I know how you feel, Ashley. I have yet to walk out of WG with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I do okay, but still get confused on my running totals and am sure I gypped myself out of some savings the other day by having the checker subtotal. :P I feel like I wear the checkers out, too. I hate to make a nuisance of myself that way.

Can’t believe you lost your coupons, tho. Is that right?! Do you think they are going to submit them for products they didn’t even sell. Hmmmm.

I know I never work these deals to the highest savings, but I know that if I saved $ its a very very good thing! :) And yes, when you are getting all of that for the price of the diapers, you’ve done a good job! :)

Important Note: The $2 off Philips coupon in Walgreens December Booklet does not work for the Philips products that give you the $5 or $10 RR. It’s for an entirely different product and does state so, and the register unfortunately recognizes this.

Also, the $4 RR for Dulcolax is not for any size but only the smallest size. You can still get a good deal on it (I think free) but don’t get excited and think you can purchase the medium size that qualifies for the $5 or $10 RR and think it will also give you the $4 RR because it won’t.

I went in planning to do this deal:

2 Dulcolax $10
-Use $3/1 printable coupons
-Use $2/1 store coupons
(hoping to also get $4 RR for each)

3 Philips products $4
-Use $1/1 man. coupons
-Use $2/1 store coupons

I would have spent $30 (before coupons) so should have received $10 in RR. NOT!! The Philips store coupons don’t work and this size Dulcolax doesn’t give you the extra $4 RR. PLUS for me, I used the 15% discount so I didn’t even get the $5 RR for purchasing $20 worth because it made the Dulcolax $8.50 each. GRRRR! I really lost out on Walgreens today. I returned this entire deal but lost all my coupons (even though I returned them right then and there, they can’t give them back) plus somehow lost $4 RR I had in the mix.

I’ve yet to walk out from Walgreens successfully. My rolling RR plans always get messed up by them not having an item or something like this, not being the right coupon.

Not to sound negative, it was just a disappointing trip!

Tonight i went in with 2 transactions in mind. Using 15% off for each.

Huggies 8.99-1.50 mc
2 colgate @ 2/$5.00 2- .75mc (wg had a 1.50 off one cpn taped to box. I used those instead}

when totalling my first transaction my cashier (who i know) told me the RR would not print because i used my $5.00 wgr dollars and 7.00RR.
I told her go ahead and take my money and we will see. She was shocked that they printed. I used them on transaction 2. I told her to go to Southern savers and she would learn alot.
I love it when we teach them something.

Also in the 4 day sale is kashi cereal 2/$5. I have some coupons $1off that I have been waiting to use from the mailer that I will use this week.

And don’t forget that there is the free olay quench lotion rebates, I was planning on buying these to up my total to over $25 to get the $5 coupon

The recession payback game is still going on. You have to play the game and then at the end you can print a coupon. Choose hunts and a $1 off 3 will print making the sauces FREE!! My ? for walgreens is that the store coupon says limit 3. Does that mean 3 cans or 3 deals/9 cans?

i love how you put it. I was trying to get into CVSing/SCR/RR’s it is hard to grasp the concepts. I am blessed to get Qs through the newspaper my ma has a subscription for. Sometimes we do need to stop and think “while this could get me Free $ back…their might be someone else out there the actually needs a product for a certain condition they have or something like that”. (ie the tester Q for $30)

Good day at Wags, started with the 5 Wags dollars from last week.

1st I bought the Complete for 7.99 (less $1 peelie), and filler item (17 cents) used 5 wags dollars, paid $2.16, plus tax, got back 8RR

2nd, 2) Nivea for men, 6) Scotch Mailers, 1) Box of Puffs, 2) Cans of Olives, 2)filler items, used 8RR and coupons, paid 64 cents plus tax, got back 4RR and 5 Wags dollars.

Total oop with tax $3.97. Jenny thanks again for teaching me how to shop :)

There’s a mfr coupon from one of the Sundays that’s 1.00 off a 6-pack or larger. You can just get 1 9-pk, use the Wags Q and the $1.00 mfr Q, makes it $2.50. Sorry I don’t kow what date the mfr Q is from, but it expires 12/31. Maybe someone else out there knows when it came out…

The Holiday Activity Book was on the counter in the pharmacy at my WAGS. It has a $1.00 off Huggies and $2.00 off Band Aid that are great, plus a whole lot more. The book costs $.99.

You can only use 1 manufacturer’s coupon per item. A lot of the RR are actually manufacturer’s coupons. So if you have already used a manu on the items you are buying, the RR’s will not work.
The way to get around that is to buy some really cheap items that you don’t use coupons for. One item for each RR you are using.
For example: I bought three items, but I had manu coupons for each so I couldn’t use the RR’s to pay for the three items. I bought 4 $.33 candies and then the cash register would take the 4 RR’s that I had to pay for my 3 “real” items! Make sense?

this is the first time i’m planning a deal myself. The pros please let me know if i got it right and if it would work..
huggies diapers – $8.99 coupon- $2 rr-$2
olay body wash – $5.99
olay quench body lotion – $9.99 coupon- free body lotion with body wash
duracell batteries(i need them) – $2.99 coupon- 75 cents

total before coupons excluding sales tax = 27.96

out of pocket = $15.22
get back = $2 rr huggies and $5 rr for $25 before coupons.
for $8.22 i get huggies diapers, body wash , body lotion and batteries..
how is it for a start?

Hi everyone, I am new at this, and have a question. This past week at Walgreens, I bought all of the RR deals in one transaction and had 36 RR (total). When I went to check out the second time with a little over $40 worth of merchandise, the cashier said that she thought she could only use one of the RR coupons, so she scanned the highest one. Evidently, someone there earlier had tried to use several, and the register would only scan the first one, so I guess the cashier thought that you could only use one per transaction. Luckily for me, however, none of my RR’s would scan, so she had to manually enter them, and she entered all of them. I wanted to find out from you guys – can you only use one RR per transaction? My first trip was Thanksgiving week, and I am almost positive that I used more than one per transaction that time. Thanks!

Just got back from Walgreens. My purchase total was $29 and some change. I used the $5 RR earned from last week’s $25 purchase and a new $5 RR did NOT print. Just a heads up for everyone out there.

Walgreens is such a PAIN! Had I known that I wouldn’t get the $5 RR for my purchase I would have used it to make things a little more worthwhile. So, I bought the toilet paper, 3 cokes, 1 diaper, 3 Puffs, and 1 box of Turtles (which was more than enough for the $25 deal). Then, two $2 RR printed but no $5 RR. So, had I known this, I would have used the $5 RR on the toilet paper and Puffs and then bought other stuff for the $25 to make it worthwhile. I’m really considering not going there anymore, since they are a real pain (after I use my $4 in RR). CVS is so much easier and can be so much cheaper, if you plan it right. UGH!
