Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

This is the start for your Harris Teeter triples deals. I will continue to add to this list for the next few days and would love your help too! If you find any deals or see any items that will still be on sale in the store leave a comment.shoppinglist1

Remember:
They will triple coupons 99¢ or less, up to 20 coupons per day.

Because there are lots of regional variations with coupons and coupon values, your coupons maybe a different value than what is listed. I only listed the best coupon for all of these deals, but that doesn’t mean your slightly less coupon still isn’t a great deal.

I dont know if someone can help me, I dont quite understand how to use this sight. I am looking at the above items and I am seeing a lot I am interested in, but unless they have a printable coupon next to the item, how do I get the coupon for that item? The triple deals end today at HT so I want to take advantage
  • esynan
One more thing... sometimes certain areas just don't get every coupon listed. It can be frustrating, but if you go to look for one thats listed and you didn't get it, don't get discouraged, look for the next one on the list!
  • esynan
This response is coming too late to help you for these triples, but in general... heres an example...

-.75/1 OxiClean stick or spray SS 4/25 or printable
This coupon can be found in the SS (Smartsource insert) from April 25. So, SS = Smartsource, PG = Proctor & Gamble, and RP = Red Plum. So she uses the code to tell you which insert it was in and which date. I typically keep all of the inserts so that if something that I wouldn't normally buy will be free for triples, I can always go back and cut it out if I want to. Hope that helps!
  • Penny
Are there any freebies from the 5/2 coupons that we can use Monday and Tuesday only?
  • kim
I used the Betty Crocker Warm Delights--almost a freebie, Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls--also almost a freebie, Birds Eye frozen--free if you get the ones on sale, I don't have my receipt or I would check for more.
  • Penny
Thanks! I noticed the betty crocker one but not the veggies!
  • wormswife
Used my B1G1 Ziplock coupon and inside was a $.75 coupon for HN Cheerio's! If you bought some, open them before triples week is over!
  • LM
Jenny, I am so sorry that my post started this wild fire of posts. Certainly I am grateful to the ones who have come to my defense...thank you so much! Without your comments I would have just "curled up into a ball". Ha! Ha! But I can't understand why this has continued on. Let's all just focus on something else and let this squabble die out...for Jenny's sake. Once again I am truly sorry to you Jenny. Thanks everyone.

Some of the Betty Crocker Warm Delights have 75¢ coupons inside. Also I noticed on the bottom of HT receipt today that it has 3 deals.
One for a FREE loaf of Natures Own Pride Oven Classic's Bread.
    Dunkin Turbo Coffee for $3.99.
HT 12 pack double roll toilet paper for $3.99.
All offers good thru 5/4/10 & limit 1 per household.
    Just present your Vic card.
    Good luck!
  • Just wanted to share my HT trip from tonight:

Me and my mother-in-law went so I we had 2 VIC Cards but here are the total of the 2:

    $161.40 Total
    $1.85 Out of Pocket!!

We had $5 off $25 purchase (from Rite Aid 4/18 sales papers)
and we each had a $3 RR (from Walgreens)

I was shocked that they used both the $5 off and the $3 RR at the same time (and they did NOT even count as 1 of my 20 coupons)
  • Lambski1
Has anyone else run into where the price doesn't match the store and web?
  • Lena
Yes. . . everytime I make my list from the web it never matches up with on-line prices. Even when there are no triples or super doubles there's always a discrepancy.
  • Teena
hamburger helper is 10/$10 and .75 off three makes it .25
  • Kelly
I use coupons all the time that say do not double or triple...seems like the computer at bilo and HT doesnt know the difference... so dont be a jerk to Jenny :)
  • Megan10
With the $5 off $25 coupon from rite aid....will harris teeter accept that coupon first before all your other coupons?
  • Becky
They will not accept a competitor coupon it if it is printed from the internet. That's in their written coupon policy. If you clipped it from a Rite Aid ad, then it's at there discretion as to whether they consider Rite Aid to be one of their competitors. I have heard of some HTs accepting it, but mine would not.
  • Megan10
Does harris teeter carry skinny water or the hershey's bliss candy bar? Had trouble finding these items?
  • Melissa
I just got back from my HT in Apex about an hour ago. They were still well stocked on most of the products. Thanks so much for your help! They also double/triple coupons that say DND or DNT on them. This was the first time I haven't gotten totally exasperated with a HT being out of stock on the first day of triples!
  • Susan
@ Melissa -- they are wrong -- according to their policy, they will double/ triple up to 3 identical coupons. Any after that will be accepted at face value. However, I'm sure they have the right to limit it to some degree . . . like not letting you use 20 identical ones or something.
  • Lambski1
I shop at the HT in Concord NC at Popular Tent and G W Liles Parkway, I have never had a issue with them not doubling or tripling coupons as long as it under 20, went at 3:30 and they were already out of some items and the Prices for items didn't match, Franks Sweet Chili and Heinz Worcestershire were gone. McCormicks price didn't match the web neither did Mahatma Rice Mixes (is this normal). I saved 18.66 and spent 1.16 and bought a few items there were not free and the carry over saved me ALOT
  • Hesperides
Just got back from my HT trip...I never go there because the closest one is tiny and never stocked properly. I'm in Nashville and usually go to the one on 21st. I was there at 9am and about 40% of the things on my "free" list were gone. And there were other things they didn't even carry. I was so excited when I got there, but quickly was disappointed :( Spent $4.88, saved $18.74. Anyone else in the area have another location they think is better?
  • TN girl
There is 1 HT in Brentwood, great store..and another one, which is new in Franklin on Hwy 96...also a great store. Went yesterday and saved $59, spent $11...going back today!!
  • Rita
I live in Brentwood but am not crazy about the Brentwood HT. Very strict with coupons and not very friendly. Where is the new store on 96? Do they double coupons that say do not double? Is it a large store?
  • travelinamy
OMG...I frequest the Brentwood store and it is anything BUT friendly. I HATE walking through the doors, because everytime I go, the "rules" change. So frustrating, almost everytime i leave something at the checkout or end up returning it before i leave the store. I hate HT (by hate, i'm being nice) I went to the one on 21st and I was treated super nice and thought for a moment I was at Publix! I went back to HT tonight in Bwood for a few things and pulled out all my DND (jimmy dean and ball park) and then gave my friend a huge hassle on the green giant steamers. If it is B1G1, we now know you can only use 1 coupon(stupid, but I have accepted it and only by one of the b1g1 to use the one coupon) but NOW if it is B1G1, and the coupon says $1/2, you have to buy 3 items, not 2...becaus the "1" item is free, however, it rings at half price. All of my friends hate HT and the word of mouth is spreading SOOOO fast...I absolutely hate shopping there, and I only go in to get the deals. My total would have been about $10, but since I couldn't use 6 of my coupons, i ended up paying $3...guess they didn't want me to buy their items, huh? I'm going to Publix tomorrow to regain my sanity.
  • JL
I live in Nshville as well and had the same problem as you. I did ask a stock person about the land om lakes butter and he went and got some out of the back for me . There is a newer one in Bell Mede but I am not sure where. I have not been there but I was told it was bigger. Check out the web site. I don't like I do not like Harris Tetter normally but I spent $8.00 on about $50.00 worth of product. I was going to go Kroger to lunch meat I needed untill i heard about the tripples so it is like I spent the $8.00 i would have spent plus got a lot of extras so it was worth it.
  • susansaver
The store down West End across from Publix has a much better selection. But be warned as they are very picky about the coupons. They will go through your stack and will take out any that say Do Not Double and won't triple them. I stopped at the one of 21st this morning around 10am and had good luck with my items with the exception of a few things they didn't carry (Cliff Mojo Bar, Bliss Chocolate).
  • AD
Just got back from HT...very disappointing trip. Found most things didn't ring up as the posted price. I spent about $15 when I expected to spend $6.
  • Melissa
Do you mean they did not ring as the price that Jenny listed on here, or did not ring as the price posted at the store on the shelf? I always check the price on the shelf to what Jenny posts here, as she is in SC and I am in NC, so obviously there will be some differences. She advises that on here I believe b/c prices vary from store to store (even 2 stores in my area will have different prices from each other on some things tha are not on sale).
If however you meant rang different than he shelf or ad, you should have them correct it. Also, if you used coupons that say Do Not Double, I would ask at customer service if they will scan them or key them in. My Asheville store keys them in, so I know not to use them and expect them to double or triple. I just save them for Bi-Lo or whne the price is good enoug with just the face value of the coupon.
  • AD
They didn't ring as posted here. I knew they might be a little different (some items were $2.55 instead of $2.35) but some were very different like $4.49 instead of $2.99 or so. Still a great trip...can't complain about the savings I get using the site.
  • Melissa
AD - went for my 2nd trip at another HT that I went to Wed. Found the same to be true. Funny how stores within 15 miles of each other can be so different in prices! I had some coupons that expired today that b/c of the higher shelf price I ended up not wanting b/c it was not a good enough price for me. Played coupon fairy, maybe someone can use them. I did find a few things that she did not list b/c I had a higher value coupon from my paper. Bertolli pasta sauce with my coupon ended up being .64 a jar! Going back for more later in the week (too much ball going on this weekend with my kiddos to make a trip before Monday or Tues) Glad you saved as well as you did! I just was not sure what you meant, I have caught things ringing up different than the shelf, not often, and usually its b/csomeone put the item on the wrong slot. :o)

Has anyone tried to use the Save-a-Lot $5/25 coupon at HT? I am in Fayetteville, NC.
  • Nikki
I recieved a $5 off $25 for Save a lot at Harris Teeter and they took it with no problem. It was a coupon that I recieved in the mail. Dollar off coupons must be in printed form. They will not accept internet coupons for money off in my experience.
  • sheilafay
someone please help. I live right outside of Nashville in a small town of Ashland City, I always get the coupons for the free or $1 off Marcal small steps products but I can not find them and it is driving me nuts. I had 10 coupons at one time between family and friends giving me coupons, I have checked HT, Kroger (they have double packs of papertowels), Publix and Target, Does ANYONE living close by know where I can find them? My sanity is in your hands
  • krks
Shelilafay, I went to the Marcal website. They have a feature to find a particular item in your area. The only place close to me is the Kmart on Nolensville Rd in Nashville. Hope this helps! :)
  • travelinamy
I've had the same question and get so frustrated checking Kroger stores for the Single Rolls. Have you actually bought them at the Kmart on Nolensville Rd? I don't wanna go out of my way to get there if they don't have them...thanks!
  • kim
No, I did not drive there. It didn't justify my two free single roll coupons.
  • Melanie
I find them at Bi-Lo. Not sure if you have one around there
  • Becky
I've only ever found that brand at my Giant in Maryland. Sorry!
  • susansaver
There's a product finder on their website but when I searched for Nashville I was unable to find a store that carried the single rolls you can get for free. I just looked it up again and apparently Kroger is carrying the brand but again, I haven't seen the single rolls there. It might be worth a shot to stop by your Kroger and check though.
  • Hesperides
I have never found them - I'm in Nashville. We get coupons all the time in the paper, but have never seen them! I wonder if there's something about where to find them on their website?
  • that .75/1 V8 Fusion coupon- didn't that already expire? i believe it expired on the 4/25
  • Harris Teeter
I work at HT and it is really hard to deal with the triple coupons but I love them just as much as you guys do! So I thought it might help if I posted the coupon policy! It is easier if you give the coupons to the cashiers in advance so they can go through them and help you with them! Hope this helps!!

I have a question. Since they do not take free coupons from internet, I can't use b1g1 printed coupons ? Did you mean that free product is absolutely free without any buying?
  • Jennifer
I tried to use the Tropicana B1G1 free coupon I printed off their website a few weeks ago and HT wouldn't take it... So I used it at Food Lion and it was actually cheaper there anyway.
  • Melissa
OK, I have a question. My HT said they can only accept 3 "like" coupons for each transaction - ones that would and would not double. However according to the wording above, it seems that that should only apply to the coupons that would double a more than 3 like coupons would just be face value. In the section on basic coupon policy, this is not stated, only in the section of "doubling". Anyone want to share their "milage" on this policy?
  • tofrish
The harris teeter I went to will not double/triple the no yolks coupon. FYI! The coupons says not to.

I'm on vacation and have a HT here, and not in my home town. I was looking forward to all the triples! I'll still hit it, but was bummed about the no yolks. Nice to have in the pantry!
  • tofrish
I went to Harris Teeter yesterday - not realizing that the triples hadn't started - but they wouldn't even double the no yolks coupons. I asked if they would triple and they said no. It says not to double on the coupon. FYI!
  • tahsha
Does anyone know much about how they are with returns? There is no way I can get there in the morning like I normally would. I do however have to go tonight to take advantage of the General Mills instant savings deal (I have a rain check from a previous sale that makes for some free cereal!) I'm considering buying what I'm wanting to use coupons on tomorrow tonight (at regular price with no qs) and then tomorrow evening when I go in, just take everything back and get a full refund and then buy it all back with my coupons. We only have 1 HT in town, and I know that there will be NONE of the good deals left by the time I could get there tomorrow night. I'm sure that they'll frown on this since they won't let me even do 2 transactions with the same card back to back to split up b1g1s, but can they really refuse if I have my receipt?
  • I linked you to the bottom of my list. you have deals listed for coupons that I didn't receive. Thanks for the list!
  • brendak27
lowes in charlotte area are tripling coupons today .
  • couponmom88
Question for everyone? I live in NC and we got a $5 off $25 purchase from Rite Aid printed in the sales paper....can this be used at HT? I know they take coupons from Walgreens and Food Lion!!!
  • LM
I'm sorry that I came across as unappreciative and mean, I was just so frustrated. I know that Southern Savers works hard and I do appreciate that very much. I didn't mean for my comment to sound unthankful...I just wanted to give a heads up if it was something she could fix. I guess was just too short with my comment and didn't explain any of that. Anyway, thank you to the people who were understanding and took up for me! Hope this clears things up...Southern Savers is my favorite site and I come here daily!
  • KBBest
Keep your eye out for ink deals that Jenny posts here, too. She recently posted about a deal that 123inkjets.com was having, and when I purchased my ink through ebates at 123inkjets.com, I ended up getting 12 cartridges for $.16 each after all of my rebates.
  • LM
Wow!!! That is a great deal! I will be on the watch for a deal like that! thanks.
  • Rita
I don't think you came across as mean. I understand your dilemna as I dont want to print DND coupons either and there seem to be more and more of them lately.
Maybe one way to fix this would be to put the code DND5 by coupons that Jenny posts that say do not double and if the UPC begins with a 5. That way everyone would know and would print based on their local stores way of doing business.
Thanks for all you do Jenny
  • brvsfan13
with printable coupons (like the bagel thins), are you typically only allowed to use 1/transaction or can i print off 4 coupons and use them on 4 items?
  • Only allowed 2 same item printable coupons per day
  • guest
I have a 75 cent coupon for Poise pads. Don't remember where I got it.
  • Ana Maria S.
I really wish my Harris Teeter in Asheville would allow the Do not double or triple coupons like so many other stores seem to...I can't help but feel a little jealous of all you fellow southern savers that have a store like that in your area. Oh well, thanks Jenny for all the work that you do and for compiling this awesome shopping list; can't wait to go get some great deals tomorrow!
  • Cindyrella2
Maybe it'd be worth your trip to go to the Hendersonville one. They double or triple it as long as it scans and begins with a 5. If for some reason they have to key it in, they will not double or triple them if they say not to. Beautiful new store, too!
  • Ally
I went to the Hendersonville store yesterday and they would not allow me to use the Do not double and triple coupons for anything other than face value of the coupon. The cashier went through my stack of coupons and pulled them out. I had a very frustrating experience there yesterday over numerous items! The store is beautiful and very well stocked! I live between the Asheville and Hendersonville stores and go to both and I like the Hendersonville one better.
  • Kim
Thank YOU for all the time and energy you put into these match ups!!!
  • Melissa
Anyone do the Dannon Yogurt catalina deal? I had 18 of the required 20 points and shopped today - bought the 12 ct Danimals for $3.99 - pushed it over so then it was showing 1.99 towards next 20 points, but no electronic coupon printed? Manager is going to call in the AM for me b/c it was after 5PM, but wondered if anyone else has had trouble with it?
Anyway, got a notice on bottom of my reciept that I have a $5 off next $5 purchase or more - not sure what from, as the Dannon was supposed to be $3. Hmmmm, will be handy during triples I suppose. :o)
  • noa57
Does your HT give you points for bringing in your own bags? Our does, and every 100 bags you get the $5 off your next purchase of $5 or more. You get 1 point for every bag they use, not just how many you bring ;)
  • Kris
It doesn't print a coupon for those, they save them on your VIC card. Next time you use your VIC card on a purchase of $5 or more it will take off the $5 automatically. Hubby made me miscalculate 2 weeks ago to use our $20 off $50 Q because he didn't tell me something he ran out for pushed us over our 40 points of fresh foods. Had to send him running for a 2 liter soda that was on sale.
  • colleen
Is anyone having trouble printing the Shake & Bake? I click it, it says printing, and then says Thank You!... but no coupon! All of the others printed no problem. (except that I can't find the Nature's Own Q) anyways I really want the Shake & Bake!
  • Kristen
I didn't have any trouble printing mine, but the last time I had the same thing happened to me, I e-mailed the site, and the site said that "the coupon has met its printing limit". But keep trying because sometimes they will allow it to print more.
  • KJE
FYI: The silk soy milk coupon has expired.
  • ziggy34434
Seems there is a lot of worry about the coupons that say do not double. Who's doubling? They are tripling. They didn't say anything about tripling!

I didn't notice it on the list, but there was a $.75 off any Folgers product in one of the inserts on Sunday. Could make for some cheap coffee refill bricks.
  • Carrie_C
Ziggy34434 - I just love ya! You have made my day!! :)

Can you get HT to validate a coupon if they're out of something so that it will triple later? I heard that somewhere.
