apple sandwiches

Give your hungry little ones a fun and healthy snack when they get home from school with these open-faced apple sandwiches! They’re super easy and customizable.

Plus, it’d be really easy for your kids to help you make these. Go ahead and do the slicing and then your kids can top them with their favorite toppings.

Open-Faced Apple Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, cored and sliced horizontally (if you don't have a corer, simply slice the apples and then use a paring knife to cut the core out)
  • lemon juice (optional)
  • toppings of your choice: peanut butter, Nutella, granola, chocolate chips, candies, crushed cookies, etc.

Directions

  1. You can brush the apple slices with lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown (if you won't be eating them right away).
  2. Spread peanut butter or Nutella evenly on each slice (or whatever spread you'd like to use) and then sprinkle with your favorite toppings.
