I started couponing last oct. and was hoping these slow ads we've been having were just a summer thing-I hope publix has not decided to offer less sale/ad items as a general rule! They were the main reason I was able to STOP shopping at Walmart.

fyi-the facebook q for bogo nabisco cookies wyb milk worked for me the last time the multi packs were on sale. i think you just have to pay a little extra to cover the cost over what the coupon value is ($4?).

I have some coupons for the Emerald Nuts Product that are $1 off (makes them free with the advantage buy). I know they came from the red plumb insert from the last couple of months. How do you keep track of which insert they came from? Also, the Barilla Plus Multigrain Pasta printable says I have reached my limit, but I haven't printed any. Did I miss something?

I think some ppl do not cut out their coups, but just stick the date on the front of the insert and refer to them as needed.

that’s exactly how I do it ~ and I’m sure many of us do ~

I use a 3 ring binder, and sheet protectors. The inserts go inside the sheets, front facing, with the date in big black sharpie. Multiple inserts will fit in one sheet.

Now I just need a bigger 3 ring binder :)

The publix in Huntsville, AL does not take competitor's coupons unless they are a supermarket (deli and all) so alot of these aren't good deals :(

In Athens as well…..my shopping days at Publix have REALLY SLOWED since they stopped taking drug store coupons as competitors. There are a few great deals that we pick up there but our shopping has majorly dropped there (as we can shop at the commissary). If Publix was out of my way, I may not even have a reason to shop there but they are about 1/2 mile from my house so I do pick up the mostly free or nearly free and sometimes the b1g1 deals. But when they did take the drug store coupons, it was GREAT.

Question, has anyone ever heard of this type of doubling before? I was shopping at Piggly Wiggly in Bluff Park on yesterday, The Pig doubles coupons up to 99¢ (big signs all over the store) that means 99¢+ 99¢ = $1.98 savings right! Wrong, I had a 75¢ coupon off 2 Ball Park Franks which were on sale for 99¢ a package. The store took off and additional 24¢ for the two. The manager explanation was if you have a coupon that you must purchase multiple products i.e. two packages it will only double up to the price for the first item that being 99¢ in this transaction. So then my question was if I had a coupon for 50¢ off three cereal boxes and they were on sale for 75¢ each, how much would the coupon double for? He said according to the manufacture your coupon can not double for more than the price of the first item, with the cereal that means I can only have 75¢ off not $1.00 off three boxes. This was a first for me.

There is a .50/1 coupon for the Keebler cookies at Dollar General, and it's a manufacturer coupon which scans just fine at Bi-Lo. Just pick up a few sheets of the DG at the front of one of their stores and then get some .44 packs of Keebler cookies at Publix!

My publix in Mt Pleasant had a Samuel Adams sponsored Q that was $1 off any Samuel Adams OR a steak!! They did not expire until the end of July. They were with the Aprons simple meals ingredients. Can't wait to stock up on some nice steaks!

On a bad note though, my publix told me they are no longer accepting video rewards coupons from Rite Aid. The cashier stopped me and I asked for a manager who told me this. There are 2 other publix's within reasonable driving distance from me so I will try those :)

It may be a trend….my Publix will no longer take any drug store coupons of any kind as competitor. They take Target and competing grocery stores in the area. It is amazing allthe changes that have taken place in our store since it opened a little over a year ago. Still great deals on some stuff though…

Did you get free cases of simliac, or any other kind of formula through your pediatrician when the babies were born? The rep will send them directly to your house. Also if you look up the phone numbers to the companies that sell the generics, like parents choice for walmart, they will send you a $5 coupon each month, for each child, (which makes inexpensive formula even more reasonable). The company that makes the Parents choice seems to make a lot of the other stores brands too, you just have to ask which stores they make formula for in your area, they just don't flat out tell you. Also, are you a member of your local twins group? if so, mine had a swap table each month, and other people would post on the board when they were giving them away. i was just supplementing with twins, and this is what saved me! Also sometimes the formula is in the clearance section at PUBLIX, I would use all those combined methods to buy it.

I just wnated to share that I think the costco kirkland formula very well may actually be similac, in a costco can of course. they are the EXACT same texture and color. if you compare the appearance of enfamil to similac, you notice a big difference. just a theory, but the costco stuff is like $20 for 2 BIG cans. I can't imagine with FDA regulations that they go to the trouble of making their own formula. When I used to work at Bilo in highschool the deli donuts were krispy kremes brought in everyday and the bilo sugar was really dixie crystal. just thought you might be interested. :)

i actually buy the costco brand formula and it says on the package “comparable to enfamil” for the yellow can and “comparable to enfamil gentle-ease” for the purple can. my daughter is very picky and would not drink the simlac, but she drinks this just fine! good luck!

I haven't had a problem using Huggies Diaper coupons for pullups, as long as it doesn't say a specific type of diaper on the coupon. So, if it says Huggies cruisers, they might not take it, but if it says “any diapers” or just plain diapers, they will take it. Yay!

If your store accepts Dollar General as a competitor, they have a summer saving booklet with a $0.75/1 Breyers Ice Cream carton coupon.
This would make the ice cream $2.75 for both.

Mine had some that were included, but I had to look for it. The one I got that was included is no sugar added 100% Juice Cranberry and Blueberry. There were some other types of OS Blueberry on the shelf just below (that were $3.79 rather than $3.99) that weren't included. Could be that your store was out of that particualar variety? I didn't find what I needed on the end cap with the other BOGO juice, I had to look on the regular aisle. Might not hurt to ask about it if you're back there.

About the new Kraft Sandwich Shop Mayo- it is free, but every bottle at my Publix (Lexington) expired the first week of August. Didn't realize it until I got home with three different kinds. No way we will eat all three before they run out. This is one you might want to go ahead and use, rather than just adding to your stockpile.

I live in South Florida and at the Publix where I shop (and others in the area) does not require that you purchase 2 items to use the $ off 2 coupons. What I will say is that they do not accept Target coupons. I have emailed Publix several times about it and they don't recognize Target as a competitor and therefore will not accept their coupons. In my opinion that's a mistake, but I think unless there is an overwhelming response to it they will not change their policy.

I live in SW Florida and they do take Target,and from my conversations with corporate it is entirely up to your individual store who is a competitor.

I've never heard of any store allowing you to use a $x/2 coupon on just one item because that would be against the manufacturer's policy and therefore would risk the store not allowing them to receive the money back (unless it's a Publix coupon than that's a different story). Out of curiosity, did someone specifically say it or are you going off the fact that the computer let's you?

It might have to do if your Target is a Superstore or a regular store. I am from Mobile and we have one of both kinds of Targets. In the Auburn/Opelika area we just have the one Target that is a regular one.

Maybe if we had a Super Target, they might… As for $/2, just because the computer/register allows it, does not mean that you should be using it that way. Publix' system is not as detailed as others and it is often up to you to be coupon correct.

Since when did Publix stop taking expired coupons? I make it a point to try and never use expired coupons (have only done so once before) but this one only expired yesterday. The cashier was very nice about it when I asked him about their policy but then the lady behind me in line starting yapping her mouth at me “why would they take an expired coupon, that's like trying to pay with an expired credit card, blah, blah, blah…” Um, not quite the same concept but thanks for trying. I told her to my knowledge they used to take them if it was only within a day or so and she just glared at me. Wow…what happened to people minding their own business? It was the very last coupon he came to (and I didn't have that many anyway) and I didn't even ask him to take off the item that the coupon was for so it isn't like I was holding her up. I found her input incredibly out of line and harsh….couponing isn't just a hobby for me, it's a necessity during hard financial times for my family and I try so hard to be polite and follow the rules (which is hard when they are so inconsistent, but that's another topic). So I will never again try to use an expired coupon, even if it's just by a day! I still love Publix though.

My Publix still does, during the week the coupon expires (they send all their coupons in to the manu's on Saturdays) and Publix coupons up to a month later. I always stop by customer service if I'm planning to use expired coupons that day, so if a cashier questions it (and they have), I can say “I just talked to ________ and they said you guys still take them.” As for people behind me, they can get over it! I've done my fair share of patient waiting on the elderly, infirm, and just plain slow people long enough to merit someone having to wait on me once in a while. We are not breaking rules, trying to sneak something in, or trying to get something for nothing. We are doing hard work to save as much as we can for our families, and everyone else can just wait, or bite me! ;)

I am a cashier at Publix and that is one steadfast rule the company has about not accepting expired coupons. Silent E you are only part right about the coupon sending days. We do not send the Publix coupons in to anyone. They stay in house and as far as the manufacturer coupons they are tallied up by each day and dated. They all have to be within the date they were received. They are sent to corporate on Saturdays but are dated each day appropriately.

Ash … my Publix DOES take expired Qs. They take them if they expire in the Sunday to Saturday cycle. They also take them if they did not have the product when you needed to buy it. They will usually give you a raincheck to “protect” the Q although if you don't have the raincheck, all you have to do is swing by the service desk and get the Q OK'd. I think there is an article somewhere on this sight about Qs and how they are processed etc. It's rather interesting and once you read it, you understand that the expiration date is really not that important to the store (considering the time it takes to send to corporate, then to the processing center and then to the actual company – this process can be over 6 months). Keep using the expired Qs as long as you are within that store's policies and if whoever is behind you is bothered by it, smile and hand over the .50 total for your shopping bill!!! That will definitely get their goat!!

My Publix (Hoover, Alabama) had Lloyd's BBQ in the cold case right by the front door marked BOGO (I couldn't find it in the ad – maybe I just overlooked it, or perhaps they overstocked and wanted to get rid of it) Anyway – I picked up two because I had two .75 coupons. When it rang up – it didn't ring up BOGO but at the regular price of $5.49. The cashier checked the price and got the manager to come and fix it. He rang it up as $2.50, took one of the .75 coupons, gave me the other one back and didn't charge me for the second package – I guess because it was a register error. SO – two Lloyd's BBQ's for $1.75 – and I still have one of my .75 coupons to go back and get another. That made my slow publix week a little better. I think the Lloyd's coupons were in the 6/27 inserts – but I can't remember which one.

My Publix (in AL) will not accept Target Qs unless they have “SuperTarget” on them. I am assuming that since the SuperTargets have a full grocery store, that is what makes Publix consider them a competitor.

I have found that most will take it if it is a SUPER Target q, since they have grocery. But, NOT regular Target. Fortunately, most Target's are becoming SUPER. Now, let's just hope that they start making the Target logos Super Target logos on their q's and were good!!!

If you look at where Jenny has posted the coupon she will tell you where the coupon is located. In the case of the Brawny she said – -.50/1 Brawny Paper Towels, 2 roll +, RP 6/27. This means that in most papers there was a coupon for .50 off a two roll pack in the June 27th paper. It was located in the Red Plum (RP) section. Chi-Chi's was in the May 23rd paper in the Smart Source section. Hope this helps. Jenny also has some great tutorials that help explain things.

First of all, I LOVE my Publix on Trolley Road in Summerville. Last night, though, I tried to get a rain check for Listerine because the shelf was empty. The cust. service person (manager?) insisted we walk over to the aisle and look for it, then we went back over to cust. service to try out the misc. bottles to see if any would ring up with the sale price. She finally found some that did, so I bought them. I intended to buy 2, use a Publix $1/2 coupon and 2 mfg. $1 off each coupons. She would only let me use the Publix coupon and 1 mfg. coupon. Why would that be if I bought 2?

I try to avoid that Publix because they act like the coupon police! I think other people have tried to scam them or something. They usually have everything I am looking for, but going through the check out line takes forever and I always feel terrible for the people in line behind me! Luckily I havent had to go through what you just did!

Sometimes they are like that, but lately they have been cool. I've had them substitute products instead of the rain check-and still take the coupons. And they let you split your order up so that you can use multiple $5/$25 Rite Aid coupons. I guess it just depends on the day!

again @ Dorchester Publix you can. You can have 2 manuf. coupons, and a competito. coupon or 2 man and a store coup. and still get more savings than the product is worth. Its like they owe you money but you get it as a credit off the rest of your groceries

I was told that the Oakbrook Publix won't let you always use double manu. coupons. HOWEVER, the Publix at the corner of Dorchester and Ashley Phospate will! Happy Saving! :)

Oakbrook will double Q's .50 or lower as long as it does not say do not double on it. I have had some cashiers at that store forget to hit the suppress key so I got the double. It just depends on the cashier. I have noticed that they are reviewing Q's alot closer there. I talked to one of the mngrs and it's becuz of some of the fraudulant Q's trying to be used. He also said that some people have been trying to use expired Q's. I just take it in stride and chat w/ the cashiers and baggers. They are so nice.

That's my fav Publix also. I would talk to the manager about that. She should've let u use 2 manu Q's since u were purchasing 2 products. A few weeks ago as I was checking out, one of the asst mngrs was bagging my groceries and the cashier asked him a ? about the Rite Aid coupons bcuz at the top they say manu Q but really aren't. He explained that if the # under the bar code did not have a 5 or 9 then to treat it like a comp Q. I was sooooooooo impressed and told him so. I go to him from now on w/ any questions.

Call the formula company and register on their web page. They'll be happy to send you copuons for formula and samples as well. When I had to supplement, I ended up not ever having to pay full price for formula.

I have been using Similac Sensitive RS for 5 1/2 months now and have found that the $19.99 is about as good of a sale as you're going to find. The cheapest regular price I've found it for is Wal-Mart for $23.78. Most stores have it for $23.99. I'm pretty sure the regular Similac is about the same price as the special one I have to use. I hope you have better luck getting coupons/samples from Similac than I have. I registered with their site and have only gotten 2 $5 check/coupons and NO samples!!!

Hi JEB, not trying to get all up in your business, but just in case, I wanted to mention checking with a lactation consultant before you supplement. Obviously it's cheaper if you don't have to. ;) I thought I was going to have to supplement also, but my insurance covered a visit to a lactation consultant since our pediatrician wrote an order for it and I got lots of great info and support there. There's also alot of good info on La Leche League's website and kellymom.com. I know whatever you decide it is the best decision for you AND your baby. Congratulations momma! – Keren

My plan is to switch to Walmart brand if he is ok on regular similac. Since he is taking in more now, he is spitting more… I have met with lactation people, and talked to pediatrician. We are guessing he is only getting about 10-12 ounces from me in day, and had only gained a few ounces since birth, when I first met with LC nurses a month ago. I have pumped, used supplemental syringe tube feeder they gave me, , started taking fenugreek herb to increase milk, etc….plus I have a 4 year old to take care of….my whole day was feeding, pumping, washing parts, time to feed again cycle…exhausting. So I am happy he is getting some benefit of breastmilk, plus extra nutrients of formula. I want to do what is best for him, and if that means switching to all formula if he is not gaining enough, I will.

I used the Target brand with my son and he did just fine with it. Target periodically gives out coupons for their brand (in home mailers) and I have also seen peelies for them on different items in the store. I've never bought Walmart brand formula so I have no idea how the price compares, but it was nice using the Target coupons for the Target formula.

This may not help, but just some advice I'd like to offer. When I started formula after going back to work (with my first child), I refused to use anything, but name brand formula. Then, with baby #2, I bought Similac for a couple months and then just discussed buying generic with her pediatrician and did a LOT of online research. There is absolutely no difference in the generic and Walmart's equivalent is almost HALF the price of Similac. By no means am I trying to be intrusive, but it's definatley something to think about. I now have 4 children and they are all healthy as can be and rarely ever sick. I owe most of that to breastfeeding in the beginning, but on generic formula, they maintained their health without an issue. Good luck :o)

All 3 of my cuties were raised solely on the Walmart brand of formula, and they actually spit up LESS on it than they did with the take-home samples of name-brand formulas the hospital sent home with me… They are 3,6, & 7 now and doing awesome, and I saved a heck of a lot of money! :-)

The ones listed in red are all the manufacturer coupons available. You use what you have, but you can't use them all on one item. One coupon per item. HTH

I went to a Publix by my work today and they actually had the Kraft Sandwich Mayo in stock. The sign said $1.99 each but they were rining up at $1.00 each. I bought 6 jars and it costs 10 cents. I told the cashier that they were ringing up differently and she said dont worry about it. Now if I could just find the trail mix that has been on sale.

I asked yesterday, but I can not find my post, for the penney item my store requires a coupon. I checked the sales paper and it was not in there. Anyone know where the penny item coupon is?

You know if Publix items ring up incorrectly they usually give them to you for free. Now in my case the price came up over the price on the sign, but I guess you still got a deal. Just something to look into or keep in mind.

The Publix Promise states that if an item rings up “more” than the advertised price you will receive one of that item free and the rest will be adjusted to the correct price. The joys of being a CSS for four years lol.

I work for Publix…and the only way we issue a Publix Promise (giving you the item for free) is if that item rings HIGHER than the price marked or advertised. If it rings under then you get it for that price.

Jana I found the coupons at a local Walmart. They were just stuck on the end of one of the freezers that are in the meat section. It wasn't even with a display of bread. I also found one at my local Publix in the produce section.

The nature's own bread that was on bogo at my publix was not the specialty bread that matched the coupon. So I didn't use the coupons. I see on the Friday Finals that several people did. Just curious what the rule is on that? I felt like it wouldn't be right to use the coupon for a completely different product that has a different normal price, even if the cashier takes it. Does anyone agree? I want to be ethical about using coupons.

You are right. I have found that quite often coupons are listed here for items the coupon was not intened for.. You have to be careful. Publix registers dont beep for coupons that are being used that dont match up to products, so some people take advantage of this and use them anyway. I am with you though in that it is wrong and it shouldnt be done. Just because a coupon is listed under an item on this site doesnt always mean it was meant to be used with that product. I have seen several comment on this, and still am unsure why these coupons are listed or why it is not removed once it is determined it wasn't intended ot be used for that product.

It's still dishonest and a big reason why cashiers have an attitude towards couponers. Just because the store gets paid (and you didn't get caught) doesn't make it right- in fact, it's fraudulent.

MONEY MAKER…Went to Publix and found Kellogg's Cinnabon Cereal on sale for $1.99! Here's the good part! The box had a big yellow banner that reads “Try Free after Mail in Rebate” I bought it and used a $1.00 coupon so I will end up making money on this deal even after the postage. Good deal huh??? :-)

The Palm Beach Post is the best newspaper to get. (I used to get that paper when I lived in that area.) As far as shopping, I can't help you there! There are no Kroger's, so probably Publix, Walgreens, & CVS are going to be your best bet.

Food Lion has a $2 off Capri Sun (FLIP) the can be used. Makes them 69 cents a box near me. Also, look for bags of Eight O' Clock coffee with coupons. Mine had a label that said the coupon was inside for $1/2.

They have Gatorade 10 for $10. On the display at the front of our store, they had coupons buy 10 get 5 free. The coupons do not expire until late August.

Also, they did not have a sign out for the Natures Own BOGO. I checked our local ad and took it to the register. Of course it rang up BOGO, but be sure to pay attention and to ask if the store is wrong.

I had been told on several different occasions that Publix coupons do not expire, but the cashier refused to take 2 of my Publix coupons that expired in May and June. She reported they had to expire at some point!

When you print some of the Harvey's Q's, it automatically prints a $2 off $6 produce Q. Makes a big difference since produce is so randomly dicounted and I buy a LOT of fresh produce.

P.S. if you shop at Winn Dixie occasionally, don't forget that you can use their $5 off $30 and $10 off $50 at Publix. You dont have to shop w/ WD that often for them to print (Catalina) at checkout. I'll make a point to find a couple good deals there, just to get the extra Q's so I can use them at Publix!

Question about the “Smart Savings” coupon book from Publix. Some coupons say they are manufacturer and some say store coupon and some say neither! But they all say “redeem at Publix”. Are the ones that say manufacturer true manufacturer or can I stack them with another? This booklet is very confusing with all the different ones! I know Rite Aid VV coupons say “Manufacturer” but are considered store, and Target prints coupons that say manufacturer that other stores will take, so I'm trying to figure out what is what here. Any help or experience using this booklet is appreciated.

if it has an L.U. code at the bottom it is a publix coupon, if it has a barcode it is a manuf. coupon. you can stack manf. with the l.u. coded ones. hope this helps!

oh i forgot to mention that if it says “redeem at publix” and has a bar code and says manuf. coupon you can use it anywhere, just like if you have a manuf. coupon that says target, cvs, etc. you can use those anywhere because they are maufacturer so they are good anywhere.
