I tried to buy two of the Bounty paper towels on sale (with the free napkins), use two $1 off napkin coupons and two $.25 paper towel coupons. The system only lets you use one of each, just an FYI. It also wouldnt let me use the get the $5 Target Gift Card coupon even though I bought 2 paper towels on the list. I even went to customer service on this one.

For the Huggies Little Swimmers, it says to price match Rite Aid's ad….Do all Targets price match? I didn't see anything saying they did or didn't on their coupon policy, but wanted to see if anyone has had problems with that before I try. THanks for your help!

I price matched a movie there a few months ago without any problems. You can always call your store to double check, but they should.

When I price matched with the movies (It was Cars and The Incredibles) I used the coupons from the Disney websites without any problems. I'm sure it varies by store, but it wouldn't make sense for them not to accept manufactures coupons since they get reimbursed for that. Who knows.

My Target in Mooresville, NC will NOT match an ad that requires a loyalty card….therefore, they will not match the Rite Aid deal because you have to use your wellness+ card.

I have also been told they cannot price match a Kroger ad because of the loyatly card. Target hasvery poor service in Acworth Ga. Even Walmart seems better than Target. All questions and answers vary depending on which associate or manager you get. Unless a VERY cheap price I avoid Target.

Target customer service in Smyrna, GA is HORRIBLE!

Two weeks ago I bought 4 packs of the big Bounty rolls (8pk) and used coupons available at the time. This week they have them on sale for $2.50 cheaper plus you get a free pack of Bounty napkins. I took my receipt back to the store expecting to at least get a price adjustment. Much to my surprise I was told they couldn't do it in no uncertain terms (not at all pleasant about it). So, believing that was horrible customer service and I know other retailers make price adjustments if within 30 days (not to mention I could return them without a problem and just use more Qs and buy them again and get the free item), I called Target Corporate and spoke with someone there.

After discussing it with them and explaining, not to mention being on hold several times, Target Corporate Customer Service told me it would not be a problem, gave me a reference number, and told me to go back to the store. I asked twice to confirm that when I got there I would get the adjustment and free item and she told me they would take care of it and to just go back to the store. So I hopped in my truck and headed back to the store in Smyrna, GA. Much to my anger I get a manager who doesn't even speak English very well and we call Corporate back to confirm and they tell me and the manager I was given wrong information – no apology, no explanation, no nothing.

Tomorrow I will be selling the shares I hold in Target and will not ever be shopping there again unless the deal is just amazing – there are plenty of other places to buy TP and PT and the items Target sells. Their customer service is non-existent and has done nothing but go downhill. I mean, if I call Corporate and they tell me something and send me back to the store but then say I was given wrong info shouldn't they have at least apologized for the mistake not to mention done something to show their sincerity?

In certain circumstances I just buy the item at new price and turn around and walk in with the item and return with old receipt. I have had to do that at Target.

After my post I called Target Corporate again (not one to settle for the status-quo). I explained to a supervisor what had happened and basically got a well so sorry for you that we told you the wrong info. Well when I really lost my temper (which some have seen me do on here because my tolerance for BS is quite low – something I need to work on) and what I had done so far (posted here – no names mentioned as to site – posted to FB and Twitter, emailed, etc., plus scheduled a sale of all shares of Target I currently hold) he suddenly started backpedaling so fast I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. He told me he would notate everything in my case and ASKED me to please call tomorrow during regular business hours and speak to a Senior Specialist and they would do something to resolve the issue.

So here's the response I got:

I spoke with a Senior Specialist apparently and what I was told was that they have this policy in place for business reasons (concerning adjustments). However the return policy is exactly correct – if the item is new and unused you could return it and then re-purchase at the lower price. The guy I got this time was definitely nicer and was obviously US-based because he spoke clearly, loudly, and with perfect English. It was at least a pleasant call but with no satisfactory resolution.

SO, with that said I may go ahead and take PMs suggestion above and go out to a store that should have the item in question and then as I come back to the house stop in to the store where originally purchased and return them with the original receipt that this all started over. Thankfully I have plenty of Qs to use including that $5 gift card wyb 2 Bounty PT packs 8roll+ Target Q so it will be an awesome deal (4 packs of 8 giant roll PT at $7.37/ea pack after Qs but including tax – plus I'll get 4 packs of 50ct napkins). A total difference of $17.88 not including the free napkins ($31.04 value if napkins included).

I think that one was a facebook promotion they did back in January. All the coupons are expiring from that one at the end of the month, so they might be doing another one soon. Just “like” them on facebook and keep an eye on their posts.

They also do coupon booklets with their rebates, so be on the look out for special rebates from them as well.

Target has terrible customer service and inconsistent policies. I usually don't shop there unless I can get it at a really good price and never plan on returning it.

I had a great Target outing today…mostly because of stacking coupons. Stacked Target with manuf. Qs for the Hershey's bars…did the same for Special K bars (came out to $1 per box!). Then many of the Pepperidge Farm crackers and pretzel thins were on sale for $2…and I had a $1 off coupon. Coke products were $2.50 a 12 pack, which seems to be about the cheapest price going. And I got the 10 Sobe waters for $10 with the $5 gift card ($.50 each). Then, I used $1 off Newton Fruit Thins Target Q (our new fav cookie) plus a manuf. Q for $1 off 2 boxes…brought those down to $2.25 a box (HT carries them for over $4 a box).

Oh…and when you bought 4 Special K products you got a coupon for $5 off any swim apparel…daughter used if for board shorts.

Don't always do this well at Target…I think the key is a really good sale and stacking.

went to customer service and ask if they could deduct my $3/2 Store cpn john frieda since i forgot to include it last time i came and at that time the cashier has rang up one of my $5Man for only $2.97( didnt notice it not until i was home)…. customer service told me they couldnt honor my request since it has been 3weeks already…..told them my car broke and its the only time i can come….was upsetting… anyone who know the policy regarding this? what's the Corporate number?

why don't you just return the item and then rebuy it with your coupon.

That isn't the point. If you can return the item within 90 days, if defective or changed mind – whatever, then what's the difference? That's the part that doesn't make any sense – you can return the item but they can't do an adjustment.

Then what would stop people from using coupons that just came out this week on an item that they bought almost three months ago?!

I think 3 weeks is plenty fair to be able to bring in coupons to use on past purchases. I'm surprised they even let it go that long. Use the coupons when you're there buying the item. If you don't have the coupons or forgot them, then thats you're fault not the stores. Don't buy the item and come back for it some other time.

It's not even 3 weeks – it 10 DAYS for adjustments (the current ad and the next ad but no more beyond that – they say that's typically 10 days but could be as short as 7). And on manuf Qs what does it matter 3 days or 3 weeks? They are reimbursed for the Q anyways – a store Q I can understand since that comes specifically out of their pocket (although I guess it comes out of our pockets one way or another in the end).

If you go in for an item and find you forgot your Qs but there are only 2 of that item left on the shelf are you really going to leave them there and go home? I don't think I would – I would buy what I was after and come back with my Qs later (although I tend to do that in the same week if I just forgot since I know I'll be back anyways).

Yes, I would just leave an item if I forgot the coupon for it. That is depending on what coupon it was. If it was a 35 cent paper towel coupon, I'd probably still buy the item and not worry about the coupon. Its only 35 cents. If it was a coupon for getting the item for free or close to free, I would just come back for the item once I had found my coupon. Its not that big of a deal, its Target. They restock every night.

And as far as the 10 day thing, I still think thats a very reasonable amount of time to be able to go home, find your coupon, and bring it back to Target. If you know you're going to be too busy to make a 5 minute stop sometime in the next 10 days, then don't buy the item. And again, I don't think its right for people to be buying things and then using future coupons on the item.

Must be nice to have all that free time to run back and forth to Target. And no Target doesn't restock every night – sometimes they may not restock but once during the week depending on when they get a truck and if that item is on it or not. Here the Target I prefer, 12 miles away, is already out of the Bounty deal and don't get another truck until Wednesday night – and don't know if they will have any on it or not. So it's sometimes not that simple to just come back – especially if the currently available Q makes the item close to free, free, or is a money maker because all Target's in an area will sell out quickly (as what happened with the John Frieda products recently – every store in metro Atlanta was out within about 2 days).

I shopped at a different Target last night and had 3 coupons for Dove Men's products. Found some trial sized ones for .97. My coupons were for $1 each. The coupons did not say excluding trial size. The cashier said they do not take coupons for trial sized items. I know that my regular Target does. The young man at customer service also gave me this response. Has anyone else had this experience?

They tried that crap with me on the Aquafresh and I went all the way to a manager – and even explained to them that Walmart doesn't have this issue. They accepted the Qs then without a problem. Only one time did they adjust the Q from $1 to $0.97 because that was the actual price of the item – when I asked about the other $0.03 they were getting from the manuf and basically stealing from me I was told that was the way they had to do it (although no other Target gave me that trouble).

Man, Target must love you. From this thread alone, it sounds like you're in there everyday making a scene. Just because Walmart does something, why does that mean Target should do it as well? They are 2 **completely** different stores, with two different coupon policies. They don't adjust their coupons down, thats just the way it is. If you want to buy travel size items that are cheaper then the coupon, then go to Walmart since you say they'll do it.

What did you want them to do with the other .03 cents? Mark on the coupon that they'll only be needing 97 cents back from that coupon? And its not you that they'd be “stealing from” it would be the manufactures since they would be making a 3 cent profit from the coupon.

No actually I have a job so shop maybe once or twice a week if lucky. And I have been a loyal Target customer for many years and shunned Walmart when I could. Yes they are two different stores – my IQ isn't so low I can't breathe without thinking it out loud. But they are competitors, direct competitors at that, in a very tight space. And some Target's don't adjust their Qs either – it's completely hit or miss even at the same store. And yes, that would be the honest thing to do – if they adjust a Q then they should note that. And it is tantamount to stealing from me – the manufacturer produced the Q for the public to purchase their product so if there's overage based on the purchase price of the item then that overage should apply elsewhere in the transaction. I went through the effort to collect/print the Q and make the trip to use it – the retailer isn't paying me to come in there especially if they are out of the way. So when the retailer keeps that overage they are not only getting that from me but then get the markup on the product purchased as well as the redemption/handling fee from the manufacturer when they submit the coupon.

Starting to wonder if you work in retail – you seem awfully quick to defend retailers poor customer service policies. Maybe you actually work for Target hence defending them?

I don't care if their competitor has a different policy – you know what it is. I have diffferent rules in my house than the parents down the street. That argue doesn't fly!

Actually they run a profitable business so they can return value to their shareholders – they don't care one bit about how many people they employ (and, in fact, I would bet money they do like every other business – hire as few people to do the job so as to keep labor costs as low as possible thus keeping as much money in the business as possible). If the goal of business was to just employ people we wouldn't have such a high unemployment rate and I would not have just gotten, at my job, my first raise in 3 years and haven't seen us hire anyone in quite some time (just the opposite we have let people go in two rounds of layoffs in that time). As a shareholder that's great – as a customer or employee that's horrible. There has to be a balance in there somewhere.

And no I don't make a scene – but I do expect them to abide by their policies from store to store and within the same store. Don't expect to be able to change the rules constantly – as a parent I'm quite certain you don't change your rules depending on your mood or who happens to be in your home at the time. And I also expect to be treated as a valued customer because without customers they have no business thus no value to return to shareholders. If you're polite and courteous and treat others as you want to be treated and they still respond negatively then yes I tend to get angry – because the attitude these days is unwarranted just because I'm using coupons or looking for the best deal I can for my dollar.

And that 3 cents adds up. Think about if they do that 30k times a month across all their stores and customers/transactions (and I'm using a low number)? That might be only $900 but over time, and when the amounts vary, that adds up to be a lot of money customers are, in essence, losing but the company is pocketing (because I know you don't REALLY expect them to refuse it from the manufacturer when they redeem the coupon right?).

The real question is how can anyone remain loyal to any company when that company specifically creates policies to discourage a class of customers from coming into their stores? Especially when the enforcement of those policies is spotty at best and aggressively rude at worst? What happened to the days when customer service was really number one? And if Publix can make it work for them, as a privately held company, why is it that publicly traded companies are too worried about profits and numbers that they can't make the same policies work for them? These are the real issues at hand – it's a matter of principle not just 3 pennies.

OH – and like I said above, I do happen to be a Target shareholder. My experiences in the last 6 months leave me concerned about Target as a company not to mention their financials, as reported, being at the expense of losing customers and customer loyalty in a space already having difficulty with retaining those two things.

I used to be an avid Target fan/shopper. Prior to couponing I was in the store constantly. Then I woke up and realized how overpriced they are on a lot of things. I still shop there from time to time for a really good deal or for a certain product I can only find there. I'm not in there nearly as much because they stopped treating me as a valued customer the moment I started using coupons. I'm sorry but if I want to be treated poorly, I can head to Hellmart. NO thank you! I think the point Chris & others are trying to make is that customers deserve respect and when we don't receive respect we move along to their competition. Retailers plan promotions and sales to draw customers into the store. If they don't plan to follow through with their promotions or price matching/adjusting then why advertise it to begin with? Would save everyone a lot of time if they'd be a little more consistent and trustworthy in their dealings with their customers.

Right – they have to provide proof of volume “if requested” but there is nothing specifying they have to provide volume of trial size. And I wonder if they have to provide sales volume or just purchase volume (from the manufacturer). They could just provide volume for the full size since the coupon doesn't specify. But it does specify $1 off but no redemption instructions about price adjustment if the product price is lower. I'm sure there are rules for redemption, and I would love to see them for a variety of products, but alas I have little free time these days (I'm sure it would be very educational to see what's done how).

But here's the real question: How many manufacturers that do business with Target are going to insist on seeing purchase volume information when they already know how many units they sold to Target (all varieties)? And how do we know if Target specifies the coupon was used on the trial size or not? I would assume they either don't volunteer that information or they don't really know unless they go back and research it (comb through the transactions for the coupon barcode and then count how many times it was used and what products that qualify from that manufacturer were in that transaction). I would be curious to know if they can mine their data that way.

In any case, something tells me they get the full $1 plus the 8 cents handling fee so are making 11 cents per Q. Not a lot to them I'm sure but I wouldn't sneeze at what it probably amounts to (lets use a wild number – 100k coupons per month across all stores – that amounts to $11k and I would certainly love to have that. How about just all coupons in general that have overage that was adjusted down – say 1M total Qs, across all stores, with 1 penny overage and 8 cents handling that amounts to $90k).

The target in duluth, ga has the new Milo's Kitichen Home-style dog treats on sale. the small bags (3.3oz or less) are 2.50 and the big (10oz or more) I believe were 12.99? I used the $1.50 off coupon found in today's paper (and last weeks I think), So it only cost $1.00!! but the best part is that when you buy it you get a $2 off target coupon. Combine that with the $2.00 Mfc and the sale, you could get a big bag for under $10. Petsmart has it advertised for way more even though they say it's a low price.

The actual Target ad states that 80% lean ground beef is $2.49 for a 1 lb. package. In small print it states that the ground beef is on sale for $2.29 in the meat dept. Where did you get the $1.99 price because I won't be able to get that with an ad stating it's otherwise.

I respectfully disagree with those who think stores should make allowances or adjustments because you buy something at regular price, before it comes on sale. And you expect them to go back and adjust your price to the sale price? Suck it up, buy some on sale so you have a small stock pile and don't have to buy at regular price again and move on. Same thing with getting coupon adjustments at a later date. How many times have you heard “I would use coupons but I forget to bring them.”? So make a note, remember your coupons and get your deals. If you forget your coupons, or you find coupons later that you could've used, too bad. Grow up and move on.

So are you saying that if you bought something on Friday, before you knew what was going to be in the ad next week, and then it went on sale on Sunday you wouldn't be upset? If that's the case then sounds like you're not worried about getting the most bang for your buck. I agree there are limits but if I bought something within a 30 day window and it goes on sale then I should be able to get that sale price – especially when I could just as easily return the items I bought and re-purchase them at the new price because the window for returns is 90 days. It makes no sense to have a return window 9 times longer than the adjustment window. But for $25 I'm willing to make a big deal out of it with Corporate because it is a recurring issue with Target (customer service and just general rudeness).

And I do agree with the coupons being forgotten – a couple of days is one thing but a few weeks is another. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances and there have to be allowances for that (based on the judgement of the CS staff) but if you do it and someone continually tries to do the same thing over and over then that's when the line has to be drawn for abuse. A one off issue? Come on – bite the bullet and provide good customer service. That's the only real way to differentiate yourself in today's market – customer service – because anyone can sell household products at low prices.

Also, people have to remember that many of the retailers advertise not only price matching but price adjustments as well. I generally don't do it as I don't get out often enough w/ health issues. The point is the store allows it, then why have an issue with it? *smh*

I just wanted to add that last week I purchased two tank tops from Target which nI hadn't worn yet. On Sunday, I see they are on sale for $8 (reg. $12.99). I took the tanks to customer service to do a price adjustment (4 days after purchase date) and they wouldn't do it. Therefore I returned them & rebought them on the spot. Why not simply adjust the price???

See!!! Even 4 days later! And this is supposedly within their policy of ten days for adjustments (the current ad or next ad). Target is just going downhill – a year or two ago they would have had no problem and would have been happy to make the adjustment. Now it takes bloodletting to get them to do anything or even act like they give a crap about anything. But as long as you have a receipt and just want to return it they just robot it through and send you on your way. Used to be such a fan and avid Target shopper/supporter. Now I dread going to their stores.

I've had women approach me in the grocery store when they see me with alot of coupons, and ask me questions, and I've had several say that they've watched the show and even taken classes on it, but just can't get the hang of it. So…I'm hoping that that will be the case with alot of people, they'll try it and get tired of it.

Agreed! I think a lot of ppl are missing that the show is for entertainment purposes. I've found a lot of ppl who ask me about it suddenly change their tune when they hear how much time I spend and that it can potentially be a lot of work (rewarding as it is). I say give it time and this will fall out of fashion and ppl will go back to their one or two coupons and be done. The real damage is what happens between now and then from policies enacted by retailers because of the few extremists – that is the future to consider.

Very true. Unfortunately so much damage has already been done that lots of retailers have already changed their policies or are in the process of changing them at this time. Once they are changed, we are stuck. What retailer in their right mind, would go back and change the policy when so many have taken advantage of it. That un-reality show makes me sick! Found out last week that one of the girls featured on the show was local to where we just moved from and that her episode was filmed at a store right down the street from where we lived, one we frequented. Also coming down the pipe is news that the CIC is really starting to crack down on any type of individual/company that sells coupons or inserts. This includes ebay listings too. Seems these days it is one thing after another.

Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO): BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). This could present some difficulties with stacking BOGO Qs but there aren't that many that come out. Otherwise it appears their policy is not changing for anything else.

Yes – I did that deal right at the beginning of June and plan on doing it again now with those exact same Qs (although I only have 2 of the manuf $1/1 Qs but a bunch of the $0.251 Qs). Your math is off though – at $10.49 each you'll pay $20.98 for 2 b4 Qs – $16.98 after Qs not including tax or the giftcard. Still a good deal when you factor in the free napkins at a $3+ value and the gift card leftover from the transaction.

If you decide to buy more than two then separate them into groups of two so you can use the gift card from one transaction on the next. That way you only have one gift card at the end and spend less OOP.Oh the extra soft I think are $1.77 or $1.97/ea.

That's the deal in this week's ad so I assume they come off automatically (like last week's deal on the Method products). But it is limited quantity and no rainchecks so you may want to check your ad and call your local store(s) to confirm they have the free item before making the trip.

Sure! That Catalina probably won't print at the front registers – every time I go through there it seems that none of those printers have any damn paper (at like 5 stores sadly). The one in the Pharmacy always does so it may pay to buy back there and see if that Q will print out. I'm not sure what will trigger it – maybe someone else on here knows (obviously I'm not a big Revlon user – personally I like Clinique products. No I'm not a drag queen but I do play one on TV – LOL).

You could also try Coupon Network since those are Catalinas too but I didn't see it on there tonight.

I have a general question i was hoping someone could answer! PLEASE!
Enfamil is on sale this week for $20 in CVS and i had 4 enfamil checks
which i used toward the purchase of 1 formula yesterday. Then today i
got 4 $5 enfamil checks in the mail again. So I went in today and wanted
to use all 4 on 1 formula like i did yesterday. The lady was about to
scan them all through and then another old lady at the next register
walked over to her and said your not gonna let her use all of those are
you? You know you can only use one. I did'nt want to argue so i said i'd
like to cancel it and i took my checks back and left. I just wanted to
know if this is really true? Can you only use one check because i've
used more than one countless times before in target, babies r us, and
even that exact CVS! I just want to know what is right, so that i know

Generally it's usually been 1 per product purchased, but you can stack a store and manufacturer's coupons with them.

Personally with as much formula as I went through, it made more sense to get 4 cans for $15 then 1 can for $0, but maybe that's just me.

I have a question about the Target coupons that can be printed from their website. I printed three this morning and two of them printed out without the numbers associated with the bar code and without the number of items you have to purchase. Has anybody else had this happen? If so, will Target accept them? I would like to know before I make a trip over there.
