Who doesn’t love chocolate?? My husband keeps asking what I want for Christmas, and honestly if wrapped up a box of chocolate I’m content for the day.
One of the leaders in chocolate goodies is Fannie May, they opened their doors in Chicago in 1920 and are still serving quality chocolates. When ingredients were scarce during World War II, they didn’t even alter their recipes. They made their chocolates the same as they always had, even if it meant closing the store early because they ran out of merchandise. They were never willing to compromise on the quality of their candy – no matter the amount they sold!!

I love, love, Fannie Mae chocolate straight up. I would buy the single wrapped candy that looked like a Christmas package. I have moved out of the area to buy it. When my Mother would be in the hospital I would take up the single wrapped candy for the nurses. They would visit her room frequently to get the treat of that smooth chocolate candy. I miss it…. We have a family tradition in my house. Every year for Christmas we share a bag/box of chocolate covered cherries while we are opening one gift on Christmas eve. If I get the gift card I will be able to buy a box of Fannie May chocolate covered cherries and continue our tradition.

I’m originally from Chicago and I miss Fannie May so much that I will occasionally order a box of turtles for myself as a special treat! The problem is my hubby and kids want me to share!
I love any kind of dark or milk chocolate…just good chocolates! When I was younger, I lived out of the country for 3 months, and my mother traveled all the way to see me with a box of Fanny May chocolates for the precious family who hosted me while away from home…their daughter’s name was Fanny, and my mom figured that just made the perfect gift even better!

I LOVE FANNIE MAY! We used to live near Chicago and everyday after school,we would go in and select one piece of chocolate. When I had kids, we would go to the mall near our home and I would let each kid pick a piece. I was so sad when they closed the store in our area. I love the trinidads and truffles! My daughter loves the pixies and my son loves the toffee. Now we moved to Florida and we have no access unless we order the boxes, but nothing is like going into a Fannie May store!

Mint Meltaways are my absolute FAVORITE! It wouldn’t be Christmas without them. My MIL bought me a box last year, left it on the dining room table and her dog got them down and ate the entire box! (No worries, she was fine!) Even the dog has great taste in chocolate!

I fell in love with Fannie May Mint Meltaways when I lived in Chicago and miss them so much now that I am living in the South. I occasionally find one in a drug store and rejoice every time! The texture and flavor is like a little piece of heaven on earth!!
I grew up with Fannie May and absolutley love it! I miss walking through the malls and picking out one piece or going to the Fannie May stores and picking out all of our favorites for the hollidays!
