My Walgreens doesn't do ink refills! BUMMER!
  • TwinJoys
Had an empty cartridge, the time to go, & printed off the coupon...wouldn't you know, they couldn't fill the cartridge I had! :-(

Most of the time I have them do our refills....watch the paper and they will often times have it for 9.99. But this is WAY better. The refills work just as well as a new one....although now that I'm couponing I'm using LOTS more ink...:)

I just took my hp cartridge and the guy took it and said come back in 10 min. 10 min later he said it didn't work and asked if it was a starter cartridge. It was the cartridge that came with the printer (a recent purchase) but that seemed odd since it looks exactly like the replacement cartridge. Has anyone heard of this?
  • Jenny
Also, remember to keep the box that the refill comes in. On each one that I've gotten recently, there is a "Save 50% on your next ink cartridge refill" coupon on the side of the box. So, I haven't paid over $6.50 for ink in over four months. Happy printing! :)

I just spent $26.00 on a cartridge from Walmart b/c #1. I didnt know that Walgreens did this and #2 I was too impaitent to come ask if anyone knew about any coupons etc...........Luckily for me I havent opened it yet! Back to WalMart it goes, and then to Walgreens I go!WOOHOO!
  • I just took advantage of this deal earlier this afternoon and it worked great! I printed the coupon (and yes, it took two pages and looked like a printout of the webpage) and took it, along with the blank ink cartridge from my Lexmark printer, to the photo counter. My total was less than $6, it took about 15 minutes for them to fill it and so far it's printing great!

You can find a list of all the cartridges they service and do a search for which locations have ink refilling capabilities here: http://www.walgreens.com/topic/inkrefill/printer-cartridge-refills.jsp

Did anyone else's coupon print on two pages?
  • amy
Yes, mine printed on two pages too. Just do a screen grab and paste it into Word or something and then print it. Makes it easier...
  • amy
Sorry, I should have said that screen grab just means to hit the ctrl key and then prt sc key and then paste into a document, hope that helps!

Does anyone know how much ink refills generally cost? I've never gotten refills I always just buy a new cartridge. Does it work just as well?
  • Donna
It is usually around $13 for a refill. I refill mine all the time. It works just as good, but eventually you will need to replace the cartridge. I think they get worn out after a few refills.
  • Donna
You have to make sure that Walgreens refills your type of ink cartridge too. Not sure if they have a list on their site or not but you can always ask at the photo counter what type they accept. And I would assume it would have to be the same cartridge since you are refilling it. HTH.
  • Melissa
Does it need to be the same kind of cartridge you are buying?
  • Donna
Woohoo awesome, I needed ink too!! Thanks Jenny!!
