Today throuugh 12/25, using code SANTA you can get 80% off your entire purchase on Restaurant.com.

Whether you want a cheap lunch or dinner out, or you want to give a general gift certificate for someone else you can get:

$25 dining or gift certificates for $2

$10 dining or gift certificates for .60 cents

Think of them as a $10 off or $25 off coupon. Also note that every store has different requirements. In general though savings $25 off a $35 or $50 meal is still wonderful! Or saving $10 off a $15 meal, no complaints here!!

    Jenny, are these for real. This just seems too good to be true. My husband and I want to try Alodia’s but are a little skeptical about buying these gift certificates. what are your thoughts?

      We have used these at several different restaurants around Columbia, and they work fine. Essentially they are coupons, because in order to use the $25 one, you have to spend over $35. There have never been problems when we’ve used them, and we actually bought a few from Alodia’s the last promotion. Hope my comment helps!

    Has anyone used these gift cards before? I bought 6 100.00 ones and didn’t see anything that states the same as the restrant ones any one know?

    I’ve used restaurant.com for about 4 years now. For our family, they are a great deal. There is usually a minimum you need to purchase; e.g., if you buy a $25 certificate, then you will need to spend $35 (does not include alcohol). Most places will also automatically add an 18% gratuity (on the before certificate amount) to your bill. We usually buy certificates to Japanese restaurants so that we can enjoy sushi at a reduced price. One of our latest purchases: Total before certificate was approx. $42.00…add 18% tip of 7.56 = $49.56. Subtract the $25 and we paid $24.56. Certainly not the thriftiest meal out there, but we were able to eat what we like for a reduced amount of $$. We buy about 10 certificates/year minimum and have never had any problems.

    I’ve been using restaurant.com certificates for over a year now. I found out about them through my Borders Rewards program, they send me codes for the discounts. This is legitimate. You do have to make sure you read everything to know what is involved. Some places require you to spend a minimum of $50. And as Rhoda mentioned, many places add an automatic 18 percent gratuity before the certificate amount. With that said, we’ve enjoyed some great meals thanks to Restaurant.com. You’re not going to get a $50 entree for $1 but it is much cheaper than full price. And they offer deals at restaurants all over the country. When we vacationed near Destine, we were able to use three different Restaurant.com certificates, saving us a tidy sum.

    Im a little skeptical about the giftcards too. A few weeks ago I bought the discounted giftcertificates. It was the first time and I was really excited. I guess I assumed they would be like giftcards. I just didnt read it correctly. Anyways I do have a question on the new giftcards. Are they used as actual giftcards or do they have the same requirements as the certificates? I looked everywhere to make sure the giftcards didnt have the same stipulations so I went ahead and purchased one $50 giftcard and one $100 giftcard (for a total of $13).

      The gift cards have the same stipulations as the certificates. I called the customer service to find out that the card do not expire and you will have to redeem the card online for the restaurant certificate.

    I bought a card for Fat Buddies…original deal $50 of food for $20, but with the great 80% off deal, it was $4 (Wow)…However, I thought I’d read all the ‘fine print’, and after I’d put in my credit card info, I got a pop up that said it could only be used on a bill totaling at least $100 before taxes, and that no more than 8 people could be in our party.

    NOT the deal I’d hoped for, but I only lost $4….oh well. I more than made up for that this week at BiLo and Ingles ;-)

    I am trying to make my first purchase from restaurants.com but when I get to checkout I am still being charged the full $20.00 for the coupon. Where does the 80% discount come in?
