Right now on Amazon you can get a Presto Pop Lite Air Popper for $15 (reg. $29).  That in itself is a good deal, but to make it more fun I want to encourage you to think outside the box!

About 2 years ago my husband decided to take up the hobby of roasting his own coffee beans.  We couldn’t afford a coffee roaster so he did his homework and learned that an air pop corn popper works just fine.  We actually had an old one that we used (so no money to get started) but he was right it worked great!!

It is a bit of a process learning to roast your beans.  You have to learn the sounds that they make to know when they are done, but once you learn it you’ll never be able to go back to store bought coffee again.

You will also need green coffee beans, our go to site for those is Sweet Maria’s.  If you can’t decide what to get check out their sample packs.  They even sell “junk” beans just to help you learn how to roast properly.

One note: Once you use this to roast coffee you won’t want to use it for popcorn again.
