I received a letter today in the mail from Bayer Co. stating that they could not issue me a rebate since I had used a coupon. So there is no profit on buying these.
    I am very dissappointed.
  • Ginger
The profit is in the Register Rewards. This week, there has been a $10.00 RR. I paid $1.46 tax for my monitor, and got back $10.00.

Hi Donna-when I hear this kind of tom-foolery, I RUN to the next WGS in our neighborhood. You've got yourself a mgr. that likes to make it up as he goes along! There has never been a WGS policy of this nature-no glitch, just baloney, and lots of it. What a laugh...

Has anyone ever used an RR from Walgreens at Walmart? I know they are a manufacturer coupon and I know I have used it at either Harris Teeter or Walmart but I cannot remember which one.

I went to Wags yday. I got the bayer glucose meter, 2 hunts jello packs (on sale for $1 each), plus two boxes of Quaker chewy granola parts 2/$4, The total before the coupon was $20.99. After q was $7.28. I got the $10 RR but I did not get the $5 RR. I only got a $5 Q off bayer lancets. That is why I hate Walgreens. My deals never work out.
  • sricard
Mine was the same and I did it Monday in Lexington. No extra 5.00 just 5 off the lancets. You were not alone on this one.
  • Shon
The Jello packs are not included in the deal, it the Hunt's tomato paste & Diced tomatoes. Also the granola bars are not included, its only the Quaker oatmeal. Hope this helps.

Tonight I got the Contour meter and 7 hunts tomato sauce (they were 4/5.00 and I had a 1.00 Q) and I received 15.00 in RR's! I was a bit hesitant because the sign under them didn't list Bayer at all as part of the deal. It did list Tylenol however.
  • Ginger
I know someone asked this on the old thread, so it may have been answered already. If so, sorry. Does anyone have a listing of the specific items in the deal? For example, is it any Colgate item, or only certain ones? It's driving me crazy because I remember seeing the ad, and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks! Or maybe someone knows where there is a scan of the actualy ad?

I am new to Walgreens and Register Rewards. I find them very confusing!! Can you use them on an item even if the RR is a higher amount than the item you are purchasing? For example, I want to get an Olay cleanser for $7, I have a $3 coupon. Can I get another small item for $1 or so and use the $3 coupon and a $5 RR? I learned the hard way that I could not use a coupon and a RR on one item! I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
  • Anne
Yeah you would need one more item, so that the number of items and manufactor coupons (which rewards count as). That's why Jenny always lists the filler items. I usually throw in milk or some other non coupon item that I need.
  • dawnj123
Ok, so it is just the number of Q's and not the dollar amount of the q's - I have 1 RR that is $5. I will give it a try! Thanks
  • Lynne
Things to keep in mind at walgreens is you cannot have more Q's than items and they count the RR's as Q's. Also you cannot use an RR on the same item that you got it from.

I just had a disheartening trip to Walgreens. The manager said they are no longer giving out RR's for items purchased with RR's. The cashier explained that there has been a glitch in the system for the last few months and that it is being corrected and will (soon) no longer give out RR's for items if purchased with RR's. Have you heard of this?

Something similar happened to me. First, I purchased the Blink Tears and Vitamin Schtick Lipcare with a -1.50 Q for the Tears and a $5RR. I got back $8RR and $2RR, which I then used to purchase two boxes of Joint Juice with a B1G1 Q, received $10RR, which I took to a second Walgreens and used to purchase seven cases of Pepsi and got back $10RR. For my next transaction, I bought two more boxes of Joint Juice with a B1G1 and the $10RR - the manager warned me that the RR wouldn't print out (he didn't specifically say that it wouldn't print out because I was paying with the Pepsi RR, but that was the implication), but the $10RR printed out just fine. The cashier questioned whether she should give it to me after it printed out, and the manager said fine. It was only on my final transaction, when I attempted to buy Blink Tears (with -1.50Q) and Vitamin Schtick with three filler items, that I ran into unexpected problems. The $2RR printed for the Vitamin Schtick, but the $8RR for the Blink Tears DID NOT. Does anyone know if the system is able to "track back" the purchase history with the Register Rewards and determine that I'd already had the RR for Blink Tears print once? Even so, I did not see anywhere in the ad that indicated "limit one" on that particular item.

Technically speaking, Companies won't give out a RR (which is technically considered a manufacturer's coupone) when you use a manufacturer's coupon from the same company to buy it. Same as how you can't use the RR for an item on the same item later.
  • terrianne421
I went to one Walgreens and purchased the blink and lip care, used a $2 coupon on the blink, went to a 2nd Walgreen made the same purchases and got the RR there, I didn't use these RR as I plan on using them Next week when I don't have as much "extra money" but so far haven't had any other issues.
  • Donna
I work at Walgreens and this is new CRAZY news to me. I know you can't use RR that are from the same company to buy a item that you would receive RR back on HOWEVER you can use RR from another company to buy a item and you still get RR back.
Example: If you buy something Johnson & Johnson product and you're suppose to get RR back on that item, you cannot use a previous Johnson & Johnson RR on that item and expect to get RR back

If you don't care to get the RR back then you can still use the previous RR to pay for that item but you would get no RR back

Example 2: if you are buying something that is Johnson & Johnson and you use a previous Proctor & Gamble RR toward that item, you still get the Johnson & Johnson RR that is advertised on that item.

I hope this helps and doesn't sound too confusing:)
  • kelvin
No, haven't heard of this and I have been using RR and getting RR (different products though). From time to time it doesn't print but I show them the ads then they correct it. Most of the time when it doesn't print it's because of the RR printers have some problem.
  • lynne
I have not heard this, but I hope not all of the Wags jump on that bandwagon!!
