    Hello everyone, well how do I start?? I went to the local grocery store to pick up a few things and while I was there ran into the local newspaper distribution manager. I live in a small town. I asked him what happend to the coupons in last Sunday's paper? Well I got an ear full and now I am a bit angry. Where I work my boss gets the Sunday paper and is good enough to let me have the coupons, like I said we didn't have any last Sunday. He proceeded to tell me that he had just come back from Raleigh for a meeting about the inserts in the paper. It seems that some NOT ALL extreme couponers are going around stealing the inserts from the local convenience stores and the paper boxes !!!! People I have to use coupons, not to hoard on crap I don't even use but the things I really need, so thank you so much coupon thief's everywhere for making life harder for the rest of us. I hope you know that when you do this you are stealing from my child and me !!!! and it really makes me angry!!! So the distribution manager said that some things are going to change and not for the best,  so once again thank you. I work really hard  to be able to by what I can and I do depend on coupons,  thank you so  dang-gon  much !!!      >:(

      that is not cool! They're gonna make it to where coupons will not be inserted in the paper if they continue to STEAL!

        IT is very frustrating indeed. I hope the newspapers think twice about not including coupon inserts. Their circulation is already down. If they pursue this route, they will cut their business even more. Not a very smart business move!

      I'm not sure if you are accusing the people that use this site, but I think most (not all) of us are ethical couponers.  We are just as frustrated as you at the people that steal inserts, papers, etc.  But, please remember that these are the actions of a few, not the majority.

      I'm concerned about your comment. I too live in small town just outside of Raleigh. Can you please explain what you mean by things are going to change with the inserts. I don't steal them but like you I have to use coupons to make ends meet.

        If the stealing of the coupons continues the  paper may be forced to stop the coupon inserts. It is really bad when they steal the inserts out of the Sunday paper when it is laying in front of our place of employment before we even get there! No it isn't a smart business move but what else can they do if this continues? People pay for the paper, for the whole paper and when the coupons aren't in there it is very frustrating.Like I said my boss kindly gives them to me, he knows I use  them and that I can't even  afford a subscription.

          Sounds like the newspaper in charleston.  Several months back they started charging for the weekly tv insert that comes out on friday.  When calling to complain they say that is not part of the paper….?????  Where else does it come from?  The paper seems to think they can do anything they want.  Go ahead and do it….they will be the next ones out of business.
          For your local town see if you boss can get them to leave a paper machine at the business outside.  The old kind that you put the quarters in.  The CVS down the street has one with a padlock on it and that is how they get the papers to sell in the store everyday.  Best of luck.

            That is insane!  In some way, someone needs to get a copy and then post it on the internet. Don't these newspapers realize they are cutting their own throats by being more restrictive on their products. Instead of  charging the customers extra, they should be looking internally to how they can operate more productively. Personally, I see in my own business that some employees (not everyone mind you) are just plain lazy and feel like if they just show up, they are entitled to a check. I see it everywhere.  So much wasted time and personal stuff going on while on the clock

      I'm finding this hard to believe are we talking about the N&O? Really!?!  There are so many of us who depend on the coupon inserts to help us “make ends meet.”  While I am aware of coupon clipping services, I don't always need a $5.00 order of coupons. Are they considering selling them separately from the newspaper? What other options are they going to provide us?

      My sister and I watched a woman steal the inserts, we live in Landrum, sc..and she was messy about it. My sister actually said to her “Hey your stealing the inserts!” She just gave her a nasty look. While she buys 6 papers and I buy 4 every week, we have to really check them for the inserts. Its maddening, frustrating, and it is blatant outright stealing. I personally would love it if they would have a special machine just for inserts, I'd buy them, as I really don't need 4 Sunday papers, we do take our 10 papers to the veterinary clinic, they are happy to have them!

        Next time you see that woman doing that call the cops!  And be sure to let the store know who it is ASAP so they keep her out of the store.  These people are just CRAZY!
