The Gorton's fish is a good deal if your family only does Heinz Ketchup. My stores have the K priced at $2.50 for a 32 oz bottle. If you have a Q for the fish, it's worth it.

My stores in the Hill Country area are not doing the ribs or crawfish unless they are unadvertised specials.

I'm sorry, but this is exactly why I avoid HEB at all costs. Their “sales” never end up saving me much money at all, and to make matters worse, they are the only grocery store chain in the entire city. Thank goodness for the Commissary!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Costco and Sams save me more often than not, dairy is always less expensive from the warehouse stores even using coupons. I can only get to the commissary if my Dad or SIL take me.

Since I'm in the Hill country area, I shop the ads for San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels and Bulverde. It amazes me with the difference in prices, i.e the corn this week. I noticed this a couple of years ago. I took my ad and compared it to my father's ad. He lives across from Lackland AFB. The Vally Hi store was more expensive than the Marbach store.

They're working it like Walmart. Communities with lower income and less opportunity to shop around pay more, especially in the dairy department.

I'm not a big fan of their in store coupons, because the deal can rarely be stacked. Need to look for that M on the yellow in store q's.

The best store for deals in my area is Boerne Stage across from the Dominion. They actually expect tons of coupons, kind of give you a weird look if you don't have any. Also if I hit it right, I can buy prime beef cuts for less than the choice cuts actually on sale. They're always on the top shelf in the packaged area of the meat dept.

Another thing I've discovered is looking up the ad for Cypress, TX. Meat/seafood deals usually hit my area a week to 2 weeks later, so I can plan ahead.

Sorry so long, but I hope I've been able to help someone with HEB.

PS, an example of Sam's compared to HEB. Today I bought 3lb of Hormel sliced pepperoni for $8.18 at Sam's. Package states enough for 24 – 16 inch pizzas. 3 weeks ago I bought HEB/Hill Country brand of pepperoni for $2.88 and came home with a package that would do 2 pizzas. The Hormel same size was over $4. 20lbs of unbleached all purpose flour was $5.98, it came package in 2 10lb bags so you can share with a friend or wrap it tight and put it in the big freezer if you have one. Instant yeast, 2 -1/2 lb pkgs $4.68. No way could I get that done at HEB, even with buy, get free and stacking Q's.

Since the Heinz isn't HEB store brand you can use a Q on that too, at least my store took it.

And my ad has the corn 4/$1, so 25 cents each instead of 20.

HEB has the Tyson Grilled Fajita on sale for 2/$4. You can use either the $.55 or $1.00 off coupons on them. They are taking either one for these.

I was at HEB Plus in corpus Christi, Tx and I found KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce on sale for a dollar! Free with the $1 off Q from the paper a couple weeks ago. Also there was a yellow coupon for $1 marked B instead of M so you can stack with the $1.50 off manufacturer's Q for all Cutter products. This made their insect repellant about $1.50.
