        I tried the tp coupon yesterday and the cashier would not take it because there is a larger size tp available. But maybe another cashier will – it's worth a try!

      Earth Fare in Augusta, GA offers a 5% daily military discount.

      Marcal is the biggest air and water polluter in the state of New Jersey. They have been fined almost a billion dollars by the EPA, and do much more harm than good. They filed Chapter 11 to avoid paying for the clean up, and also used it as an opportunity to break their union contract. Nice guys, huh? Then when they emerged from bankruptcy, they painted themselves green. For them to claim to be a green, eco-friendly company is a joke, as well as a lie.

      Love it. I wish EF would take competitor's coupons. They said that they would, but they weren't supposed to. When Target is right next door, I think it behooves them to take coupons from Target….Just sayin'! :) But, I do like these coupons, and mambosprouts.com has organic coupons. Oh, and the EF coupon book is awesome! As well as all of the tearpads in the store. I saved over $25 between sales, coupons, freebies on my last visit!

        I don't think it is spam. I think someone has figured out Marcal is a fraud, not green, and hurts the environment. And wants people to know it.

      I just got back from Earthfare off Johnston Road in Charlotte and got my deal:

      1 roll of Marcal toilet tissue
      1 roll of Marcal paper towel
      Free coffee
      Free granola bars
      Free 1 bottle of salad dressing (I never the pantry makeover)

      I paid 56 cents. They were all out of the 4 pack Marcal toilet tissue.

      Just a thought…
      Earth Fare has many items that you can buy in bulk. The items are in dispensers and you bag it yourself. You can buy as much, or as little, as you need. Last week I saw brown rice for $0.89 a pound, which is cheaper than Publix's store band. They also have flour and natural sugars for very competitive prices. I'm thinking that I will get some brown rice and my free coffee and granola.

      also, earthbound farms salads are BOGO at earthfare this week and there is a .75 coupon for them in the earthfare winter savings coupon booklet. i picked up the booklet a week ago at the front of the store where the bulletin boards and free magazines are.

          i'm not sure, i haven't been in to the store, i just saw the BOGO deal in their weekly ad. they're $3.99 at harris teeter regular price, so i'd guess about that much.

      The prepackaged coffee they direct you to is more than 1 lb – not complaining but be advised that if you pick this up – mine and the lady's in front of me – were 1.3lbs so we both paid around $3.5 for ours. Still great coffee – make your own bag. If you signed up for the free Kashi cereal sample – theirs was $3.58 a box with the $1.50 off – I thought was a good deal.

      I cannot belive that they will give you a pound of coffee and a box of granola for free…I was waiting for an undercover cop to stop me on the way out for shoplifting…thanks for the coupon!

      I grabbed several things in EF this morning. I picked up the coffee, granola, Marcel TP and PT.

      My store in Chattanooga, TN, also had the family size (14 oz) bags of Kettle Chips on sale for $3.99 (Reg EF price: 5.29). There was a $1/2 manuf in SS 1/31, and I found a tearpad in the store for $1/2 that was an EF coupon!! My store just opened in the last few months, and there were tearpads EVERYWHERE! Most where EF but some were manuf q's!

      All of us at Marcal welcome valid criticism and open discussion on blogs (and everywhere), but we want you to know that “Peter” leaves comments like the one here anytime he or she sees something written about us…and leaves them anonymously, so there is no way we can get in touch and set the facts straight. The phrases used are always very similar, the kind of pattern that almost shouts, ”spam campaign.” This kind of nameless attack isn’t in the open spirit of blogs, and we think it’s a disservice to readers and to our hard-earned reputation. The simple fact is that we make our products in a manufacturing system designed to minimize our environmental impact.
      We invite the person making these attacks to come pay us a visit; we have noting to hide! We think our actions speak for themselves; otherwise, why would a group like the NRDC cite our factory in a discussion of companies leading the way environmentally in the New York metro area?       Marcal didn’t recently “paint itself green.” We’ve been using recycled paper since 1950, long before green was in. As for the lawsuit, it was settled with no admission of wrong doing, enabling the company to emerge from bankruptcy to protect and grow jobs under a new owner and management team that understands that, if you are going to market yourself as green, you better do things right.

        If Marcal is so concerned about the environment, why don't they:
        1) Tell us how to use less paper. There are many ways. Cloth napkins, hanky's and towels all make much more eco-sense. You can use discarded clothes, and be much more green
        2)Stop shipping product made in NJ, across the US. Would make a much bigger environmental impact.
        3)Clean the river next to their plant, that they have polluted for 50 years and destroyed. Why not clean that up, with their illicit, false green claims. You can't walk away from your past. Even though they are trying.
        And a good PR campaign can win many awards. But facts, when properly examined, speak for themselves. If you think Marcal is eco-friendly, I am Santa Clause, Virginia.

          I agree, Jenna. There is no such thing as a “green” paper company. It is purely a marketing ploy. Marcal recycles because it is cheaper to do so. So the way to sell an inferior product, but still make money, is to convince the consumer they are helping the environment by using their product. Even though that is a lie. Marcal has contributed to massive air and water pollution, and continue to do so. But they are eco- friendly? That is tough for me to believe.

      I think paying a multi-million dollar fine is an admission of guilt. In any event, anyone seeing your products should do themselves a favor, and take a few small steps away. They are not green, they are inferior in functionality, and most importantly, they are easily replaced for those who really want to be green. Your product saves no trees, contrary to your claims. The only way to save trees is to stop using paper. I am sure you support that, right? Start delivering an honest message, stop claiming to be what you are not, clean up the river you have destroyed, and deliver a quality product. Maybe then you get credibility. Until then, it is all just green marketing BS. And you know it.
