in the past, i had problems getting the rr and the mgr did the same thing…gave me the $5 the system should have printed out on a gift card. on a subsequent visit, there was another issue and the mgr said that she couldn’t do anything about it. i told her the other mgr had given me the rr on a gift card. she went ahead and did it. if she hadn’t, i was prepared to return my items and request my qs back.

today i was kind of apprehensive about trying the tide deal, but checked my supplies out and really didn’t need to work that one. i did the pepto deal, the p&g downy/cascade/febreeze deal and the nyquil/vicks/ (w/ 2 free puffs coupons). the cashier rang up my deals separately. then i used the 2 $10 rr to get: 2 honey nut cheerios, 1 gl milk, 2 honeys, hershey yorks pcs, hershey’s dark chocolate pcs, 3 yardley lavender soaps, 9pk angel soft tp and bag of cotton balls for 3.34. then i used my $5 rr from the cascade/febreeze and the $2 rr from the cereal and milk to buy 100 + 25 (bonus) advil and 2 pb m&ms…for .37

The problem with the deal scenario that Jenny set up is that the b1g1 q was buy a quench lotion get a BODY WASH free. The ad does not include it in the special deal. So what has been happening is that people were using that scenario but the total BEFORE coupons for the items was under $30 (since it was not counting the body wash toward the deal). So no Tide coupon.

I finally figured it out and got 2 always, 4 gillette items (there were b1g1 Q’s for gillette in one of the P&G inserts, but it expired 12/31). Paid about $16 w/o using RR’s and still got the Tide coupon. Jenny does an excellent job with scenarios but sometimes you have to take the time to figure it out yourself… Was just one of those times.

The store manager called me back also and said I really wasn’t supposed to get a coupon for the Tide because they should not print if the total went under $30.00 after coupons. But he said since it was confusing, he would give me a free bottle of tide if I came back by. Of course, this was the Walgreens way across town, so I just got a chance to go today and they did give me the free Tide, but I wasted a lot of gas making two trips over there!

I too plan to quit shopping at Walgreens. I ALWAYS have problems there. Sometimes I get nice cashiers & managers who just can’t do anything and sometimes rude ones that don’t care but either way, I have walked out unhappy so many times. Last week my RR didn’t print for the Zooth toothbrushes and I really wanted the Tide deal but don’t think I will bother. I have $10 in RR I think I will redeem tomorrow and be finised with them until they change their policies. I do agree we should all write corporate. I plan to do so. Maybe once they realize all their business is going to Rite Aid and CVS, they will change.

Yes, my first transaction did not print my tide coupon, the second transaction did though!! And I used coupons on both transactions. I paid oop 13 something on the second transaction but before coupons it was 35 something. and it printed my rr for tide. the first transaction did not though, however a manager was called over and she printed one for me! She was super nice and so was the cashier. It does not state before coupons! The problem seems to be with the olay body washes they are not ringing up as part of the pg deal,the quench lotion is, but not the body washes. So if you are getting the body washes that could be the problem. She said it was the newer olay washes that were not working. Hope this helps!!

I understand that pretty much sucked you didn’t get what you came for, but it wouldn’t have bothered me so much. He would’ve gotten there before me, so first is first. It ticks me off more having to deal with rude employees or “coupon haters”. I would’ve just gone and tried a different Walgreens.

Actually, it pisses me off when the other day I’m standing in line at the cosmetic counter to get a price check and the store manager walks off with the customer in front of me to help her with something. I stand there waiting for 4 minutes, and he never comes back. Finally, I start walking around kind of looking for him and he sees me down the aisle and then turns and goes to the back. Ugh!

I used to be a retail assistant manager for 4 years and NEVER treated my customers all these crazy ways! That must be why my customers would gush over how helpful I was. I certainly understand now that I’m a couponer. We have so much going on in our lives, and we want/need a pleasant shopping experience, but there’s just so much crap you run in to. It is so refreshing to get good customer service.

I went to the Goose Creek, SC Walgreens this morning and they had Suave Men’s 2 in 1 marked for clearance price of 1.39 but it rang up for only .62 and I had coupon for .50 off, only .12!!!

Here is my scenario. It DID produce a Tide coupon. I made sure to get plenty of product since it seems this is a “finicky” promotion.

Tampax- 6.99
2 Quench- 15.98
2 Gillete BW- 6.67
2 Crest- 5
2 Gillette Deo- 7.98
TOTAL= 42.62
Plus- 10.58 for Olay BW and Tampax

Grand Total – 53.20 plus tax and filler item

Coupons Used:
B1G1 Tampax
Free Quench wyb BW
2 Gillette Free BW wyb Deo
2 1 off Crest
2 1 off Olay
2 1 off Gillette Deo
10 RR

Final Total OOP 16.26 plus tax
and I will send in for the Quench Rebate.

Note: All of my coupons come out of the Sunday paper.

You should have politely said that the coupon didn’t expire for a while, and could you please have two so you could do the deal. I have made comments (nicely) to fellow couponers when shelves are scarce. It works…. there’s pleanty to go around!

I did this deal, but only once, and my WAGS had quite a few of them.

I used the RR’s on Nicorette Gum (110 pcs packs) that were on clearance fro 12.99, paired with $10 off coupon for 2.99 to give to my best friends who said that they were quitting this year!

I not only had luck with the Tide coupon printing… I found a nice Walgreens. I think I’m more excited about that!! I bought 2 Olay Quench Body lotions 2 Olay Regenerist Cleansers 1 Crest toothpaste
Used 2 coupons for the body lotion, 2 coupons for the cleansers, 1 coupon for the toothpaste. The tide coupon printed just like magic! They did not know how to do the rebate receipt but printed me a ‘electronic journal report’ which shows what I purchased. Guess I’ll see if Olay will take it for the rebate. My total was under $30.00 after all my coupons and it still printed for me. The nice walgreens is the new one out by Sandhills. There is also a nice CVS and soon to be Rite Aid there as well. Worth the drive to be treated nice. Hope that helps!

This guy at walgreen bought 4 bayer meters right in front of me, while i was trying to ask where they were located, since i could not find them. When I figured out where they were and going to get them, he was buying 4 more. i.e. he had bought all of them. I requested him if he could let me buy two and he said no. Can you believe that? I was so frustrated and I had to share that with someone. Thank you guys for listening.

I did this deal today, and it worked like a charm.. bought the bayer meter in the blue box, and the bayer meter in the green box, used 2 coupons, paid 2.10 in tax, got back 2- $5 RR and a $3 RR….

I’m in Summerville, SC….. gonna roll them for the Olay Rebate!

I thought the same thing you did, Lisa, that surely they wouldn’t refund the purchase price of the lotion if you had used a coupon and got it free already. So I opted not to try that, but bought two more bottles and just paid full price for them and sent that receipt off for the rebate. That way, I am getting three free bottles of lotion; I’m just not making an additional profit on it. I have no idea what they would actually do if you mailed in the receipt where you used the coupon, but would love to hear if they do honor it.

I sent a comment to corporate through their website on Dec. 26 right after I got home without getting my Tide coupon. Just got a call from the store manager (she said the complainant had be forwarded to her). She agreed with me that it shouldn’t matter if you use coupons or not as long as the subtotal for the Tide deal was more than $30. She offered to give me a free bottle of Tide if I returned to the store today. On my way soon!

Concerning the rebate on the Olay lotion, does anyone know if you can still get the rebate on that lotion if you used the coupon that got the lotion for free? That somehow doesn’t seem right, and I wasn’t sure if I should even mail it in.

I’m dreding going to WAGS now, especially with all the problems people are having with their q’s. I always have problems there any way. We ALL should let corportate know the poor experiences we have. I’m in Tennessee and even my sister in Florida has problems too. Sounds like corporate needs to do some training and/or get their act straight.

I didn’t have any problems at Walgreens tonight with any of my internet coupons! One even had the target sign on it – but it did say manufacturers coupon on it. I did have trouble at Publix, but at walgreens everything worked well!
