That makes it $2 for $25 in savings!

Think of them as a $10 off or $25 off coupon. Also note that every store has different requirements. In general though savings $25 off a $35 or $50 meal is still wonderful! Or saving $10 off a $15 meal, no complaints here!!

    If you’ve checked it out before and they didn’t have a restaraunt in your area that you like, try again! I just checked it out again and they added one of my favorites. I got 4 $25 certificates for the restaurant for $8. How cool! We can go eat there four times now and spend a lot less!

    I had bought a bunch of these last year, and for Christmas, we gave one to each staff member at my son’s school. So I gave away “$150.00″ worth of certificates and it cost me a total of $4.00 (because of some other rebates/deals I had found).

    It felt so good to finally be able to do a little something for all the people at school that normally get left out. And since we normally can’t afford to buy any “extra” gifts, that made it feel even nicer.

    When I have looked at this site I have felt that maybe it is “too good to be true”. Anyone have any problems?

      Susan… I’ve bought numerous gift certificates from Restaurant.com several times over the past two years and have NEVER had any issues. They are a wonderful site! They “reload” the certificates at the first of every month, and we personally have used the certificates at least ten times (in addition to giving them as gifts) and have never had an issue, either with the site or with whichever restaurant we take them to. This is definitely a good thing!

      Susan, my in-laws use this website almost religiously! As long as you follow the stipulations specified by each restaurant, you will be just fine… and have a little more money in your pocket, too!

        They normally sell a $25 certificate for $10.

    I’m a restaurant.com newbie. I picked up from comments that you can’t use 2 certificates at one time but what if you buy like $100 certificate and the min purchase is only $35. Will the certificate cover it all so you don’t have to pay any extra? Just wanted to see if anyone have done this. I could take the whole family out! thanks

      Here is the catch everyone…(not really that bad)
      This offer actually equals about 40% to 50% off overall.
      Please consult this before buying…
      (it is a good site if used properly, jessica make sure to click on the small cirle next to the specific gift certificate you want to see what its requirements are because it is very unlikely that a 100 dollar gift certificate has a minimum of $35( it is likely that the 25$ dollar one above has its small circle highlighted and that is the minimum for that, usually you have to spend $200!!!)

      1.10$ gift certificates have a minimun purchase of $20…so if you buy that gift certificate for $80 off $4 (80cents)and have to pay $10 more to equal $20 then you are actually paying $10.80 for a $20 meal which is actually about 50% off.

      2. %25 gift certificate usually either has a $35 minimum (best over all value) or $50…
      a)$25 with $35 minimun…discounted cert will cost you 80% off $10 ($2) plus you only have to spend $10 more to reach $35 WHICH IS THE BEST VALUE $12 for a $35 MEAL IS 65% OFF!!!!!!

      3. $50 dollar coupons have a minimum almost always of $100 and cost normally $20…so 80% off 20 is $4 and you spend 50 more to meat minimum so $54 dollars off of s 100 dollar meal is a little less than 50% off. This a great however if you are going to a restaurant that you know you will spend $100 at.

      4. $100 off pretty much always has a minimum purchase of $200…and costs normally $40…so 80% off 40 ($8), so you pay $108 for a $200 meal. also about half off.

      ALSO< remember that an 18% or 20% gratuity will be automatically billed with these offers!

      Also, check the menu for the place you are buying a certificate for. We picked up a $25 certificate for a place we had never eaten and still spent $40 oop because the prices were so high.

    I made a great find in Charleston, SC. If you’re a local, they have $4.99 lunches at Aromas, a Thai/Chinese restaurant on Market Street. They let us combine the lunch special with the $25 Restaurants.com gift certificate I got for $2. I calculated it out at the table and we were able to order 2 sodas, 2 entrees, and 2 appetizers- all for $10 + tax and tip. We even left with enough for another meal! The food was delicious and tasted so much better at that price!

    I saw on some comments from previous restaurant.com posting that restaurant.com started charging this girls card once a month randomly. I just bought something from them. Should I be worried, has anyone else had this problem?

      Hi Jessica,
      I’ve been ordering from restaurant.com for a year or so and have never had any problems with them. They are very customer service friendly and even sent me an email once to let me know that a restaurant was no longer participating in their program. As a result, I was able to redeem that gift certificate on their site for another restaurant of my choice. Hope this helps. ;)

      I agree with Alisha — in over two years, I have never had a problem, and have been very pleased with any interactions I have had with restaurant.com, either purchasing or in the e-mail updates they have sent occasionally.

      I suppose it’s just like with using a credit card anywhere, you have to watch, but I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

        I just read the post I think you were talking about on facebook…

        Shopping Essentials had a “free trial” at one point where if you signed up, you got $10.00 off your purchase. It sounds like this person did the free trial and then maybe forgot to cancel it. I did the free trial, got my $10.00 back, and then canceled, and never saw any additional charges for it.

    For those Restaurant.com regulars, do you buy the gift certificate for the specific restaurant or do you just buy a restaurant.com gift certificate and pick out the restaurant later? Is there any catches when doing the latter?

        Yes, it’s still good, and it should be for around a week or so. This is a regular sale for them, so if you miss it this week, don’t worry… they’ll do it again soon.

      Michelle… I always just buy the certificates. I think they expire one year from the time you pick the restaurant and print it out, so I always wait until I know who I’m going to give it to and when, or until I know where we want to go out “that night” before I pick a restaurant and print them.

Like do you have to spend a specific amount on Gift Card as well? I read that there are certain requirements for each “Gift Certificate” but, does that also apply to the Gift Cards?
