Publix:

It is reported that some stores still have chicken Breasts marked at last weeks sale price of $1.79 lb.  It’s worth a check in the meat department if you are out! (thanks Melanie!)

CVS:

Zhu Zhu Hamsters are going to be on sale starting Sunday, however many stores got a shipment in yesterday and are putting them in the stores now.  If this is on your Christmas list, you might not want to wait till Sunday. (thanks Stacey!)

        If you are in SC and can wait until Saturday they are doing double fuel perks. I usually shop on Wednesday BUT since BiLo counts q’s as $ toward fuel perks if I wait until Saturday I’ll get .10 per gallon as opposed to .05. (In my mini-van that is the difference between $1 off of a tank of gas and $2 off the tank)

          I am in NC and my local Bi-Lo (which is about 30 min away)does not have gas pumps… I am curious to how the Gas thing works…. do you earn money everytime you use a coupon or something?

            fuel perks is bilos new incentive program. you can probably read all about it on their web site, but essentially they give you a 5 cent credit for every 50 dollars you spend in their store. Here in SC our credits are redeemable at our local Spinx gas stations using the new Bilo bonus cards we were given when the program started. You can accumulate these credits over time- for instance I just got 30 cents off each gallon I pumped this week. Sometimes they do “double your fuel perks” events, like kathi says they are doing this weekend. HTH

        The coupon has “DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE ” at the top….will they still let us do that….if not they aren’t free….but $.50!!!

        I looked at my CVS and they were 17.99 but there weren’t any on the shelf.

          The playsets are $17.99 and the hamsters are $9.99. Sounds like your store had shelf mismarked.

      With the CVS ECB…If it is under my mom’s name and I have one of her cards (I am referring to the $3 off $15 coupon they are currently offering) am I still able to use it? Can anyone answer that? I am trying to get start with the ECB stuff. Thanks to anyone who can help.

        Yes, my daughter used to use mine all the time. I made her get her own though because the deals that are “x number to a household” if she used it then I couldn’t. I figure her being in college is close enough to her own household

            LOL I have been CVS-ing for quite awhile and this is one skill my daughter insisted I teach her before she moved out because she has become accustomed to name brand toiletries and knew the only way to afford them on a college student budget is to be good at playing the drug store game! Sounds as if you will have to teach your mom how to CVS before you move out!

      I purchased the Zhu Zhu pet at CVS on Tuesday. It was $9.99. Some stores in the Columbia area got them on yesterday.

          I purchased 4 at the CVS on Hardscrabble Rd in Columbia on Wednesday. I happened to be in there for something else and they had just gotten a truck and the manager dumped them in a round bin near the front check out. They are $9.99 there. I know the new CVS on Clemson is waiting to put theirs out on Sunday- the manager there told me that they got a memo instructing them to hold them until Sunday. Another CVS near my house in West Columbia on Emmanuel Church Rd was planning on putting theirs out when they got the truck on Wednesday. Obviously, some stores didn’t get the memo! HTH

              I believe each store was to get 24. One of those little round bins was full on Wednesday but I’m not sure what’s left now. I’m sure the manager that sold them to me didn’t have a clue as to what she had or she didn’t get the memo because they were supposed to hold them for Sunday and limit (2) per person. If they don’t have any left go to the new store on Clemson because they were holding them for Sunday.

      How much are the Zhu Zhu hamsters going on sale for?

        I spoke to three stores and they are being VERY tight lipped about this deal (as they should be). However, I do know the three stores I spoke to claim that either (a) they have them , and WILL NOT be putting them out until opening at 7am on Sunday, or (b), they haven’t received shipment yet, but plan to get it on late Saturday/early Sunday. The price I was told was $9.99, and that they were going to be putting a limit on them as well!

      For those that live in the Northeast area. Food Lion on Clemson road is closing Friday and moving. Yesterday they had everything marked down to 60%. It was pouring raining and then parking lot was full yesterday so i did not venture in. But it might be worth checking out.

      Another freebie alert- CVS’s December clip free coupon book has a $2.50 q for the Neosporin Lip Health (they did this in October too). Combine that with the $3 printable manu q and it is free. BTW, I read that they reset the $3 printable. Anyone been able to print it?

      My Publix also had really nice looking 10 lb bags of potatoes for 4.99 which is a decent price. Then when the cahsier rang me up, they came up 3.98!

          Please be careful! Company is expecting a recall on these pets. My own local TV News program explained that there are poisonous areas of these pets! (You’d think they’d recall them first, but for whatever reason, they’re going through with the sale first!)

      If any of you have a Dollar General Market in your area (mostly in Middle Tennessee), the boneless chicken breasts and chicken tenders (all Tyson) are $1.85/pound right now. They also have a great in store coupon book where you can get a dozen eggs, a loaf of bread, a 2 liter, and a 6-pack of toilet paper free with a $10 purchase. I have about 8 of these coupon books – the same freebies ran in November – so I break my purchase up into $10 increments and let my kids go through the line individually. The freebies are store brand, but who cares for free!!! I see major chicken purchases and a lot of freebies in my future!!!!!

      Most of the CVS stores in Birmingham, Al claim to have the zhu zhu pets but will hold them until Sunday. My friend happened to be near a store in N. Birmingham and was able to get the last 3 (her daughter was with her) they have 2 per customer limit. Thanks so much for the heads up as I thought this was not going to happen this year! Jenny, I know the Lord will bless you hopefully 100 fold for all that you do for us! Thank you so very much!

        I have had them do that a few time but the thing at my Publix (Duncan SC) is that they are not doubling ‘Do Not Double’ coupons. I’ve started driving further to another Publix to shop.

        i noticed that my store did have them as well! I picked up some more, but it was their last weeks ad. also for us jacksonville publix shoppers in my posting above about not being able to get an overage for an item it was at the normandy crossing publix i am waiting to hear back from their customer service.

        I just went to Bilo too…actually posted a comment earlier…I was disappointed to find all the steamers for $2 each..so with the coupon still $1 each. The boxed regular Green Giant were $1 a piece but not steamers.

          “my” Bilos (mostly the one in Sangaree and then one on Trolley Rd-both in Summerville do double even the ones that say not to (except if that goes over the purchase price–so a .55 q on a $1 item, they will only add .45) the computer does that automatically.

        here in anderson every cvs seemed to not have the slightest clue what a zhu zhu hamster is! so im taking that as a no they aren’t getting any

          Not necessarily, my favorite employee at CVS here was telling me this afternoon that their store had gotten a shipment of Zhu-zhu’s last week and she thought they were “kind of cute” so she bought 2 for her niece; called her sister that night to ask if that would be something the niece would enjoy (cause otherwise she’d return the next day) and her sister could NOT believe that she’d managed to snag 2 for the price mom was willing to pay for 1–the mom had seen them on ebay for $100 for ONE but couldn’t afford that. The aunt says if she’d not had a “young-un” to buy for she would have completely overlooked the little critters!

      I stopped in at a CVS here in Atlanta and no zhu zhus yet. I did ask and all the manager would say was that they go on sale on Sunday. They had gotten one call already. I have a feeling it’s going to get ugly at CVS when their ad comes out and everybody knows about it.

      Thankfully, my two-year-old son doesn’t even know what they are so I don’t need them. But I thought my nephews might so I checked anyway. Good luck to those of you in the hunt!

      Zhu Zhu pets are potentially DANGEROUS!!!!

      There are significant amounts of atimony ( a harmful chemical ) and tin found in these toys. Please go and check this out for yourself on Good Morning America’s website. Look on the right side of the page under “must-clicks” and also at the top of the page under “Hot Topics”. It’s worth every minute it takes you to read this!!!!
