The Mystery Penny Item at Publix for Wednesday 7/28 or Thursday 7/29, is:

Publix Spring Water, 6pk 500ml bottles

You can get the Publix Penny item with any purchase that is $10 or more before coupons. There is a Mystery Penny Item coupon in the Wednesday or Thursday Paper every week . Some stores do not require this coupon, but many have changed and do require it now, check with your store to find their policy.

The Penny Item is for one day only, and will be the day that the add starts in your area. This is Wednesday for all of SC and AL, and parts of GA, or Thursday for Northern GA.

    I got publix brand BBQ sauce. I am fine with this. Can't beat the penny deal. :)
  • I went this a.m. and got mine along with buying 120.00 dollars in groceries for a grand total of 44.13! Whoo hoo! I was glad the cashier reminded me of the penny item, b/c I almost went out without it. I LOVE ME SOME PUBLIX!

    Does anyone know where the coupon is located in the Tennesean? Do you have to buy a paper or can you get it fom rhier web site?

    this is such a bummer! The Publix on Hwy 6 in Columbia is now requiring the q for the penny item. And as it is only in Weds. paper, it is no longer a savings to buy the paper just for that coupon... :(

    The cashier just told me that today - bummer! One more disappointing thing in the hunt for good deals! I refuse to buy that paper for a coupon!

    you don't have to buy the paper. It's free on TheState(dot)com. Go to the site- go to subscribe up in the top left corner and select electronic version. You can get a free one-day pass to the electronic copy. Scroll over to page A4 and click on the ad and print. I do this every week.

    by the way, when cutting it out you may want to leave The State's heading along the top which shows the date etc. I've had some Publix cashiers tell me that "we don't accept copies of the penny q" so I show them this was simply an electronic edition from The State and they take it.

    Wow -thank you so much for the tip. I live in ATL, so I doubt this will work for me, but its worth a shot!! I will also try and google and see if there's a way to do this in GA.
