Where did you get the capri sun, del monte, and oatmeal q's?
  • tlofton
The capri sun was a manufacturer q - $1/1 good on the sunrise line of capri suns. The pig does carry these and they are included in the sale. They are available cheap on ebay.

There are several links to Del Monte coupons in the Hot Coupon World database. Here is one: http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?bt=wg&tqnm=... I already at my limit so can't really tell if it is still valid.

There are several Quaker coupons floating around but this one at red plum should do the trick: http://www.redplum.com/pages/ViewOffer.aspx?id=...
The True Delights don't appear to be included in this sale
  • Michelle
I am excited that the Pig is doing the coupon thing again this week- use 10 coupons get 10 GB. Got my ad in the mail yesterday. There is a manufacturer q on the back for $3 off a Butterball turkey. They are $1.29/ lb. It also says the website has printable coupons (www.thepig.net). I haven't checked it out yet but will soon.
  • becky.e
I went today. Spent 27. Used 10 coupons. 2nd transaction paid .24 in tax for 2 free hams (20 lbs.) The only reason I spent so much was because I picked up some fruit and a couple things without coupons.
  • Jeri
Don't forget to redeem your greenbax this weekend for free groceries! Also the current ad shows either free ham or free turkey with 5 greenbax starting 3/31. Do you think it is better to save 5 of my greenbax to use for that or go ahead and use them this weekend?
  • liz_in_SC
Great catch Jeri! Since each GBX is normally worth approx $1.50, I'd say 5 GBX ($7.50 value) is well spent on an item worth much more. I would probably buy a hame or turkey anyway without coupons or much of a special price. Using 5 GBX = cha-ching!!
    liz_in_SC
  • becky.e
Good idea. I did a dumb thing and used mine to order from the online catalog. After several days, they emailed saying it is back ordered until the middle of April. I am a little jealous of everyone actually seeing the gx pay off. I will think about that if they do it again.
  • Jeri
I was able to get both the turkey and the ham free today using 10 gbax. Total cost before gbax on both was over $35 so it was definitely better for me to use the 10 gbax on the meat instead of waiting until the end of the month to redeem them for only $15 in groceries. The great thing was, I also bought 10 other items while I was in the store and scored another 10 gbax that I will use at the end of the month. Though the pig in my town is really expensive compared to Aldi where I usually shop, if I go and only buy 10 items with a coupons, it has definitely been working to my benefit. I hope the Pig continues this coupon promotion for a long time.
  • Jeri
I asked the cashier and she confirmed the turkeys are 10-12 lb ones. This time of year turkeys are .99 per pound at my area grocery stores (including Aldi) so I decided to save 10 of my greenbax. Hopefully I will be able to get one ham and one turkey and use all 10.
  • Kelly
Went to the Piggly Wiggly in S. Macon yesterday and was surprised when I got to the register that the Manager told me they were not excepting internet coupons any longer. They have received a number of copied coupons and have decided to not take them at all! We told her that most of the coupons; that everyone is getting is from the internet but that didn't matter to them. Just letting you know so your not surprised as I was! My whole cart was based off internet coupons!!!
  • mariek
FYI- Pig has Ore Ida 3/$5 this week through the 23rd. That is a great price. I usually pay $2.50 each. Jenny posted the Q previews for this coming Sunday and it looks like there will be a Q for the Hashbrowns. They are part of the sale! If you get this Q in your region you can use it towards earning the GBX. ; )
  • Mary_P
Piggly Wiggly in TN DOES double coupons up to 60 cents. I don't get their flyer because it is not in my city. One is in Spring CIty, TN and one is in Pikeville, TN I don't think they do green baxs, but I will check out their flyer as soon as I get one and see if it is basically the same sales or not.I found their web site, but you cannot view sales flyer there.

The total of these transactions was $37.34. I received 30 books of Greenbax worth $45 for a net profit of $7.66. I have started taking cash from the gas budget to pay for groceries at The Pig and will use the Greenbax for gas. It is like getting an extra 20% gas for the same money and getting the groceries for free.
  • Caroline
I went in to the Pig this week to alert them to problems with Pitt Stops and the Greenbax program. I happened to mention that I really liked the 10 Greenbax for 10 coupons program. The manager on duty told me that it was his understanding the program will now be offered every month. Shoppers can participate in the program for the first 3 weeks of every month (through the 23rd I think he said) and then redeem the Greenbax for up to $15 off their grocery bill the last week of the month. Let's watch this.....
  • tlofton
what problems have you had with the Pitt Stops? I haven't used one yet, but I plan to with the ridiculous number of Greenbax I have amassed.
  • Caroline
I have gone to the Pitt Stop on Forest Drive 4 times this week attempting to use my stamps to buy gas. They said they could give me credit towards my stamps but not use them. When I insisted, they claimed their internet server was down try the next day - 3 tries later - no luck. I talked to the Piggly Wiggly store manager and he planned to contact Pitt Stop to discover what the problem is. I talked to another person who has received credit on greenbax from buying gas there but never attempted to use the stamps to pay for the gas.
  • I might actually shop at the Pig more often! I went to use my 10 coupons today. I planned to buy 3 pkgs. of Butterball ground turkey (2.50 - .75). When I got there, they were buy one get one free. (sell by date today) Here is today's run:
    1 loaf Sarah Lee bread 1.99 .55 q
    1 gal. store milk 3.19 1.00 Peelie

If anyone else had good deals, please continue to post. There is at least one more week to try to build up points. Thanks
  • jessica
I would love to go to the Pig today, thanks for your scenerio. I do feel a little lost without Jenny's post on this weeks deals for the Pig, though.

None in Columbia do. They also do not double. Good luck!!

Beechnut let's grow micro. tubs= $1.25 at the Pig. Use the $1/1 Q's that are out there and pay 25 cents each. I don't remember which paper they were in but I ordered 40 from ebay. I plan to mainly use these to earn my GBX this time plus my 3 year old eats the cheesy potatoes like candy! : )
  • liz_in_SC
Amazing promotion!! Holy Cow!! I use my coupons, get the discounted merchandise and a reward of $1.50 value as a bonus. I'm doing a happy dance.
Here are some tips that I've found help:
    1. Use all your "free"'s, "nearly free"'s and BOGO coupons first to get you started. Then when you've banked a few GBX you can really rock and roll with this promo.
    2. Look for small items, "on sale" items, clearance items, and free w/GBX items for the most value for your coupon.
    3. Look for items you have a coupon for and would have to buy somewhere anyway (that extra $1.50 savings can make it a good deal at the pig).
    4. Be nice to the cashiers...many are just learning about coupons and their quirks. If a coupon gives you a problem, just have them take off or get it fixed at CS. Make it as easy and pleasant for them as possible.
    6. If your store in unsure about IP coupons, point out the Smart Source IP Coupon link on Piggly Wigglys own website. Those are good coupons. After I pointed it out to the store manager here, their policy now is if it scans it's OK.
    5. Have fun! Enjoy your savings!
    Liz

Here are some low price or prices that are about what they run at Publix with coupons. These prices were for the Forest Drive, Columbia, SC Pig. I don't file by coupon source, so I can't tell you where to get the coupons, but hopefully this will get you started. Remember for each final price, you are also earning $1.50 in gbx!

The Pop Tarts are free with 1.5 GX. There were $1/2 q in Nutrigrain bars. Also the Hunts ketchup was free with GX with several coupons out there. The Pig in downtown Summerville accepted my printed coupons with no problems even the B1G1. I didn't take advantage of this last month, but I loved $15 in free groceries last month. I plan to do better this go around.
  • mariek
Yea! They extended it. The manager at our local store said they might. I'm going to try harder to do more than two deals this time. Here is what did:

Trip 1- $42 purchase- $10/$40 Q put out by our local store- $10 in Manuf. Q's ( made me 10 GBX) Total OOP- $22 and made 10 GBX

    Trip 2- $45 purchase- $10/$40 Q- $10 manuf. Q's ( made 10 GBX for using them) = $25 OOP and banked 10 GBX.

Last 3 days in Feb. went back in to redeem GBX. for $15 off my purchase.
Trip 1- Their Ground chuck and pork chops were BOGO so I got 4 packs free with my 10 GBX. : )

Trip 2- Did the exact same as trip 1. So ended up with 4 packs ground chuck (2lbs each) and 4 packs boneless center cut pork chops for free.
  • mariek
Forget to mention: spent total of $45 in two weeks, two trips and redeemed 20 GBX for $60 in free meat. It was BOGO so it ended up being $30 with sale but normally would have been $60 for all 8 packs of meat! : )
  • kschrodt
last time i went i couldn't find the buddy bars or fisher snack mix. I enjoyed getting some free food last weekend though. publix is still my main store, but i went to piggly wiggly once a week during the feb. promotion and used 10 coupons each time. by the end of the month, i had my 30 greenbax that i used to get 6 gallons of milk, 4.5 lbs of ground beef, and 8 boneless center cut pork chops for FREE - plus I got $25 of free gas too! i'll try it again in march!
  • Amy
What ARE the couponing rules for the Pig? Can we use printed out coupons? Can we double? Competitors?
  • amyt
I'm shopping at the Pig in Lexington, SC. My experience in Feb at this location-- they take printed coupons as long as they scan, also accepted Qs for free items, and I've done 2 transactions back to back and gotten 10GBX each time (although the cashier wasn't amused). I was disappointed to see the same items from 2w ago still on sale today. My Pig is small with a limited selection and many expired items. Check the dates before you buy.
  • GGood
I had a GREAT experience with this last week. The three Piggly Wiggly stores I visited in Columbia, SC do not double coupons. Some were very weary of printed internet coupons due to some serious counterfeiting issues, but the three I visited took them. One store even had numerous counterfeit q's posted by items. Their prices are significantly higher than Publix, but if you use the q's on low cost items, you can make out like a bandit in free groceries at the end of the month.

Since I didn't have any gbx, I looked for items under a dollar that I had a q for. I used (2) .50/1 Mahatma rice q's and (4) Dole pineapple .55/1 q's with an out of pocket of about $1.30 and earned 6 gbx that were worth $9.00 (6 x $1.50) off my order at the end of the month. I also used gbx to buy their gbx specials and then used a coupon on that item. I got several packs of butterball turkey for a net of .25 gbx each. (The special was that the turkey was free if you used 1.25 gbx but you got 1 gbx for the coupon, so the net was .25 gbx. That's about .40!)

They limit you to 10 gbx ($15) off your order, but I don't know if you could do multiple transactions with $15 each. Since it's hard to find produce coupons, I used lots of the gbx for produce and things I wouldn't normally splurge on. You have to change your ususal mindset, but if you start with items that are under $1, you can build up gbx pretty quickly. It was really fun!

Hey, Jenny, if you need someone to help with a "Getting Started at the Pig" note, let me know. I'm all over this!

I think it depends on the store. I would call and ask. My store does not double and does not allow coupons for "free" items. They do allow printed coupons and said they would take competitor coupons on an individual basis. I think it also depends on the particular manager on duty because one told me expired q's were ok but another said no.

It depends on the PIg. The one in LExingtona takes most printed coupons. They are weary of Free item printed coupons.

Here in Sumter, SC they do not accept Internet printables at all. (well I have tried only 1 store) but I spoke with the MGR of the store & they actually had copies of the fradulent coupons that have been redeemed. What scared me was they actually looked Legit!!!!! He actually sd that None of the stores were to accept them so I just assumed it was a corp. policy. Just a FYI... Hey I am still excited ab the promotion being extended. Sounds good to me!!!!

Some do. Our store on Clemson rd in Columbia does. Just call the store ahead of time and ask a manager.

The store in Lancaster took my printed ones the entire month of February. I was told that as long as they scan, the store will honor them. I didn't have any that beeped so I was good to go!

I used printed Qs last month, no problem. Went to several different Pigs in the Summerville area. Guess it depends on the store/manager.
  • Jennifer
My friend went to one in Summerville and they told her no printed coupons.

I'm in Birmingham, AL and our Piggly Wigglys don't do the greenbax program, but I wanted to clarify that some stores do double coupons. My store doubles manufacturer coupons up to .99! :) I'd call your local store to find out what they do in your area.

Which Piggly Wiggly do you shop at? I just found the one in Bluff Park since it's next to my dentist but I live in Alabaster.
  • Lauren
I go to the one in Bluff Park. I've been meaning to check some of the others, but just don't go to those regularly.

  • Susie
Is Piggly Wiggly still running the free greenbax per coupon deal too? If so, will it run through the end of March?

I live very near a Piggly Wiggly. Have no idea what greenbacks are. HELP!!!
  • Greenbax are a program that only runs in Piggly Wiggly stores in SC and Eastern GA. All the others stores in other parts of the country run different promotions and campaigns so this might be why you have no idea what they are.

If you are in the area that runs Greenbax then go here to get a little more information:

Are there any good sites to explain how Piggly Wiggly works? I've never actually shopped there, and don't know how the greenbax work or their coupon rules.
  • mariek
I was new to using them too. Go by customer service when you go. They will get you a card and explain how it all works. Basically you earn GBX and when you go to check out you tell them if you want to redeem them or not. On a normal sale they have stuff you can get free with them. For this sale you want to save them up until the end of the month to get the $15 off in exchange for 10 GBX.
