If you are lucky enough to live near a Scholastic Warehouse, they are having their winter warehouse sale starting tomorrow Go here to find a sale near you. To be able to shop you are supposed to be a home educator or paid teacher, however they do not check at all so you can sign up and just go.

If you “Pre Register” to attend you will get a $10 off $60 purchase coupon.  Most items are a couple of dollars so you might find it hard to reach the $60 but it’s good to take with you just in case you go crazy shopping!

I have never heard of this before, and my warehouse is less than 35 miles from my front door! Thanks so much Jenny! I think of all the couponing and mass collection I've done, this was my favorite find so far! An entire warehouse with books floor to ceiling!? I could have pulled in a cot and stayed for days! LOL Got tons of great deals for my babies, a year's worth of birthday presents for friends, and books for 11 foster children! What an amazing find!

Do these sell out quickly like a consignment sale or will there still be plenty this Saturday?
  • Lisa
the warehouse is packed of books. . the warehouse is a full working warehouse just open to the public four times a year.

At the sale in Charlotte, NC they were handing out coupons at checkout for additional savings the last 3 days of the sale.
The Fill-a-Box deal for $24 is awesome!
There were people with strollers in the sale today for those that are interested....

Does anyone know how the temperature is in the one in West Columbia? I read on their site that some warehouses can be cold and I am taking my 9 month with me.

It was warm while I was there also. I found some GREAT books and they were all 50% off except for one, and it was 25% off. It is definitely worth your time! I drove an hour to get there, but it was so wonderful to get so many books this cheap!!!

We went today. It was warm inside, but there is no stroller access. They do have shopping carts.

This sounds like a great idea! However, I don't qualify to shop here. I'm a stay at home mom and would love to have new books for my three children. Any idea how I can get past this?

Do you volunteer at your children's schools? I noticed a place that said something like "parent organization official" and there's also an option for "other educator." I'm a former teacher, current SAHM. I still do plenty of teaching with my own children, and I am sure you do, too! :-)

Anyone can come to the sale. . Also, keep in mind that you can call the warehouse closest to you and sign up to volunteer. In exchange for your time you will get ten dollars an hour in the form of a gift voucher. .you also get the books at the discounted rate and can use the coupon on top of your volunteer time. it is a great opportunity!

This is the greatest sale! I never have trouble spending enough to use the coupon! I not only get great gifts for Christmas, but stock up for the year for birthday parties and special occasions. They not only have books for kids, but also for adults in addition to computer software, puzzles, games, arts and crafts and lots of goodies. It is their biggest sale of the year!

If you need books for children, DON'T miss this! As a teacher I go every time and stock up.....You can't beat the prices!
  • Lisa
You can also sign up to "volunteer" at the sales. As a volunteer you earn 10.00 per hour in a voucher to be used towards the purchase of books. I always do this and I get a ton of stuff, teacher gifts, birthday presents, etc.

I always love going to the sale. It is very hard to reach 60, but it can be done, they sell more than just books - pc games, calendars, etc.
