Huggies Wipes 216 ct Refills are also ringing up $2.50!! This is awesome!

To make it better, if your store has a price scanner scan your CVS card. Many are reporting getting a $2 off Huggies Wipes CVS coupon that prints. That means 50 cents for a refill pack!!

I’m already in my pajama’s but am so tempted to go out for this one!

I couldn’t stand it so I got dressed and hit the store 10 minutes before they closed. Here is an image of the CVS price scanner showing the deal. It was a small thrill to get wipes for so cheap!!

How does the scanner work?? I'm not a regular at CVS. “To make it better, if your store has a price scanner scan your CVS card. Many are reporting get a $2 off Huggies Wipes CVS coupon that prints.”

CVS has scanners just like Target has on a couple of their aisles. The scanners are not very big but majority of the stores should have them. If you scan your cvs card at one of them it also prints coupons (not every time).

Yes, I tried one of these scanners once or twice. It is usually at the front door and it says scan you card for coupons.Does anyone know how many you can buy if you get the coupon?

Okay so I was in my pj's but I headed out for this deal and was not disappointed! My CVS card did not print out a $2 off q but I had a 50 cents off from a home mailer. So I got 216 wipes for $2.16 after taxes!!! I went out tonight because you know how CVS corprate is, if they find out they made a mistake they will correct it the next day and I will miss out. Not saying they shouldn't but I wanted my cheap wipes!

I just got back from my quick run to the CVS – I was at work when I read this and I just couldn't wait to go get them. I have twins so this deal is awesome for me. I scanned my card and out popped a $5 off $15 and a $2 wipes coupon. I bought for packs and the Earinse and used my $10 EB from the P&G deal so out of pocket was $1.80 and then I got back the $7.99 EB for the Earinse. A great morning at the CVS. I found it very funny, too. It's still a bit cold here to be running out in late evening.

Well, not to mention that we don't need wipes on a regular basis, and it is so freeing….My last child is in kindergarten and I just about feel like I won the lottery. Not that I don't want my kids around, but working with them through school is a long, involved journey. One will graduate in two years.

Now when I see wipes and diapers at the store, I praise the Lord for bringing me to this point.

But, my neighbor across-the-street is CVS night manager, so maybe she will help me score some deals if I ask her. I've never done anything at CVS but fill a scrip.

Nothing makes me mad more than uneducated employees. They are spending million of dollars to get the coupons out to consumers. This employee simply threw a bucket of cold water onto their efforts. Please report this employee immediately. No one can decide what and what not to do on your transaction.

I went out in my sweats. I just scored three packs. I stopped at the scanner and got a $2 off wipes coupon and a $4 off Huggies box diapers coupon. I used $2 off coupon, 50 cent off coupon, and 4 ECBs for (3) 184 ct sensitive Huggies wipes. OOP was $1.08. Totally made my evening. Freaked my hubby out when I asked him to pause 24 so I could make a CVS run.

Something told me to check my favorite site before leaving work tonight…got off work at 11 pm… went to the 24 hour CVS, and BINGO…. a $5 off $15 printed from the magic coupon machine! All ( scented, unscented, hypoallergenic, shea butter) of the larger packs are ringing up $2.50, so I grabbed a flyer and saw that it was $2 for 5, no limit given. I got 6 packs to use the $5 off coupon, had $7 in ECB's, so was 3.63 OOP on a GIFT CARD….saved 44.94 this trip! I LOVE CVS… and yes, I left oodles for everyone else! Happy shopping!

Hi Julie I live in Florida and I got my wipes 2/$5.00. I bought 4 packs had $7 ECB..OOP $3.70 (including tax)…however when I was checking out the manager was unplugging the cpn machine and said it was broken. I guess I made it just in time.

This is a great deal even if I don't get the coupon from the scanner. Has anyone else had the same problem as me with coupons from the scanner? Every time I go, I scan my card and the only coupons the scanner wants to give me are for CVS brand items like the cookies and nuts. I NEVER EVER get the money off a certain purchase amount or name brand coupon that I could stack with a manufacture's coupon. Does anyone know how the scanner determines which coupons you get? I am starting to think it must know how much I save there and doesn't want to give me a good coupon. :)

I only get those on my printed coupons too and I buy all of my baby stuff at CVS so who knows what determines them! LOL!

From my retail experience, I would have to assume they base it on purchases you have made using your card at CVS. Retailers use these cards to see what you buy. I have not purchased any “baby” items at CVS until now, so it did not print the $2 coupon for me either.

There's something about this that bothers me.

At first, I thought CVS intentionally made the wipes this price.

But many others seem to assume that they made a mistake, and are making no bones about profiting from a mistake.

I know it's easy to see CVS and the maker of wipes as corporate entities with bottomless pockets.

I know people who work for both companies, and Kimberly-Clark has a headquarters here where several of my friends work.

I think about perhaps my teen daughter working at a fast food place and giving someone back too much change~I have been in that situation and given the change back.

I have also been in the situation where a self-check register was giving back WAY too much change and I gave it back to the store manager and alerted them.

These “mistakes” cost everyone money. Do you think companies do that much absorption of mistakes? No, nearly everything a company suffers financially, they pass to consumers.

I know it's a “thrill” to get cheap wipes, but it's not even a necessity for children. We can use other things as wipes and it's only our need for convenience that makes us feel we “need” wipes. Besides, I doubt most people would even purchase wipes if the purchase of them was setting them back so hard they had to drop everything to get them inexpensively “before the store catches on.”

Don't kill the CVS cash cow for a momentary pleasure.

Or it could be that CVS knows that there is a HUGE CVS'ing contingent of couponers and someone at corporate came up with this pricing strategy, coupled with releasing some cool coupon printouts at the machines to target just that “coupon shopping” niche. Somebody somewhere set that price and sent the program to spit out those coupons….coinky-dink? maybe, maybe not.

There are these hidden deals every so often and I think they are great. I'm past the wipes stage in my family but I love to see all the excitement. CVS is my drugstore of choice now and I feel awesome when I have 10 or 15 ECB's going into a week. For me their marketing (?) is working.

Honest Couponers aren't greedy & trying to put one over on the system, and the people who are don't give a hoo-ha about what other people say.

I have no problem with the scenario you describe.

But, and I don't shop at CVS often, it seems as if veteran CVS shoppers think it is a mistake~and are openly saying so.

In a post subsequent to this one, a poster even mentions a manager questioning the price. Of course, managers may not know everything about pricing, but I would believe they are trained to recognize an obvious aberration.

I love deals, really I do.

But I do believe that if the unethical aspect of something is pointed out, some people who had not considered it may ponder it in the larger scheme. I'm not saying someone who went to get the deal (knowing it was a mistake) is a horrid person, merely that the excitement of the “find” clouded judgment.

you also have to realize that this mistake has been going on for over 48 hours and they have failed fix it. Maybe its not a mistake but an unadvertized deal for us. Huggies only stands to gain from this. They already got paid when CVS bought the product. Now CVS will buy more than normal to refill the shelves.

This doesn't hurt CVS or Huggies. They get us into their store and we buy things there that otherwise we would buy other places. I wonder how much it actually costs to make these wipes. Probably not much at all and they are probably marked up exorbitantly to start with.

I agree. When i saw the CVS ad this week I wasnt going to go bc I only wanted the Tide and Cheerios(wasnt worth the stop). Once I saw the Huggies post, I went and bought the wipes, Tide, Cheerios, AND bread. Plus, a $2 coupon did NOT print for me, but I still bought them for $2.50 bc thats a good price for me. I think this was a mistake, but they arent fixing it bc it will still make them money. It's a win win. They make extra money on extra wipes(and other products) being sold and I get a good price on wipes!!!

I am glad that we still have conscious-minded people in our decaying society. This is not to play down everyone else here. Just regular piece of cotton can be reused for such purpose-I must also add the environment benefit to this. Little bit washing and reusing wouldn't hurt, but throwing that piles in garbage would.

As far as the corporate profit and that everyone is paying stuff looks good in writing. But, reality is that prices and profit markup is already exorbitant. These “bargain hunters” you see here are just a fraction of buyers. Therefore, not much dent will be felt by the corporate world.

I cloth diaper and also use cloth wipes. My life is soooo much easier not having to run out in the middle of the night to buy those items! Yes, I still use the occassional disposable diaper and wipe and I am thankful when I get a pack or two when they are super cheap. But its nice not have to stress out about getting the absolute best deal on these “necessities”.

Companies are making money hands over fists. For the few of us that are actually into coupons and deals, there are millions of people out here paying full price for every item that they buy. And that is probarly why they can do this deal.

Companies are in the business to make money. And they want every single dime that we make. I just got a $500 power bill because “I” accidently left the heat on “Emergency Heat.” Do you think they are going give me money back for my mistake?

If you don't feel good about this deal, please feel free to pay full price for your items.Companies will still make money regardless…

Also in thinking about my reply, I want you to think about this.

Companies have be reducing the amount of product that we get in everything that we buy now. Ice cream, cereal, vegetables, paper towels etc. but they are still charging us the same price if not more. Do you feel bad for them?

And they watch everything that we buy. For example, Sauve had body wash on sale one week for $1.29 at Kroger. I had a coupon for $.50 and it made it $.29.

The NEXT week the body wash went up to $1.69 and the coupons now are $.25. Do you feel bad for them? Kroger use to have 16 oz vegetables and now they are 10 oz but the same price of the 16 oz.

CVS charges almost $8 for these refills. And I bet they have tons of consumers that buy them at this price.

It's all about making money and saving money. You have to decide which side of the fence you want to be on. Companies have no loyality to you or me. The only thing that they care about is money. So why shouldn't I save mine?

I just got back from a 7 am run to CVS. I bought 9 packs and all rang up at $2.50 each. Sweet! We literally just ran out of our last wipe refill pack! My total after four $1/1 q's, one .75/1 q, one .50/1 q and a $3.50 ECB was a little over $14 for 9 refill packs. Thanks for the heads up on this Jenny!

I just got back from my store… they are still ringing up at 2.50! The manager came over and was asking if they are supposed to be that price so I'm wondering how long it will last. At the coupon kiosk it gave me a 5 off 15 so I got 6 packs of wipes for 10.55! Yay!

I just got two packs at 7:15 this morning, so it was still that price at this time. I also hit a nice little treat on the ol' CVS coupon scanner and got a $5 off $15 coupon and a B1G1 free Godiva chocolate bars up to $3.49 (actually cost $3.99, but oh well it was a nice treat). Added a few Cadbury's Cream eggs (my favorite) as filler items to get the total above $15 and walked out with 2 packs of wipes, 2 Godiva chocolate bars, 4 cadbury's creme eggs, all for $8.59 after tax.

I wish I read this before, Yesterday I had to spend $14 ECB because the were going to expired yesterday, so I bought diapers, and today I realized I'm going to run out of wipes. Hopefully there is still at least one in the store when I get out from work.

I went this morning in Jax, FL & the wipes did ring up at $2.50! I also got a $2.00 coupon, but not the $3/$15. That's ok! I bought 3 packs, had $4 in EB money & the $2.00 off CVS coupon. Total OP = $2.03!!

I got mine at the CVS in Newnan, Ga this morning. They had a few packs left. The unscented ones that are in the smaller pack (178 wipes) are also 2.50.

I didn't get the $2 off wipes, but I did get a $5 off $15 which I never get.

I’d write CVS.com and complain for sure. You may get some ECBs or a coupon out of it. Store employees have no right to throw away your coupon with your name on it. I guess they can decide to refuse you to use it, but they should definitely give it back. How rude.

I just returned form CVS and the deal is still on, however the ECB did not print out. I did have a .50 coupon (covered the tax) and $5 ECB so I got them for FREE!!! I wonder if this isn't just a sales gimmic for the publicity- either way you can't beat free!

It's not an ECB but actually a coupon that some folks are getting when their card is scanned. I normally only get coupons for CVS brand items but many are getting this one either after they finish and pay or if their store has a scanner they can get it first.

I was so excited and I think I am going to get hooked to the coupon game, but I didn't understand how to get the $2 off coupon. Just got back…still working!!! Took an early lunch, way early. I wiped the shelf clean of fragrance free ones. What a deal. Not to fret…they had boxes of them sitting on the floor in front of the shelf, if you looked, and all the other varieties available in bulk as well. Sorry your store was wiped out already on such a good deal. Did you ask about more in the back. I encounter this issue with most other stores I shop and there is always more in the back.

If they haven't fixed the price by now, then it's probably NOT a mistake. And to be honest, I do not feel bad for stores when we overdo it on coupons. There are plenty of people who do not use coupons at all, and the stores make much more money on them then they lose on us. My single friend spends about twice more money a month on groceries/personal items than I do for a family of 4, we buy pretty much the same stuff, and she doesn't even give a thought to coupons/on sale items… Plus, if the stores are having sales and accept coupons, then they WANT us to use these deals. If we were “stealing” from them, they wouldn't have all of these awesome deals available.

I agree that there are lots of people who do not use coupons and pay full price for these items every day. I was in Rite Aid the other day and a lady in front of me sprnt $113 on items that could have been purchased elsewhere for probably half the price. They more than make up for the loyalty programs. Besides, they make the most of their profits on prescription drugs.

I know there are plenty of people who do not coupon and pay full price. Some should be couponing to get their family finances in better shape…but others are consciously weighing the opportunity cost. They may make more money in one hour than they can save by doing several hours of couponing/bargain hunting. They may wish to spend more time with their families, etc and gladly give up the opportunity to save so they don't have to try so hard.

Other people I know just don't care to have a stockpile of goods in their homes. They live very close to retail and prefer just-in-time stocking.

A site such as this one does a WONDERFUL job of taking the legwork and brain work out of searching for deals. However, to take advantage of many deals, a person will have to be ready to get in the car at a moment's notice or go back to a store several times to get the product if they don't find it. Some people just make more money doing other things and have the luxury of not using coupons. I do it because I have several hours each day in which I can look for deals.

Food is one of our major expenditures, so it makes sense for me to coupon on some items. Electricity is another, and I really should be spending more time finding ways to bring that bill down.

I am in no way, shape, form, or fashion arguing the ethics of a rewards program. Those are established by marketers and in the long haul, they win. Not us. Even so, I don't begrudge any company its profits if the company is ethical. So far I have no reason to believe CVS and its ilk are unethical. However, if I felt that a deal was a mistake, I would let it go. I think what goes around, comes around. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but I am almost 40 and I've seen it too many times not to heed its existence.

The only other thing that gets to me is that increasingly it is hard just to obtain items. Most times when I go to any store, whether large grocery, drugstore, or Aldi, there is something I specifically needed that isn't in stock. I think stores can only do so much toward anticipating who is getting 20 packs of something for a deal. I find I spend more of my time shopping just to get what I actually really need right now. I can only imagine the frustration of some people who get off from work and only have a limited amount of time to shop.

Wow, I feel for you, I would have been frustrated if every time I went to the store, something I needed was not in stock. I guess I'm lucky, the area where I live (in Orlando, FL) doesn't have a lot of couponers. Every time I go to the store, it's like I'm the first one there :) Very, extremely rarely do they run out of the sale items.

The stores make back the face value on the coupon, plus a handling fee, so they actually MAKE money on the coupons. Then, if you figure in the number of people who pay the highly-marked-up price, and the number of people who come in with their coupons and then buy other high-dollar stuff that is not on their list, the stores are NOT losing any money off of us couponers. None. No worries! If they were losing money, they would not be putting these items on sale. :) They make money off of us in the long run, and we save money, so it is a win-win situation!

Ha ha I agree. If the stores/manufacturers were losing money on us, they would have stopped producing coupons a long time ago. Nevertheless, they still put coupons in Sunday papers and online, that can only mean they are benefiting from them.

I happened to be out of town when this got posted, so I went to the CVS there and the red blinkie machine was fried. I was dissappointed and the ever so sweet cashier thought of a plan:
She thought I could purchase a caramel along with my CVS extra care card and it would print out at the register whatever I should've received at the red blinkie machine. Didn't work, just got my receipt and my little one gladly got the caramel. I can see where this works to your disadvantage when those machines are down.
I am still impressed with the cooperation from that particular store. The store clerk was impressed with this site. Perhaps she will become a fan soon. ;)

Just got back this morning and was able to get 11 packs. YAY!! I didn't have any coupons, but I did have 22 dollars in ECB's. I saved 8 ECB's for future rollover tranactions, but did use 14. I also used my new $25 giftcard for a new prescription that I got last week. My final bill was 15 off of my giftcard for 11 packs of wipes. I LOVE CVS!!!!!!!!!!

YAY! I went to a CVS in Warner Robins, GA at 11:30. I got the $5 off $15 coupon and there were plenty of wipes! They are not marked, but they are definitely ringing up $2.50. I was just wondering how someone could buy up as many as 9 to 11 packs of wipes?? I just got back from our store and bought 2 packs and they had left about 5. The cashier was surprised by the sale and she needed some. I told her there were more back there. So, my point is why do you need to buy so many and leave nothing for the rest of us who use them? Sadly, whoever taught you life was fair and that everything right done to the number of baby wipes in your house should be equal across the nation lied to you (or could be a communist). Come on! I wasn't going to reply to these comments, but I just couldn't help myself this time. I get so tired of hearing the winers. I went to all 4 CVS stores in my town and NONE of them had any of the wipes left. I was really disappointed. I do wish ppl would consider that there are others that would like to take advantage of the good deals too. So, if you are in Cleveland, TN, don't bother going to get this deal today.

Couldn't help but stop 10 mins before class to write this comment. Just ran to CVS. No wipes coupons printed out from the machine. The wipes were marked $7.99 but rang $2.50 at the register! I spent $10.93 on make-up and toothpaste last week and got $12 extra bucks. Grabbed 5 wipes, used my extra bucks plus paid $1.36 OOP. What an awesome deal! Got 2 babies myself, plus lots of friends are having babies, will be a great gift basket stocker. Thanks Jenny for this deal!!!

Because a number of the posts in this thread indicate that it was a mistake on behalf of CVS and that the deal was being pulled for that reason.

When we go to stores and something rings up wrong (too high), we MAKE the cashier fix it.

In this case, many people KNEW it was the wrong price and went ahead with it, consciously attempting to “stick it to the man.”

I don't call that a deal. I call it preying. I wouldn't condone it being done to a consumer, and in the long run, it hurts consumers to take advantage of “errant” deals.

I don't have anything else to say about the matter. Everyone has their own comfort level of what they will do in life, and I can't force mine on someone else.

If I walked in off the street and had never heard of coupon blogs, etc. I would probably not think to question the deal. With the aforementioned knowledge, it turns into a different situation~meaning you have the power of discernment as to whether getting a deal on wipes is worth an ethical compromise.

Not everyone reads every comment here, especially before trying to go out and get a good deal. Not only that, but CVS frequently has 90% or other % off products that aren't labeled. If I can get a $15 item for $1.50 when they're marked down, I wouldn't automatically think a $7.99 item priced at $2.50 is a mistake. I would also trust Jenny to post a message with this deal that it is “officially a mistake”, before I would discount it as one or believe another poster.

It worked, bec. beforehand I went up to a nice CVS employee and asked them about the coupon policy. She and the other employee ladies were shocked and excited to hear about the refills being 2/$5. They had no clue, and grabbed a couple for themselves. So they worked the computer to do the coupon for me, and to be nice in return I gave them my 50cent wipes q. Exciting!

I went at lunch time and there were none left at my 24 hr store or even the regular store. Thought I could see if I could get a rain check for it but manager said they could only write one for what was advertised. Although they had the sales tag where the refill bags were. She also said it wasn't suppose to ring up that price and that it was the computers mistake. But I did get me a $2 off at the scanner and got me a free tub.

I used my coupons plus $5 ECB I had and bought 6 packs of wipes plus the ear rinse on sale for $12.99 (before tax)! And got $7.99 ECB back! Now if only our tax wasn't 10%!!!!

Well I went to CVS in Clarkesville,Georgia at 1:30p.m. and the deal was still on. I got 6 packs for $10.20. I used my coupon that I got out of the machine where you scan your CVS card it was $5 off $15 and also used a 50 cent off home mailer coupon and so I ended up paying only 1.70 with taxes. This was a Blessing for us we ended up saving $37.74 because these usually ring up for $7.99. Thanks for posting this the hidden deal it truly has been a Blessing and feels like I have won the Lottery. We have two kids so we go through alot of wipes.

Ok. I need to vent a little. I just went to my local CVS for the wipes deal and they were all gone. No surprise there. In case some of you Easley, SC folks are wondering, the Easley CVS off of Hwy 123 was out of the larger size wipes and so was the Powdersville store. They did still have some of the tubs of wipes (11:00am). I was able to scan my card and get a $2.00 off coupons for wipes and use it on one of the tubs on sale for $2.50 – It was still a great deal to only pay .50 cents for a tub of wipes. Wish I had got there in time for the refill pack though! :)

Went to Simpsonville (Fairview/Harrison Bridge), Fountain Inn (Main St) and they were both out. I then went to Simpsonville (Main Street) and I got 8 packs. They had a few left there. I did not try the West Georgia Road ones since I got what I needed.

***NOTE*** The Simpsonville cashier said that the Pampers one were like this too but I didn't have time to check her storyand I prefer Huggies wipes over Pampers wipes anyway.

at mine in irmo, SC they were offering the Pampers refills for 2.50 too!! They are acutally a bigger pack than the huggies with 236 count!! I only got the pampers bc the huggies were sold out, but still happy about the price!!

It is only Tuesday. Most stores will get another truck in before the end of the week. Just ask the clerk when will they get another truck and hope they have more wipes on it.

I'm just wondering why everyone is making such a big fuss over baby wipes. I don't think it's “greedy” to stock up on these when they are such a good price. My youngest baby is 4 so I don't need wipes anymore, but if I did need them, I wouldn't feel guilty stocking up on them. I've missed tons of great deals before because I couldn't make it to the store in time. I'm sure we all have. It's disappointing but somebody got there first!!! If you just want two, just buy two. If you want 11, buy 11. It's silly to me that some people think they have a “right” to this deal just because they know about it.

just ran out to cvs, i was able to print a $2 coupon just in case they had any left… they didn't have the large packs so i just picked up a small container to keep in the car. but i was able to use the coupon (even though it was for diapers!) so i got a box of wipes for .69 OOP. and even though i wasn't able to get the big pack hidden deal, i have no ill feelings for the lucky ducks who were able to clear the shelves as soon as they heard. High 5 to you and your stockpile of wipes. :)

If it's the same all over, then it's not a mistake. Individual stores set the prices in their system. At most, it's by area. Furthermore, it seems to be a very popular deal. If they haven't done something about the “mistake” by now, they're not going to which leads me to conclude that there is no mistake after all. :)

As for the 11 packages of wipes: Good for you! If you need them, get them. Did you beat an old lady down to get to them? How about snatching them out of some other shopper's hand? I didn't think so. Calm down people. They have stockers for a reason. If your store doesn't have them out on the shelves, ask them to get some from the back or get a rain check, but don't give somebody flack because she got to the deal first. From the sounds of it, she left packs on the shelves, so what's the big deal? Didn't get any? Be faster next time. It's that simple. You don't have a right to deals. This isn't a kid soccer league where everybody gets a trophy for showing up. (Total b.s. in my opinion.) You win some.You loose some. I hope your kids aren't learning the same attitude.

Amen. I one time wiped out an entire shelf of formula because it was so cheap and that was the last time I bought it before my daughter switched over to milk. My husband had lost his job, so I simply could not let the deal go buy.

Thanks for this tip!! With the economy the way it is, and people struggling to pay for basic essentials like food and electricity, deals such as these are so helpful. We did ask the cashier if it was a mistake or an unadvertised special, and she said as far as she knew it was just an unadvertised deal. As far as whether it's right or wrong to take advantage of a retailer's pricing mistake, the only thing I would say is that I think judgmental, condescending, self-righteousness is much worse. Just my opinion.

I was lucky enough to snatch a few packs at a neaby town when I took my son to the Dr there. I tried 3 of my local CVS stores (TN) when I got home, and they were all cleaned out. When I asked at 2 of the stores, they said that they took all the wipes off the shelf due to the pricing error. I live in Las Vegas (just moved from GA) and I was happy to find out that I can still use this website for some stores like CVS, Kroger/Smith's, and Walgreens. It's kind of nice to get these deals and have no problems with the shelves being wiped out. I remember going to stores in GA and many of times coming home with no luck because of the “southern savers” :) Anyway, this is just a testament of how awesome this website is…..thank you soooo much Jenny for helping all of us out so very much …. even on the west coast!!! At work , we have 2 large plastic bins for items donated by employees and customers. One is for the Wildwood Soup Kitchen (food items), and one is for Interfaith Ministries (shelter for victims of domestic abuse). Items such as toiletries and diapers, wipes etc. At lunch today, I went and purchased some wipes (2 pkgs – all I could afford) for Interfaith. I came back and told other people about the deal and they went out and bought some for Interfaith. We probably cleared out the shelves here in The Villages, Florida. My point is, don't judge, you may not know the whole story. By the way, I LOVE this website!!

Wow! What a bunch of poisonous comments on here! :( I went at 7 pm and the store was out of huggies refills. However, my store very graciously substituted Pampers wipes for the Huggies wipes, so I got the Pampers refill pack for the same price- and I had coupons off of those. No extra coupon, but you know, 4 dollars for a couple of Pampers refills is just fine with me! As for all of the “you took all of them and left none for me” people… isn't the point of couponing to STOCK UP when things hit a rock-bottom price???? Yes. It is the STORE'S fault for not stocking a bunch of something that is going to be on sale- something that CVS is notorious for. Do some people take more than seems fair? Yes. But should they really stop and say, “Oh, I better save these for the woman with 15 kids, even though I managed to get myself up and ready and organized enough to be early”? You may have a lot of kids, you may be upset, but honestly, you win some deals and you lose some deals- and I bet most of you have printed more than one copy of a coveted coupon when so many people want them, or take more than one coupon booklet at the store…. I hate it when people are attacking each other on a blog designed to save you $$ because people are doing just that. Life's not fair, and we are all doing the best we can. You'll get the next deal! I am impressed with the stores who substitute something else for a product they are out of. Your particular store must have a customer-friendly store manager. These people and businesses that are run by such practices always seem to have great customer return visit ratio. I would write a thank you to that particular store. Has anyone checked the pampers refill packages?? By the way, one CVS today was out completely and I didn't know if they even had a “raincheck” policy, but I asked – and the very nice cashier and another one was helping me, and the male was in the process of writing it out – I had to show him the ticket on the shelf – and the manager got involved, and said he would not be giving me any rainchecks on UNadvertised deals. Just went to the CVS in Lexington SC. None on the shelf but asked the store clerk if Ishe would check in the back and got 4 packs. Great deal. You can also get a coupon out of the dispenser in the store for 2.00 (this is hit or miss depending on what the dispenser is spitting out at the time) Thanks for the tip.

My store was fully stocked and had no problem with the price. I bought 2. I did not get the store $2Q. I had a $1/1 and a 50 cent/1 plus the scanner gave me a $5/15. I paid 90 cents for my whole transaction.

As for the horrid comments posted earlier, if it is a mistake, they have had 3 days to realize it and fix it. If it hasn't been done, then oh well. AND for it to be this way across the US leads me to believe it is an unadvertised sale.

Got the best deal ever on wipes at my CVS. My Q was $5 off $15 and I didn't need anything else so I bought 6 packs of wipes for $15, got $5 off, had a $5 ECB, and .50 manufacturer Q. Got 6 refill packs for $5.30, including tax. My only wish was that I'd dug out more .50 coupons, could have gotten 2.50 more off. oh well… not really complaining. so grateful for my deal!!

This post has gotten hilarious, people fighting over about how many wipes they are supposed to buy. It's like today I went to CVS, and they finally had all the Valentine's stuff at 90% off. There was a lady in the same isle, she started grabbing all the stuff before I could get any (and there was tons of candy left). I bet she would've grabbed the chocolate from my hands just to get it on sale. After she left I still managed to get my ummm… about 10 pounds of candy for 5 bucks lol and a couple of toys for the kids…. I think some people just get overexcited about sales and get extremely frustrated when they cannot get EVERY deal out there. Let it go people, be happy for others who got it :)

Some on these boards are worried about CVS or Huggies being ripped off. CVS puts a lot of item on sale/Clearance frequently and has been doing it for many years. Many items I have seen are not just discontinued item but nice new items. Main reason is that thos eitems are not sellinbg-period. That is the key. They are still getting money off on something that would otherwise be rotting on their shelves.

Having said that, some who are objecting to a “deal” are not thinking outside the box. CVS is still getting its money; manuf. is still selling its item which otherwise would not sell that quickly; it is just that they are not getting the “normal” price that they have set with exorbitant profit margin. Remember, they make these items in millions and the cost on each translates into only in pennies. That does not make it any ethical issue or defect in anyone's moral who are buying the stuff for their advatage. Just as companies take advantage of consumers, consumers can do the same. Unfortunately, that is the order of the day.

Therefore, this “deal” is probably not a mistake. They want you to buy them. It is also possible that manuf. may be replacing this stock with something new variety that they will introduce to the market soon. So they are making room for it.

Also, some appear to be objecting to coupon use or some are apprehensive about the use. Coupons are marketing 101. It is the competitionb that is driving the coupon war. They spend millions of dollars to get the coupon out to your door. Perhaps more money is lost in getting them out than they payoff in coupons to retailers. Only a small fraction of a percent of coupons are actually used. Just 1% of coupons used is considered a success. Retailers are getting their money;it is just that your “sugar-daddy” is paying a part for the product. ECBs have also a part deal with manufac. so CVs is getting a portion, if not 100% of ECB coupon value from manufauf. Manuf. in return claim those payouts to retailers as marketing cost in their profit/loss revenue and thus save a lot of tax money.

Bottomline, getting a deal is a smart move, not just for the consumer, but for all three partners-consumers, retailers, and manuf.-All enjoy a win-win-win situation for mutual benefits.

Sounds like CVS might have just figured out their mistake! I went to one this morning and was surprised because there was acctually a sale sign on the slef saying 2/$5 so I grabbed the last two. They rang up $8.39 so I took the salesman back to the shelf to show the sign. A manager came around and said she had made those signs since they were ringing up at 2.50 each but they just found out that it was a mistake so she took the sign down but let me get the sale price. I feel bad knowing it was a mistake but she insisted on letting me buy them for that price. But I guess corporate realized their mistake and we won't be getting any more sheap wipes!

Thank you for telling me about the scanner machine that prints coupons. I got the Huggies coupon (which I really don't need because my kids are beyond that stage.) but in addition to that coupon I also received a coupon for $1.00 off two packages of CVS brand candy. My children came with me to the store with their own money and I was able to teach them how to make their money stretch by using a good coupon and pooling their money.

I stopped at the one on Lake Murray Blvd. in Irmo, SC this morning. They had 2 packs but they wouldn't ring up 2.50, back at 7.99. It must have been an error. I am very disappointed though. As soon as I got off work yesterday, I stopped at that store and 3 others trying to get these wipes and they were sold out everywhere.

I really have to agree with some that are saying that people buy too many of the deals. I went to CVS today and there was no wipes or the general mills deal either. I think people just get a little greedy. The lady in front of me said she had been to CVS 3 time in 1 day. I mean that is a little over board. Jenny has been so good to help us out with all this and she tries to teach manners that go along with couponing. I know there is no limit but when I'm buying something I tell myself leave some for others because they need it too! I went to one of my local CVS this morning and the refills are not on sale, only the tubs. I ended up getting 4 tubs of Huggies, 2 tubs of Pampers (which is also on sale), and a small chocolate milk for my son for a little under 10. The coupon printer did not print off the $2 coupon for me but it did print off a $5 off $15 which I used along with my two huggies coupons and my pampers coupons.

It's pretty obvious that this was a mistake. The small tubs are on sale for $2.50 – absolutely no good reason why they would intentionally sell the large refill bags at the same price. Also, these are on sale NEXT WEEK for $5.99. That's a 'normal' sale price for these. This was a mistake, plain and simple, and they fixed it.

I was not trying to be rude, I was trying to explain from the point of view of someone who has been CVS-ing for almost 3 years and has seen the way these kinds of things work. I went yesterday and again today at 2 different locations in Greenville/Simpsonville, SC. I also called the store at Five Forks and Woodruff Rd and they said they DO get a truck in tomorrow but that her manager had said to pull the wipes if they get them b/c it's a mistake and they're not to sell them. Stores are only required to write rainchecks for ADVERTISED deals. This was not advertised, therefore they do not have to offer you a raincheck. If you walk into the store and they are sold out, and there is no sign, and it is not in the ad, then why would you expect them to believe you when you say they were on sale for $2.50? You could make up anything in the world and say 'oh it rang up that way yesterday' but they have no proof and no way to confirm it, and are not obligated to honor it since it was not advertised to the public.

I don't really think it's rude to point out the way consumer laws work, I'm sorry if I came across that way. Karen seemed to think that the manager does not understand rainchecks, but I was clarifying for Karen that she was mistaken about how they work. Yes there is a law that protects consumers by requiring stores to offer either a suitable substitute or a raincheck when out of stock on an advertised item, but the intent of that law is to keep stores from luring people in with advertised sales and then not having them available. We are not entitled to a raincheck for this deal b/c it was not advertised, i.e. it was not designed to lure people into the store, it was just *most likely* a pricing mistake that people found and shared with each other. Nothing wrong with getting in on the deal while it lasted – after all, it was CVS's mistake, not ours – however we are not entitled to a raincheck for an unadvertised deal. I wasn't trying to be rude, I was trying to explain why a store would probably not give a raincheck on a deal that is not advertised or signed anywhere.

ETA: Also nothing wrong with people who WERE able to get a raincheck – that is very lucky and you must have very nice stores if they were willing to give a raincheck for an unadvertised deal that was *most likely* a mistake. But it is by no means required and should not be expected – it was a wonderful perk that some people were able to get one, but those people were very lucky that their store is just that nice, and honestly the store is probably very smart for keeping customers happy even when they are not legally obligated to do so.

I appreciate your wealth of knowledge on the deals, sales and prices of items at CVS. I think it's AWESOME that you've been “CVS-ing for almost 3 yrs now”. I didn't think that CVS owed me any kind of raincheck, it's kinda one of those things, you can ask and well they can say no, like they did this time. I didn't realize there was law on giving a raincheck, but I do understand why now and thank you for clairfying it for me. I think it's great that some were able to get a raincheck. Customer satisfaction is a HUGE thing that most companies need to work on and some stores are lucky enough to have a manager recognize that it's good to keep the customer coming in even when the “sale” is their mistake. I knew that the price couldn't have been right b/c it didn't make sense to sell one item that contains a smaller amt for the same price as one that contains a larger amt. Unfortunately, even with all the technology that's out there, there can be a mistake made(someone keying in the wrong code at their corporate office) and this time some were able to take advantage of it. From now on I'll be sure to watch the postings closer to get the deals when they first come out. Thanks so much for your many comments on here b/c I've really enjoyed reading them.

Went to my local CVS around 3:30 p.m. today (2-24) and they rang up regular price for the refill pack (7.99). I don't know if corp. found out about it and changed it or if just my bad luck.

I went to the Wal-Greens in Clayton, Georgia to see if I could get a deal on the wipes. I scanned the refills at the price scanner and they were all $7.99. Oh well.

I went today and they rang up 7.99, but I went yesterday and it was 2.50. I only bought one yesterday, do you think they changed it or did I do something wrong? As a furloughed SC teacher and mother of 2 still in diapers, this was something I was excited about. :-)

Mine said they would. A truck comes to restock my store on Friday & I was told if there are no wipe refills delievered then, I can get a raincheck.

Yep. I sent my poor friend to CVS to finally convince her that “there really are deals out there.” (she uses no coupons)… and the price rang up for $7.99 :( The deal is gone

:-( I went this morning and unfortunately it is not ringing up 2/$5 any longer unless it was just this one CVS but it was regular price for 7.99. I went yesterday but the CVS was all out of the refills.

I admit that I am new to to couponing. However, I printed out my “guide to CVS'ing” & took it with me along w/ the CVS circular & coupons. I get my Rx & I get a coupon for $3 off $14 purchase. So, I buy $15 worth of stuff & get my $3 discount. However, I never got any ECB's. I expected to be able to “shop” with my $15 or so worth of CVS money. It didn't work for me. I had planned on buying CVS brands too. Very discouraged & disappointed!!!

What items did you purchase? In order to get back ECBs for your purchases, you have to purchase items that are shown in the ad as giving back ECBs – and the registers are very particular that you must purchase the exact varieties advertised in order to get the reward. Also, did you use your CVS card? The ECB deals only work when you use your CVS card. I'm sorry your trip didn't go the way you wanted it to. I'm sure everyone here would love to help you figure out what went wrong so that you can have a better experience next time.

Not exactly related to this anymore since the price has been changed, but can someone tell me the shelf life of these refill packs? I picked up one for my friend's baby shower, but she isn't even due for 3 months. Will they still be good then? Like they don't dry out or anything do they? I was thinking of grabbing more but wanted to make sure they don't go bad or something. And now apparently it's too late anyway.

they shoudl be fine. I have two cases that my parents get me and they last probably upwards of 6 months or more as long as they are not opened.

These will last pretty much forever as long as you don't open them. And even if they do somehow get dried out, you can add a little water to the container and they are good as new. :)

Hi ya'll. First a vent – I never get any cool coupons out of the crts (insert big frowny face) or any $/$$ in my emails (insert super big frowny face). Ok I'm done venting.

I'm in VA – went to my local CVS store earlier this week… was able to get 4 things of wipes (at the 2.50 price). I was pretty excited and then I was out again today and thought I'd stop by to see if they had any still. I went in and they had two left. *Yay* but then at the register, they rang up as 7.99. I had the same cashier I'd had earlier in the week and I asked her why they weren't ringing up as 2/5. She said the sale price was for the smaller wipes. So I don't know if it's like this in all areas, but just thought I'd give ya'll a heads up.

FYI — I went to 2 different CVS stores in Durham, NC tonight and the larger refill wipes were scanning at $7.99, and NOT 2/$5.00. The only ones on sale there were the wipes actually advertised in the flyer. Bummer.

I have 4 friends who are currently pregnant, I have a baby myself as well as a young child, and have a friend who teaches 1st grade. I bought 18 packs and intend on distributing them as I see accordingly and keeping several packs for my children. I think stocking up is a wonderful thing, and like Jenny says if you can pay nearly nothing for something and are able to give them to someone who needs them…its a wonderful feeling. I intend on doing just that. Greedy….I think not.

This pricing mistake was fixed several days ago – it was only $2.50 for a couple of days. Unfortunately Jenny did not update the original post to reflect that, so several people did not realize that the 'deal' had ended if they did not read the most recent posts. Sorry you missed out, believe me I know the feeling.

as it turns out, i went thursday (too late) to check this deal out, and my local store told me that it was a corporate mistake…but oh well. i'm not going to die over baby wipes or stress myself out over it. as we all know, deals come and go. and besides, all the money this site saves me all together, it's not going to kill me to buy wipes at a regular price when needed. afterall, my kids needs come first. thanks jenny for posting and helping those in need. for those of you having a new baby or who have had a new baby, congrats and enjoy! :) name brand baby wipes and diapers become name brand shoes and electronics in no time.
