Restaurant.com Thousand of popular restaurants. Fo

Restaurant.com is offering a great deal just in time for Valentines Day! Use code  HEART to get 80% off all gift certificates and dinner of the month club purchases AND you will get $15 towards FTD Flowers!

That makes it $2 for $25 in savings!

Think of them as a $10 off or $25 off coupon. Also note that every store has different requirements. In general though savings $25 off a $35 or $50 meal is still wonderful! Or saving $10 off a $15 meal, no complaints here!!

For us, this helps make an inexpensive Valentines Day! Note: Though that many state that they are not valid on Holiday’s so you might need to have your dinner out a day or two before or after.

I work at a restaurant that is a member of restaurant.com It is an advertising coupon. The restaurant makes NO MONEY on the coupons we comp the loss. The idea is that people will like what they find and come back again. The only ones that makes any money is restaurant.com. Our restaurant has been more than accomodating accepting the coupons. Unfortunately people are being so rude that we are soon to be no longer with restaurant.com because of the abuse.

Heads up. One of my co-workers purchased one and then called the restaurant. They do not even honor these at all. So before you purchase, call and double check. Luckily the two restaurants I purchased do honor them.

I asked the owner of my fav sushi restaurant, he told me I could use the GC if I came in myself; even though the coupons specify party of 2. I tend to eat enough for 2. I told him I wanted to be fair to him and he said he would rather I come in more often.

My question is...on restaurants that have a $50 minimum but only offer a $25 gift card, can you buy two and use them at the same time?
  • Most have a limit of one certificate per table.

When they do these 80% off deals, they are already out of the restaurants we normally go to... but I could get a gift certificate for myself, and use it on the first of the month (when they are restocked) to get one I'd like, right? I might have to try it.

We use these ALL the time and they are great! Just make sure you read the entire coupon. We ended up with a $72 lunch because the coupons said dinner only. Talk about a way to ruin a meal! That is more than I spend on groceries in a WEEK! Also, check the zip code of where you are going on vacation. This is a great way to save a little extra while your there!

You need to call the resturant and ask if they will accept these this weekend. I have called four different places and none of them will take them Friday through Sunday due to Valentine's Day. Just wanted to give heads up!!!

thanks jenny. just when i thought we couldnt afford to celebrate valentines...

These are GREAT discounts! We use these regularly for our favorite Hibachi restaurant, and it cuts our bill in half!

FYI on Restaurants.com...there is a minimum purchase when you try to use your G.C. and very limited restaurants. We received two $25 G.C. from Restaurants.com for Christmas and every restaurant required a minimum $50 purchase before you could use your G.C. and there were very few restaurants to choose from (not big restaurant chains).

What I don't like about it is the requirement of at least 18% gratuity. That is around $6+! But I guess that is how they can accept these certificates.
  • sus6
Why would you NOT want to give at least 18% gratuity? (unless you receive terrible service..... Servers in SC work for $2.13/ hr. and depend on tips to live.)
  • jengc
Precisely that reason. I have to pay 18% no matter what. I normally pay 20% if they are good but I like the fact that I have a choice. That is the whole point of paying a gratuity.
  • Chad
As a server, that is the dumbest excuse and used by many. If you "normally" leave 20% then why does leaving 18% bother you? Just add the extra 2%.
