These deals start Sunday 1/17 at Walgreens. There are two freebies this week and a few other good deals. Walgreens is running the same Pepsico products deal as CVS, but I would encourage you to get it at CVS, it’s a little bit more of a deal.shoppinglist1

I tried to print the 1.50 off the wet ones coupon but then it printed the .75 off.
  • MIchelle
    Hey everyone!

I note the ACCU meter is on next sunday for 14.99 with a 5RR. It says up top that now it is 9.99 and you can either use the coupons OR the rebate. Is that because it is 9.99? Once it goes back to 14.99 could you then use the two coupons, 10 dollar one and the 5 dollar WAGS one, get a 5RR and still submit for the rebate?

Just curious on how anyone knows that buying it now for 9.99 with the two coupons will not generate the MIR?

    Thanks!

    ML
  • Virginia
Normally on these types of items you will not receive the rebate when the person processing it sees on your receipt that you already used a coupon to make it free.
  • Sue
I have 1.50 off Bayer Quick Release, making them free. I think they came from RP 10/25.
  • tina
heads up...wag's has some hair color on clearance starting at $2.29..Loreal, caroil, we have $2 coupons for these. Also I found some clearance cover girl $2.39 using $1 coupon making them $1.39..be on the look out for clearance items.
  • tina
Sorry on the hair color I meant .29 for each lol
  • Jodimaria
Just got back from my 2nd trip to Walgreen's and it rocked! I had a $25 check for transferring a prescription (we just moved so they sent us this in the mail).

    Trans 1
2 Jumbo packs of Pampers - $10 each
Oscar Myer ready to serve bacon - $1.99
    Lipton Tea 100 ct bags - $2.99
    TheraFlu Warming Liquid - $3.99

    Used
    1 $2 off Theraflu coupon
    1 $2 off 2/Pampers coupon
and $25 rebate check from Rx transfer
Paid $1.51 and got back $7 in RR ($4 and $3)

    Trans 2
    2 Neosporin Lip Health - $8.00
    1 Welch's Grape Jelly - $1.50

    Used
    2 $3 off Neosporin Lip
    1 .55 off Welch's Jelly
Then tried to use my $3 RR from previous order. My total was some change over $3 but it said I had to buy something else so I got a pack of peanut M&M's for .39 and it worked

    Paid
    .86 and got $3 more in RR...yea!

Can anyone tell me why it wouldn't take the $3 RR in the 2nd transaction even though my total was over $3? Was it b/c I had used 3 manufacturer coupons on 3 items so I needed one more item to use the RR coupon? If so, is that rule listed somewhere? I don't remember reading it. Thanks!
  • Natalie559
it's written on the RR is you read the fine print
  • Sue
RR's are considered manufacturer's coupons and Walgreen's does not allow you to have more coupons than items. You had 4 coupons and 3 items.
  • ColorSilk Hair Coloring
Noticed that WAGs has ColorSilk Hair Coloring on sale this week for $1.99 with the WAG coupon. Found $1.00/2 manufacturer's coupon in the paper 1/17 can't remember if it was SS or RP. I walked out buying two paying $1.49 on something that normally is $4.00 ea. Walgreens, You ROCK!
  • AC
I was looking over a receipt from last week and noticed that they charged me twice for an Aveno lotion ($7.49) during the BOGO 1/2 off and so I paid for a Lubraderm and Aveno at full price and paid for another Aveno at 1/2 off, but I only got one Aveno. I called and the manager said he would look into it, but I was curious if anyone else has had this happen and actually been able to prove that they only purchased one.
  • avenlee
Does anyone know what the Maybelline New York Express Finish nail polishes are going for at Wags?
  • Anne Marie
Okay, I can never get Walgreens to work out like I planned and it is really frustrating! Today I didn't spend much more than I planned, but wanted to post here to see what I was doing wrong.

    Transaction #1
    Photofinishing $1.33
    2 Neosprin Lip $8.00

    Used 2 $3.00
    Total 3.89
    Got back $3 RR

    Transaction #2
    2 Revlon Colorsilk 3.99

    Used:
    $1.99 Colorsilk in-ad coupon
    $1/2 Revlon Colorsilk Manu q.
    $3 RR

The register beeped and wouldn't take the RR. The cashier said that I had to get another item, that was around a dollar, that it wouldn't let me just pay .22, which is what I figured on. So I got a pack of gum that I could send to my daughter in Iraq, and ended up paying $1.59, not much more than I figured, but I would still like to know what I did and how I could have made that work.
  • Anne Marie
Thanks everyone for your responses. Walgreens is just too much for me to understand. I do something wrong every time, and can never figure it out. I think I'll just stick with CVS for now.
  • Sue
I think this is probably because you had too many coupons for the number of items purchased. The number of q's cannot exceed the number of items. The $1 Q applied to 2 items so you still need another item to apply the RR to. That is why it did not matter wha the other item was.
  • Natalie559
Hmm, well maybe this is why, 1.99x2= 3.98-$1coupon=2.98 so register beeped b/c the subtotal was $0.02 below what your RR was for??
  • tina
I give them the wags first then the manufacturers coupons. And it never beeps giving them in that order.
  • Michelle
I had the 1.50 wet ones coupons but the register only took off 0.75. Anyone know why this would be?
  • Jem
Hi - I just wanted to let everyone know that I am using all of my freebies this month to give to a charity collecting items to send to Haiti (meds, soaps, first aid and more!).

I just thought I would pass along this thought in case it can inspire someone else. On a tight budget, this is an easy way to help!
  • Sandy
Walgreens would not accept their own coupon today! I tried to use their $3 off L’Oreal Preference or Couleur Experte Hair Color coupon which i got out of their monthly coupon book. The cashier said it was a misprint and I could not use it. Has anyone else had this problem?
  • Amanda
The wet ones is only printing 75 cents now..bummer
  • Natalie559
This was a really great WG week for me, so thanks everyone for all the great deal ideas!!

    Trans #1)
2 neosporin lip health, used 2 $3off coupons
    2 wet ones, used 2 $1.50off coupons
    --
Total with tax $3.30, received $1RR and $3RR

    Trans #2)
    2 planter p nuts, used 1 $1off man coupon and 2 $1off store coupons
1 aquafresh toothpaste, used $2off store coupon
    used $1RR from above
    --
    Total with tax $0.19

    Trans #3)
    1 100ct lipton tea
1 sugar free theraflu, used $2off man coupon and $2off store coupon
1 accucheck meter, used $10off man coupon and $5off store coupon
2 5 ct pks bic lighters, used 2 for $5 store coupon
    2 snickers
    used $3RR from above
    --
Total with tax $1.20, received $4RR

So total OOP was $4.69 and I have a $4RR left to use.
  • TammynSC
I'm still new to the WAGS stuff. Considering the Dawn. Will the following scenario work?

    1 Dawn Dishwashing Detergent
-priced down to .99 w/in-ad coupon
    -.25 PG coupon
    makes it $.74/ea.

In other words, I can use an in-ad coupon AND a mfg. coupon on the same item? I always get confused concerning in-ad coupons and whether they count as a coupon when counting the number of coupons I have versus the number of items I have.
  • Lisa
The Wags coupons do not count as a coupon, they just serve to adjust the item to the sale price. Both Manufacturer and Register Rewards count as coupons, but not Wags store coupons.
  • Sherry
Jenny, I am looking for that article you wrote about Walmart not being a great savings compared to the savings we get at Publix. I have a few friends I would like to pass it onto, they are die hard Walmart fans.

In my search for the childrens activity booklet (couldn't find any), i found a "Triaminic child id kit". It's a small booklet on the photo counter. It has a 1.00 Triaminic coupon in it.
  • Carla
I have a question- If I was to buy 2 items that are on sale via a Walgreens ad coupon, does the cashier need to scan it twice or will the register recognize that I have 2 sale items and automatically ring it in for me? Also, when there is an item on sale at Walgreens can I stack that with a manufacturer coupon? Thanks in advance!
  • Joanne Horan
Its done automatically and yes to the second question
  • Olivia
I went to Walgreens and did their Pepsi deal and was pleasantly surprised to find $1/2 coupons on many of their 12 pks of sodas!! I purchased 8 12pks @ $3/ea, used 4 $1/2 q, then $4RR I had from last week which made my total about 16, but then I got back $10 RR!! Also got wet wipes for free, and spent my $10 RR on pull-ups!! Overall a very successful trip!!
  • carolyn
i know it would be great to be able to save those rr for next week. but my currrent situation just wont allow it if i spend ten dollars starting out i have to walk out of there with something i really needed such as diapers, pet food .so from week to week it actually cost more but we live from pay check to pay check right now . so rr are great but freebies are best.
  • Olivia
I understand! We are in the same shape! That's why I did it that way! We would have gotten soda from the grocery store anyway, but not that cheap and then with my register rewards, I bought Walgreens pull-ups b/c they were the cheapest and I needed them NOW!! And the Wet wipes were free b/c they were included in the transaction with the pull-ups which I paid for with the $10 RR, then got $1 RR back to save!! It worked out really good for me!
  • Hi, my sister lives in Pigeon Forge, TN and I am trying to get her on board with couponing and she say that most stores do not honor coupons and she doesn't have many choices! Does anyone in that area have some suggestions on store that do accept coupons, I know there is a Kroger, do they double up to .50? Also, is there a Publix in any nearby cities, she said for a good deal she is willing to drive? Thanks for everyone's comments and suggestions, I love this site!
  • Joanne Horan
Kroger doubles everyday (up to .50cents) but they might only do it for up to two same items in one transaction. They will take as many face value q's and depending on where you live they will even triple (up to .39cents) We don't have publix but keep reading the blogs for their policies.
  • Thanks I will pass this along!
  • Kim
This is my first time trying this. I tried to print off the 1.50 off coupon for the Wet Ones by clicking on it but what printed off was .75 coupon. What did I do wrong?
  • Laura
I can't get a 1.50 wetones coupon to print. It keeps coming out 0.75. What am i doing wrong?
  • Robyn
Same here, could they have run out of the $1.50 ones?
  • Jen
I can't believe I went to 4 different stores today and none had the Neosporin Lip Health in stock. I was told it would be Saturday before they would restock. I am in the Nashville vicinity.
  • JEB
Ragu is on sale for $1.50...is that a good price? Food Lion is $1.67 now. What is it aw Walmart usually?
  • Ginger
Where I am, that's so-so. I don't think there's a coupon out right now, is there? I usually wait till I can get mine in the .80- $1.00 range, but if I was out and I needed it, $1.50 wouldn't kill me.
  • Sue
Could someone tell me about the "Free Salsa wyb (2) bags of Tostitos chips" that Jenny has listed? Is this a coupon or some other promotion?
  • Tina M
It is a tearpad coupon. I found them at Publix at the end of the chip isle.
  • Sue
Thanks. This sounds like the ones I had a while back that expired. I have the couponing "down pat", I just can't get in the habit of watching for them everywhere! Did not even look in Publix for this kind of thing.
  • Claire

    -4.00 WAGS planters nuts
    -0.97 WAGS candy 3/$2
    = -$67.94

total was $20.xx, used $5 triaminic RR x 4. paid around $1 oop and got back $18 RR! i am very pleased with this trip! hope everyone has as good of luck this week. strangely, i did have one issue and that is that the computer would not take the WAGS $2 theraflu q from the D&Y magazine. don't know why, i've done it several times before. i didn't complain seeing as how i was getting all this for basically $3!
  • Natalie559
It had to be the sugar free theraflu for the store coupon to work- maybe this was the issue?
  • Courtney
i purchased the exact box of theraflu pictured on the wags q. i've done this several times prior to this week. it's a 6 pack sugar free night time theraflu. my only thought was that i used the cosmetics counter to check out this time b/c i had my 2 kids with me and a bunch of stuff. maybe it isn't programmed into that computer for whatever reason?
  • Courtney
forgot to add, when the cashier scanned the q, the register beeped and had a msg that said something like "coupon not found in database". weird. of course, she called the manager, and the manager said it was b/c i had used a mfc. q with the product already. the manager always says that when i have a problem. i have bought at least 20 boxes of theraflu with that coupon while using a $2 mfc q with it over the last couple months with no issue. oh, well. it was still a good trip for me!
  • corinne
That's what happened to mine too on Sunday, the computer didn't take the Theraflu coupon from Diabetes and Y..And I did this deal previously with no prob.
  • Cindy
We went to buy the Starbuck's Frappacino 4 packs, and the register is printing out $1/1 manufacturer's coupon per transaction. With the $3.99 store coupon and the $1/1 manufacture's Q, we got more 4 packs for $2.99 each - that's 75 cents each bottle. BUT you have to purchase the packs separately to get a coupon for each pack.
  • Savannah
Ok..I'm a newbie..but I saw in my Wags ad that Gillette has an offer on page 9 where you get a free gillet or old spice product when you buy Gillette Cartridges and there is a Coupon for $3 and $2 off in the P&G 1/17...Am I on the right track? I don't see it posted anywhere.
  • KMiller
yes it is on sale..i just did that transaction :)
  • Audrey
I just called Walgreen corporate office(800-925-4733)and was told that the reason that I didn't get more RR's from purchase yesterday was because I used manuf. cpn's and RR's(from a previous order). She said that if you used manuf. cpn's and RR's that your RR's from what you just purchased would not print(you don't get more RR's).
I was told that by the store manager, district store customer service and now corporate customer service.
I will not be shopping at Walgreen's anymore.
  • carolyn
i have heard of this before . but it was like this... if you use manuf, coup or rr on an order they wouldnt print your rr.that some stores had changed the computer to do this . well, then why does their ad say coups in most sun papers are they taunting us . i also had a cashier warn me that if i used my manuf. coupons they may or may not print.then i just told her nicely i will just have to return all of this then .but they printed after all . its funny rite aides ad even tell when there are both store and manufs.to be used on the same product . but every single time i do the cashier has to call a manager over . this lady has worked at this store for 10 years that i can remember and still has no idea .she told me once your already getting it for this price.isnt that cheap enuff? and i know this has happened to someone else .you know the cashier who says no...just no you cant do that .she doesnt even try to scan the thing .so then it becomes an issue of time . do i have time for this? can i explain this well enuff that they will understand? is it really worth it ? this is why i think we need more teenage boy cashiers god bless em 90% of the time they just scan away not even reading the first coupon , unlike their coupon wispering counter parts .i m not a control and i know i am not always right. but cashiers really need to spend more time learning what the store does and does not take instead of just claiming they know it . sorry yall i had to get that out.
  • Lisa
I am with you Shouts out to the teenage boys...they rule!!! They don't have a problem with any coupon and never give you any grief for any reason...they do just scan away!! It's great!!
  • JenGC
That might be under the "if you use a RR on the same item...aka same manufacturer...that they won't give you another RR" kinda like if you bought Theraflu on a RR sale last week (hypothetical I dont know if they did that deal last week or not) and there is another sale on Theraflu with RR, if you use the same RR that you got from Theraflu last week, then they wont give you another one. But if you use a Nivia RR from last week, they would have given you another RR. I dont think it is a RR from ANYONE but a RR from the same company ya know? Yes, I agree the deal stinks, but I would rather them do this, than what CVS does where you can ONLY buy so many of an item period. But I guess they have to try to keep you from buying out the store one way or the other LOL
  • lori
my walgreens in huntsville has contour meters on sale for $14.99. there is an up to $30.00 off in the 10-25 rp and they are printing $5 rr. i walked out with four meters for free and $20.00rr. you have to purchase them in seperate transactions or they will only print one $5rr. (if you purchase all in one it will print one $5rr and one $3rr for purchasing more than one bayer prod in a single trans)
  • Tausha
Lori, if you purchase the Contour and the Breeze in ONE transaction, you will get a $5.00 for each and a $3.00 for purchasing 2 Bayer products. So you walk out with $13.00 for each transaction. But you still did awesome!! I just donated 8 of them to Hospice and it made me feel so good!
  • Courtney
i've been doing this quite a bit lately, too. a few times, i added in another participating item to get the $6 bayer RR instead of just $3 RR. last week the phillips liquid was on sale for $1.88 at my wags and i had q's for $1 off. so i spent $0.88 per transaction and received two $5 RR for the meters and one $6 RR for buying three participating products. sweet! i've got meters filling up my closest, though. gotta donate them just to get some space for other things!
  • Lisa
OK, I have a question on the meters....is this the current weeks sale? And if I am understanding correctly If I buy one Contour and one Breeze I will get two 5.oo rr? And if I buy them both together I get an extra $3 rr for purchasing 2 products? I am just trying to get this all straight before I go!! Thanks for the help
  • Courtney
that's right. it's a month long RR deal.
  • carolyn
    yes
  • Audrey
Could someone tell me what I did wrong? Here is what I purchased:
    Bought:
    (2) Neosporin Lip products $4
    (2) Wet Ones Wipes $2
    (1) snickers .39
    Used:
    (2) -$3 off Neosporin printables
    (2) -$1.50 off Wet Ones printable
    (1) $3 RR
    Total Due: $1.25
I didn't get my RR's for either item. I called the store and they said that I couldn't use manuf. cpns and RR's and get more RR's. I asked her to give me district stores # and they told me the same thing.
    What did I do wrong?
  • Natalie559
Hmm, one idea is- the $3RR that you used- if it was issued from purchasing a product that has the same manufacturer as either the neosporin (johnson and johnson) or wet ones (playtex) then it will not print another one by the same manufacturer. . .
  • tina
I don't know what I'm doing wrong?? Just copy and paste the link :)

Hope you can use this on the aquafresh at wags. combine with their in ad coupon for free toothpaste.
  • Jeniver
    Hi Ladies,

I am new to this, but Walgreens here (we are in WV) has their store brand calcium chews B1G1 @ $6.97. Use the $2 off coupon in the New you booklet. That make it 2.97 for 2. I really needed these this week so $3 was great! Thanks for posting all the great deals!!! I look forward to learning lots more.
  • Sorry, newbie here. I went to my local WAGS in Athens, Ga today and purchased the following products, but my RR did not print. When I asked why the associate in the pharmacy (Sudafed Products have to be purchased in Pharmacy) was very nice and called the manager. She said they did not print because it is $5 RR on $15 spent. I used coupons thus I could not get the RR. "You are trying to cheat the system!"

    Buy:
    (1) Sudafed Triple Action $6.99
    (2) Tylenol Cold $4.99
    Use
    -$4 off Triple Action printable
    (2) -$2 off Tylenol cold printable
    Total Due: $8.97
Get Back: $5 RR, makes it 99¢ ea
  • Ginger
OMG, write Wags corporate and tell them what that manager said. And then tell them how dare they accuse you of cheating when those deals are advertised in their circulars, and askif their manager has ever heard of false advertising. Or CVS. And then wait for the store manager to call you and grovel. I'm sorry, but that's BS.
(I had a really bad experience with a Wags assistant mgr, and I wrote Wags and complained, and the manager called me to apologize. And he's usually a mean one, too. But now he's afraid of me, and goes out of his way to be helpful when I come in. I know that sounds mean, but if you had seen some of the prior BAD customer service, they totally deserve it.)
  • JenGC
Not true...at least at my Walgreens. And don't you DARE let them make you feel that way. If they didn't have the system set up to begin with, how can you take advantage of it? That makes me so mad when they do that. They do these deals to get you in and for you to buy more. Isn't that deceitful in itself? Plus, if you dont want someone to take advantage of the deal, DONT OFFER THEM! grrr You let them know that....in the most polite way you can (which isnt too polite for me...working on that LOL).

Anyway, the RR should come out BEFORE coupons. That is the way it has always worked for me anyway.
  • Lisa
Don't they actually advertise in their ads that there are coupons for some items in your Sunday paper? I think that Walgreens makes their coupon rules up on the fly. Whatever they can come up with at that moment is the reason why. Kind of like the register rewards system...if they don't want to take them they why in the **** do they give them? It's all crazy, when I do a Walgreens trip I feel like I need to visit the Pharmacy and ask if they have any extra traqulizers they can donate to my cause....LOL with some of these "RULES" they come up with it certainly makes you think you need one. Maybe I will take up meditation and always meditate before I go in to a Walgreens so that I will be "calm" enough to hear the next "story" they come up with!! It's great to save money and get things for free but somtimes I stop and ask myself is it worth my sanity dealing with Walgreens!! LOL
  • Amanda
I shop at the Athens Walgreens and have never had any trouble with RR & coupons. I have never checked out at the pharmacy though.
  • It was not mentioned but there was a Children's Benadryl coupon in the Children's Activity Book too! This would take another 2 bucks off that deal making each 1.50 after 2 manuf. Q's the WAGS Q and the RR!
  • Sue
I did my first Walgreen's couponing trip today. Things went really well. I was a little disappoint that they were out of Neosporin Lip but otherwise, they had most of what I wanted. I did 2 transactions.
    Transaction #1
    1 Aviva Meter
    - 9.99 MQ
    - 5.00 SQ
    2 Wet Ones
    -1.50 x 2 MQ
    1 Thera-Flu
    -2.00 MQ
    -2.00 SQ
    1 Lipton Tea
1 Axe Shampoo on clearance for 2.99

    Total Spent: 3.44
    Gor RR's $1, $4

    Transaction 2
    2 newspapers
    3 Van Camps
    -1.47 in-ad Q
    1 Planters Nuts
    -1.00 SQ
    4.00 RR
    1.00 RR

    Paid 1.49

Total for both transactions was 4.93.
I would have paid 4.00 on my newspapers anyway so I feel like I got everything else for 93¢. Great trip! I will not hestitate to plan another Walgreen's trip when I am going to be in the area. The closest one to me is 30 miles away.

Sounds like you got a GREAT deal! Especially for your first trip! When I first started, I had to pay out more OOP to get started. AWESOME! I am not sure if you have a Dollar Tree near you, but my Dollar Tree has papers on for $1. Usually the newsstand papers don't have near the coupons that the home delivery does (I have home delivery) but this week they did! I bought 5 papers! woohoo! Anyway, thought you might want to know that. Plus, at one time there was a sign outside of my CVS that said Sunday newspapers for $1 as well. They have since taken that sign down (it was up for like 4 or more weeks) and I didn't have a good experience in that store so I haven't gone in to ask if that was a special or their daily price. Anyway, I thought you might want to know that there might be somewhere else that has papers on cheeper! LOL
  • Sue
Yes, I was totally satisfied. I have been doing CVS and Rite Aid for a while now but this was a first. Thanks for the info about Dollar Tree. In the small town that I live, I have to drive at least 15 miles every Sunday just to get my papers, so a few more miles would not matter. I just called them to see if they sell them and they said no. Oh well! But I was really excited to get the papers from the immediate Columbia area because I believe that they have more coupons. I will have access to the Smart Source from the paper that I normally buy soon so that I can compare them.
  • Joanne Horan
Oops. I also forgot to mention that if you only buy an assortment of chips, they work out to be about 1.25ea, before q's and 10.00rr. There's also 1.00 off (Jan.17) dip/salsa if you buy tostitos, so you buy 8 bags assorted chips ( include 2 tostitos), the dip/salsa will cost you .25ea. The chips will work out to be .70ea.
  • Can you please explain how the chips come out to be so cheap? I think I am missing something. Thanks
