For me the gas is a better deal most of the time. The Greenbax are worth $1.50 a book at the gas pump all of the time; at my Pig gas station if you buy on Friday you also get .03 off a gallon. Since the price at the pump is competitive w/ the area gas stations AND I get greenbax it makes that a better deal.

I do buy a few loss leaders at the store and every now and again bread or something but 99% of the time use other stores for groceries

The Dixie crystals link says the campaign is over. We don’t have a PW here but DH is addicted to sweet tea lately so I was excited to get a deal on sugar!

LOL my 18, 19 yo next week would completely agree w/ you. When she was little she drove my sister NUTS when we were there “advertising” for the Pig
(Transcript from sister living 500 miles from the nearest PW who had taken my 2 yo daughter to the nearest grocery store to grab some final items for a birthday party while I stayed at her house with my son and 2 nephews:
Sis I wonder if they have___
DD Pig Wiggly would have it
Sis I need to go ask where it is
DD The lady at Pig Wiggly would know where it is; you bring us there, they will have it and will tell you where it is.)

FYI…..Piggly Wiggly mailed out coupons to some of its Charleston residents on yesterday. There were 2- $10 off 40 coupons(for use in February) and something else.

Forgot, we USED to buy all our gas at PW, now we get a full tank in our minivan (the car that holds 20 gallons to get all possible value) from Sunoco w/ our Fuelperks when we are getting ready to go on a trip or when some are getting ready to expire, whichever comes first.

PW’s vary on how they handle BOGOs too. At mine you have to get both to save anything (unlike my Bilo and Food Lion where you can buy one for half price)

I wish the Piggly Wiggly here offered Greenbax. I shop there sometimes because it’s a quarter mile from my house and the only grocery store within 30 miles. I try to only go in there if I need milk, eggs or if they have a really good sale on something. Otherwise I drive 30 miles once every week or 2 to a larger store like Kroger or Publix.

I tried shopping at Piggly Wiggly once. Went in for a couple BOGO items & found it was almost the same as the regular price at Publix or Bi-Lo. Haven’t set foot in there again, so I don’t have any Greenbax. Will keep an eye out for this sale you are talking about & see if its worth my while.
