this is a different code so I'm assuming that it a one time use (maybe the one here was originally and that's why all the trouble) and i'm not going to post it - however, I';m guessing that if you sgn up to receive their emails you might get one too - I might get some cheep chocolates after all :)
  • Amy B.
My email says the same thing. When you try to apply the code it says the purchase must be $40 in non-sale items.
  • Kristen P
oh well - I hadn't tried it yet to find out - thanks
  • sarah
i just went online to the website and signed in under the account i had to create to order this in the first place and my order is still there and is still showing the discount. check your account with them and maybe youll get lucky.
  • Traci
I just noticed it said "dead" instead of "deal". ;-)

Sorry this did not work out...
  • Ginnie
I had to cancel both of my orders. Charged me full price. I called and they said that the code was not from them, it was a made up code that was put out. But wonder why it worked on the site.
So they canceled my order. I will have to watch my bank account to see if they refund the amounts taken out.
  • Amy
I just called and they said my first order went through for $10.24, the second order is not in the system yet. When i submitted the second order, the site was very slow and I kept getting an error, I cofirmed the order for $12, but when I got the confirmation it was $37!! So I agree to $12, but they can charge you $37???

She stated it is "one per person, per day" and that is what most companies "do" or it would be "too good to be true". Customer Service at it's highest I guess. I am NOT paying $37 for an order of chocolate, so i have to call back later tonight for a 4th time to try and get this resolved. What a pain!

I asked about the code being invalid or fraudlant and they would not comment on anyone else's order or comments on a website. She said my order was $10.24 and that's that. Guess I will have to really watch my bank account. Boo to Fannie May!
  • Jenn
I just got off the phone with them. I had made 4 separate orders this afternoon at 1:30 and got an email conformation for all 4. However, when I called to check the man told me that I would be charged the full amount for 3 of them or I could cancel. (Only 1 deal per customer.) He did credit me $25.00 for 1. So I got one box of chocolates for $7.25!! But I would have liked all four! One is better than none!
  • Jess
I called and they are honoring it. So I am getting it for 7.24 (took of all $25 when I called)
  • Aymie
Consider yourself very lucky. Called twice spoke to two different people both said that they have been bumbarded with calls and cannot honor it because it was a fraudulent code. I would double check they dont charge you full price...
  • Melissa Herndon
they went back and charged my credit card the full 32.24 instead of the 7.25. not happy
  • Jennifer
Just called and they said it was a fradulant code and they are trying to resolve their system. We will see ladies.
  • Lisa
I can't get anything to work. Oh well.
  • ashley
Legally, I wonder if they can change the amount charged to my card? I have the receipt that shows I only agreed to 7.25....
  • keb2009
if they are like most reputable online companies they will cancel the order completely if they can't complete it at said price. worse case the $7.95 or whatever will only memo post to your account and will eventually fall off.
  • ashley
It looks like they must be canceling the orders...I'm guessing. I swear the 7.25 had been pulled from the account earlier. But, now nothing has been pulled from the count so I bet they are canceling it.
  • Melissa Herndon
they charged the full amount on my credit card of 32.24 instead of the 7.25 it said on my order confirmation. not happy
  • Sarah
im interested in knowing the same thing- i have a receipt too. im checking my bank now.
  • Sarah
Looks like this is a dead deal. Bummer!!
  • beth
spent the last 2 hours (off & on) trying to make this work, but I keep getting an error message
  • Toni
I will be so ticked if I don't get my gift! Its for a birthday dang it! :)

Should we call customer service or just wait to send an email? If you got a confirmation email, then they have to honor it right????

Basically, I need to know if I need to figure out another gift or if the one I just ordered will actually be shipped at my quoted price...grr!!
  • Aymie
They dont have to honor it. It was a mistake on their part, yes, but they are going to be losing a lot of money with all the people that had this happen to...
  • Sally
Well if this is the way they are going to treat people I don't care how good their candy is I will no longer be ordering anything from them. This is just very wrong of them.
  • Mina
I understand your disappointment in missing out on an expected "deal", but I don't think they are treating people badly. If the code was only issued to a customer who met specific qualifications, and was never intended to be released or used by the general public, then they are under no obligation to take honor the code for anyone other than the parties for which it was intended. It doesn't matter if their computers were not able to catch misuse until they were bombarded by them.

It's not that most of the people who were using it were intentionally doing anything wrong. The person who released the private code (probably thinking they were doing others a favor), or prodded the system to find a glitch, is the one responsible for creating unreasonable expectations in several thousand people. If the company chooses not to give away possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of their products because one person did something fraudulent, that's their choice. As long as any charges are promptly refunded, nobody trying to use that code lost anything. The company still has the expense of the manhours of sorting out the mess created by whoever released that code.

These things happen. When we read about deals like this online, it can be difficult to tell if they are legitimate. The news becomes viral very quickly, and can seem like a true offer, even when it's not. I know Jenny tries to screen deals as well as can before she posts them, but occasionally some bad apples still slip by. It's up to each reader to use his own best judgment and to understand that sometimes things just don't work the way we hope - especially the super deals.
  • Lil
I also have been trying to place order for over an hour. I didn't see where to put the code in. Both the key code area and the gift/coupon area said invalid. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks
  • Jamie
It's a dead code now, but if you click on the new deal on the home page you can still get the chocolates for half. If you spend $29 or more then send you a free 1 lb. The create your own assortment has a $32 option. You don't get to pick your free 1 lb, they add that once you put the code 10633 in. I did go thru ebates to get 8% back. Hope that helps.
  • It won't let me use the code at all. Tells me it's expired :(.
  • And now I see everyone's comments that it's a dead code, after I've picked out something to buy and placed it in my cart :(. Oh well, won't buy from them...
  • Jess
I just checked my credit card on line and it is being charged $32.34. I have an e-mail conformation for $7.25. I guess that I should call.....
  • Aymie
Yes call I had the exact same problem... She canceled my order... They are quick to charge and slow to return the money! (It takes 7-10 business days to get refunded but only a few minutes to get charged!)
  • Christine A
they told me after I called to check that nothing with this code is going to be processed>>>> hmmmmm
  • Lara
That stinks..... it is the perfect gift for my grandma but I am too cheap to acutally pay full price... now back to the drawing board...
  • Michelle in Martinez
if this was in "illegal" code, where did it originate from?
  • marina
I'm finding it hard to believe that this was an "illegal" code because their website accepted and recognized it. Maybe they didn't anticipate so many people getting free chocolate. LOL Damage control!!
  • Kimberly
I think it is a dead deal, I keep getting invalid code although initially it looked fine. Ah well, Nana will just have to be satisfied with that puzzle after all.
  • T'fani
The orders placed will be charged back the $25 (that is what the person I spoke with informed me) - call and check on your order and make sure they do not intend to charge the additional $25
  • ashley
Wow.... this will be interesting! I've already received an email confirmation of my order and everything. Plus, on my bank's website I can see where my card has already been charged, the amount of $7.25. If they don't honor the code let's hope they don't charge me full price!!! I'll be mad if they cancel the order, but I will be even more angry if they attempt to charge full price!
  • Aymie
I got an email confirmation stating I was charged $7.25 but my bank account shows they charged me $32.24.
    I am very irritated.
I was thinking they would have honored it and the lady told me no... does anyone else have this problem?
  • Melissa Herndon
they charged my credit card 32.24 even though the confirmation said they charged me 7.25 on the order confirmation. not happy
  • Kati
I keep getting an "invalid" code message. Maybe they already disabled it?
  • Amy
Has the promo code changed? It keeps saying it has expired.
  • Sarah
i will be highly irritated if they cancel my order. I placed it two hours ago and have already been sent an email confirmation for the order. And btw- cards already been charged. Hmm.
  • Stephanie
How is the code illegal if it actually works. The $25 off is showing and working for people. That makes NO sense at all.
  • Jeanne
I'm not sure but I have called three times now (in three different departments) and all three have told me that they will not be honoring this code and when their systems are updated (which is every four hours) the orders with this code will not go through. I am sure that is thousands of orders so it will be interesting to see what happens....
  • Sarah
do you think that means new orders- those placed after the system updates or previous orders that have already gone through?
  • Jeanne
I bet if you received an email confirming your order and your card has been charged then they will have to honor it....I placed mine a hour ago and did not receive a confirmation of my order even through I have the receipt printed of my final order.....I guess the ones who got it were the lucky ones....I guess you can't always get the great deals....still love the site
  • Sarah
    true jeanne, true.
  • Stephanie
You mean they won't honor the $25 of $25 purchase??
  • Jeanne
nope...its not a real code or a code that wasn't suppose to be given out...either way its a no go!!!
  • Jessica
I was told by customer service that they won't be honoring this coupon the lady told me they would not charge my card but to check back in 4 hours to make sure it wasn't charged! Bummer that was a great deal.
  • Jeanne
    same with me
  • Stephanie
Oh that is awful! I have been trying for an hour (while multi-tasking) trying to use this stupid site to get an order of chocolate. Darn it!
  • April
    same here!
  • Jeanne
Just talked to customer service about an order that I just placed. Wasn't sure if it had charged my credit card or not due to a error message on final page. They told me that they are having problems with the payment and they are not sure if the orders that are being placed right now will take or not and to call back in two and half hours (5:30 pm) and they will be able to tell me then. They only update their database every four hours..
  • Jeanne
So I wanted to place another order so I would just called to place an order and when I got to the promotion code the rep came back and told me that 10567 was an illegal code that got posted on the web and that they are not taking it. SO it will be interesting to see if my first purchase went through along with everyone elses. Has anyone else been told this?
  • ashley
^^ It wouldn't let me use both codes, I was only able to use the $25 off $25 code. When I tried toenter the free shipping code, the $25 code was taken off!
  • Sarah
Worked for me after about 10 tries...They must be overloaded.
  • Stephanie
So how can you get $25 off $25 purchase AND free shipping?
  • Cynthia
I am delighted to find that they are listed on freeshipping.com. If you click through their site, you can get your shipping refunded, up to $10.
  • ashley
Well, it took 4 tries to order it, but I finally got my pound of chocolate for only 7.25!! Great gift!
  • ashley
I'm getting the shopping cart message error over and over again. Their site must be swamped!
  • April
Anyone else finding the website running really slow?
  • Heidi
This is wonderful! Thanks so much!!!
  • Jeanne
Not sure how to use more then one code...doesn't show both discounts
  • Michelle in Martinez
I keep getting this error message:
This form couldn't be processed due to following reasons:
Error during shopping cart recalculation occured.

    this just isn't my day!
  • Jenny
I did read that you can't have any sale merchandise in your cart. Could that be it?
  • Michelle in Martinez
    now it says this:
The promotion code you entered is valid, but has a minimum purchase amount of $1.00 for non-sale priced items.

the create your assortment is only 99 cents. the site is moving so slowly, i will try again later with a different order. thanks for sharing this!
  • Michelle in Martinez
well, i selected the create an assortment that you suggested. i will try to take it out and get something different. maybe that's the problem?
  • Jennifer
Had the same error message....Went back to the beginning and started again and it worked the second time
  • ashley
    Awesome Jenny!
  • Lindsey
