The people who subscribe to the paper got the SS…the non subscribers did not….I am furious! I have already contacted them and they have no comment!

My insert (can't remember if it was SS or RP) also had a Mail-In Rebate for $12 off Sentinel flavor tabs (Heartworm/flea medication for dogs). Just a thought for those of you with pets!

I do the same thing and check for the inserts before I buy the paper if I get extras (one is delivered to my house). I am also a worrier, but sometimes it is a good thing! The only reason I buy it is for the coupons as well. Yes, it would be great to be able to buy just the coupons!

I wonder if the Post and Courier didn't put them in their paper this week. I bought 2 papers from CVS and they only have the red plum instert, and a Target insert.

ME, too! Went to Mr. K's and looked through 7 papers and NO SS!! Last week some guy from P&C was at the front for a Piggly Wiggly gift card giveaway and I got in a discussion with him about missing inserts……now, ya ready for this one?? He said that only home delivery gets all the inserts – HAHAHAHAH! I busted out laughing and said “who do you think your talking to?” NO…….it's the P&C circulation room, I called them a few weeks ago about missing inserts and they sent me 2 vouchers.

ME, too! I bought one Post & Courier at CVS and when I got home, it only had the RP in it. The SS is what I was REALLY looking forward too. I sent my DH to our neighborhood convenience store for another paper and wouldn't you know it, NO SS or RP!! I went right back within 10 minutes, told her what happened and she let me look through the papers. I looked through 6 PAPERS and none of them had any SS. UGH!

Regarding the comments about missing inserts, and the one little old woman who stole the inserts:
I try to always buy a double AJC that has the thick paper banding around it so that I know the inserts will be there IF they were going to be there in the first place. The AJC has gotten bad lately about not having all the inserts, or not having any at all. I have verified with others in my area that this has been happening to them as well on the same weeks that it happens to me.

Some weeks, there are no double papers. In that case, I get one that still has the big blue rubber band attached. I don't figure anyone who is going to steal the inserts will take the time to put the rubber band back on. If I get a rubber banded one, I do a quick check to make sure that the inserts are there, and I always check in front of a cashier so I can't be accused of doing what other people do.

I always look at the paper to see if the inserts are there too. I get one copy from home delivery, and last week it only had ONE insert, when I knew there were supposed to be two! I went out and bought a second paper to get the second insert. I never thought about contacting the paper… does that help?

I was accused of stealing because I actually looked to make sure the inserts were in there so make sure you ask the cashier if you can look and then look in front of her. That way, you don't walk out with a paper without coupons and it doesn't look “fishy” if you are in an aisle looking through them.

I always check too. I was leaving a Farm Fresh a few months ago, and a very elderly lady was on her way out of the store and stopped where the papers were ( by the door). She looked through it for a few seconds and found the inserts, took them out, put them in her cart of paid for groceries, put the paper back on the newsstand, and walked out! It made me angry, it WAS stealing, but I didn't say anything. It happened so fast and I kind of froze, looking back, I should have said something. She had to be at least 80 years old, but that is no excuse.

You must be looking at the variations on the coupons. Red means the coupon wasn't in that paper. Black means they were in as expected, and blue means it was a different value to the coupon than what was expected.

I have had the same problem…When I discovered my paper's coupons inserts were missing I stopped at a gas station to buy another paper but looked through the paper this time before buying and was really surprised to find that there were not any inserts in all the papers I checked. My sister had the same problem the next Sunday… Really confused about the AJC inserts.

I am sorry that you had no inserts. This has happened to me before, so now I buy them from an inside location, as opposed to a box, and make certain the inserts are there before I buy them. I do not know about your area, but in my area it is the carrier who is responsible for putting the inserts into the papers. Sometimes I think that some of them want some of the inserts for themselves. FYI: you could purchase the inserts from coupondede(dot)com. I typed it out this way because a link takes a while to appear.

Sad to say it, but I always make sure I check to see if the inserts are in the paper before I buy it. I guess I should be grateful they come free with the paper because in some states, the newspapers charge extra for the coupons.

Sorry you didn't get your inserts :( I always locate the inserts before I buy the papers. I guess my paranoia might not be bad after all. I look a little funny, I guess, but ce la vie. I wish I could just buy the inserts. The rest goes straight to the recycle bin.
