Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations

One of the biggest concerns I hear is the amount of money that goes towards ink and paper for printing coupons.  That is usually always followed by “what printer would you recommend”.   There are lots of printers out there but my biggest recommendation would be to go with a laser printer.  They use a lot less ink and the coupons will never have trouble scanning since the print quality is a much higher resolution.

Dell released a brand new color laser printer 2 days ago and sent us one to use.  My husband was excited not only for a new gadget but also to get to be one of first people to try it out!  We’ve got a black & white laser printer and love it, but had long given up on color printers because of the cost.

The first thing I had to test, was can I set it to make coupons print in black & white.  (Many of you already know that coupons.com and other sites will over ride print settings for most printers and force you to print in color).  I set it up, set the print settings to black and went to coupons.com…  out printed beautiful black & white coupons!!!  This means that I get my cost savings black & white coupons but I can still print color pictures and other fun things.  Honestly I haven’t had a color printer in so long that the few pictures I’ve already printed look out of place and foreign to me.  It’s going to take a bit to get to used to again.

A few fun details on this printer:

The Dell 1250c Color printer is the smallest A4/Letter Color laser class printer in the world and highly energy efficient.  Small is awesome when you think about putting this in your home.  The 1250c will retail around $230, which in the color laser market is incredibly cheap!
