Great coupons this Sunday!!!!Especially the $2.50/1 Finish/Electrasol Quantum, Powerball Tabs or Gelpacs coupon. I will buying @ least 4 papers.

    • Vallery

No food? Guys, we are going to have lysol and purina this week for dinner…

    • Tammy

Do you know the expiration date on the Electrasol coupons?

    • Yeah, not too many coupons for food this week, oh well.

    • concerned

Publix east main street do not except the rite aid 5 dollars off a 25 dollar purchase, they said that rite aid is not an competitor, and the harvey coupon or walgreens, they said that the store do not sale enough grocery to be an competitor.

    • Katherine

I had the same experience at Publix in Greenville, SC. They told me they only take “traditional” coupons – whatever that means. I’ve emailed the Publix corporate headquarters asking for their coupon policy, but havent’ received a response. Does anyone know what the actual policy is?

    • Hey, Katherine, I had a similar problem. The cashier at the Pleasantburg Dr Publix told me Target’s not a supermarket. I think they only take supermarket coupons like Bi-lo or Ingles. I’ve heard the Pelham rd Publix is much better when it comes to coupons, but it’s much too far out for me. Hope that helps.

    • My Publix in Alpharetta, GA told me the same thing for the first time this week too. She said they would only accept Kroger! I came home in a state of shock, because I’d been using the rite-aid coupons forever! I’ll talk to the mgr on my next visit to see if they’ll still take Target coupons, because we have a huge new supertarget less than 2 miles down the road.

    • Katherine

Thanks for the responses. I’m sorry that you all are also being told they won’t accept the coupons.

    • Heather

My sister in law works at the publix in Easley and they have been told that the managers are getting very strict on the coupon policies. Within a couple of weeks they will no longer take any drugstore coupons. Nor will they take Food Lion, Target. The only compt. coupons they will accept will be grocery stores in the area. From what I understand it is up to each manager at the store.

    • marcie

when you get that info from a store about what they will or will not take its always best to call the corporate office, because most store managers only get away with that if no one say anything. you must give the store location so they can check in on them, wal-mart now take online coupons!!!!!!!!

    • Katie

I didnt get a smart source in my paper in Cumming Ga :( anyone else can varify if you did or didnt before I call to complain?

    • Katie

I called ajc complaining about smart source not being in the paper and got another paper delivered (for free)

We are visiting in the Washington DC area and I bought a Washington Post this morning for the coupons. I was shocked to see that there was no RP insert. The coupon inserts, as well as the Sunday store circulars, are enclosed in a sealed plastic bag and inserted into the newspaper. I checked to make sure I had the plastic bag and that it was sealed before I purchased the paper, so it was impossible for someone to have taken it out of the paper. I did a little research on line and discovered that effective in February of this year, the company that distributes Red Plum has stopped distribution via the major newspapers in quite a few markets, one of which is Washington DC! This may be something Jenny has posted before, but I discovered Southernsavers.com just a couple of months ago, so I was not aware of it as some others may not be. I certainly hope this is not a trend with this company. What would I do without Jenny, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution double packs and Publix! At least DC does have CVS….

    • Sherry M

I’ve only been looking at Southern Savers for a few days and have already saved a bundle. I love it. What did Jenny mean by “There will be lots of variations this week so be sure to get the biggest paper available to you.” at the top of this page? Biggest paper available means what? I live in Greenville SC and get the Greenville News, is this what she means? Thanks!

    • ET

Sherry, the coupons available in the inserts often vary by regions. Some of the coupons my friend receives in her SmartSource insert in her local newspaper in Florida may be different than what I receive in the Atlanta AJC. Additionlly, the larger the market, the bigger the inserts, typically. So if the Columbia newspaper, for example, offers more coupons than your Greenville Newspaper and you have access to it, buy it. Here in GA, couponers in Columbus will buy the Atlanta AJC if they can since it has more coupons than their local paper.
