Crystal, I know this thread didn't go quite so nicely but I think the comment that you made back a few days was what TCP97 was talking about. You said, “Yeah, there is 1 card per HOUSEHOLD, not per person. So, if you got 2 then you ARE cheating. I'm all about getting a good deal, but not at the expense of honesty/integrity.” I'm saying this very nicely and I’m not trying to be hurtful but may be you don't realize that putting words in all caps is considered shouting. Also, saying that someone is being dishonest and has no integrity is not very nice either. I saw several posts back that someone slammed you as well and I felt they were out of line for jumping all over you. That wasn’t right of them and I was sorry to see it happen to you.

Please know Crystal, that you are not the main person I am writing about and it was just in reading this thread that I finally felt compelled to put in my two cents. I have been holding this back for a long time. There are random comments from more and more that just feel out of line and I don’t think any are from bad people. I think we all just need to re-read what we post before we put it down for others to read. I know that if we were in a room, it would be much easier to convey our thoughts and to have a discussion that didn’t get misunderstood so quickly. Unfortunately words can be taken different ways when people read them and the internet is all about what we type without any of the helpful inflections of our voices which soften what otherwise might sound harsh.

Please, realize that I'm actually extremely nervous to write what I feel because I think someone is going to trash me for saying it. I'm not trying to be on a high horse or a soap box but I have been feeling this way for a couple of months now. I've even written to Jenny about it as well in hopes that we can just help our fellow couponers by trying to share info a gentle manner and discuss things without innuendos or name calling.

If I receive any angry negative responses to this, I can honestly say I will stop reading the comments and only concentrate on all the wonderful help Jenny has so generously given to me over the last five months since I started couponing. I always strive to be helpful but I will sadly feel compelled to stop trying to help others because of the bitterness of some. I have way too many sad things happening outside of this computer to be caught up in silliness that only drains me more. Thank you so much to those who read such a long post. I apologize for going on and on. I just hope I said something that was helpful to some and not hurtful to anyone. These are detected by computers automatically and kicked out. Any use of a coupon against what is specified is considered fraud and is prosecuted by manufacturers and coupon distributing companies.

In my opinion, if you have time, energy and resources, you can legally challenge what happened to you. One argument might be that manuf. Q you presented does not state “not valid with any other offer.” (?) If they do not state so, then BOGO should be accepted with store sales in general (unless the retailer has a better legal argument to make). Stores sales is one offer and manuf is extending another. Also, bluntly refusing a Q to one “class' of consumers, and accepting from another could be construed as a discrimination-most serious violation a public entity can engage in. In addition, stores must not be picking and choosing when and from whom to accept Qs. In your case, they were accepting at one time and not at another; then they must have some reasonable cause. Though, I must admit I do not know exact consumer protection law text at the moment that will cover all this. I was wondering about the Coors Light (pepsi product) rebate too.

In your case, it seems that ECB went thru even for taxes which was fine. If it went thru for the total balance, its great. The cashier should not be doing what he/she did. Or, I am thinking the way your balance is coming up, is that after scanning the $2ECB, your balance might have been negative -0.19c, not +19 cents. So, the end balance cant be neg., the cashier should have adjusted the ECB to 1.81 instead making you pay. You would have lost 19 cents from ECB.
