I am assuming that Priano is a store brand?  Anyone have any opinion about the quality?

      • Nonnie Mouse

Tried several different varieties of Priano an Grandessa (their signature brand). Good to excellent quality.

        • guest

grandessa jam and pasta sauce is awesome

    • Philwalls200

I have bought Priano products the quality if no different from other brand names.  We like it, we use it and we compare the prices to WalMarts and others.  It basically saves you some money while providing good products.

Does Aldi take mfr coupons? I was under the impression they didn’t.

      • Dee

No, they do not take mfr coupons.  And remember to bring .25 for cart and your own bags.

        • ireneY

Completely off topic. We shopped at an Aldi’s in Germany and saw other shoppers put their checked-out item back into their carts and wheeled them out to their cars without bags. We were so fascinated, we sat in our cars and watched what happened next. They loaded everything into boxes in their trunk. Other shoppers did the same. The Germans have taken bag conservation to a whole new level! I just love visiting grocery stores in other countries to get a taste of everyday culture.

          • Blackvelvet49

That’s what Aldi’s in America does. They don’t give you bags unless you want to buy them. Most people opt not to buy them and do the same with loading directly in your car, brining your own boxes, or taking no longer used boxes out of the store.

            • ireneY

I think it’s great since I always bring reusable bags everywhere, but my sister-in-law is boycotting Ikea because they charge for bags, too. LOL!

    • Orchiddreams27

Aldi’s coupon policy… No coupons. And they double guarantee their products; replace & money back.

      • guest

they did replace mine but did not give me money back and he was rude about it. I bought 6 canned beans and they turned out to be baked beans which we do not eat.

    • Janice

We don’t like the strawberry or “deluxe” jams, they act “watered down”.
Also, the yogurts contain a lot of “bad ” ingredients that name brands don’t have- check the label before you buy.The tuna fish looked just like bumble bee, and matches my best “sale” price. The milk is RBHG free, and I had my family do a blind taste test against Publix milk (that has been our “standard”, tastes better the Kroger). Every single person said yep, that has to be the Publix, it tastes a little richer (my husband included “but the taste difference isn’t that much to not save the extra money”). And every single one of them had picked the $1.99 Aldi milk! LOL
The quality of their pizza isn’t as good as Costco, but not everyone has a Costco membership.
We thought the spaghetti sauce was really good.

A side note- the cashiers are timed, and are given the same amount of time for an order over $100 as they are for a $10 order. Therefore, your groceries are not exactly handled carefully (“thrown” would be appropriate). You need to have your canned goods at the front of the order and your TP, bread and bananas at the back.

A new Aldi is about to open in my town. Never shopped there before. I guess they don’t take coupons, so what’s good to shop for there?

      • Lisabluedevil

A new store opened in Durham, NC as well.  Produce is priced well and good quality. Everything I have seen is fresh – not organic, however.  Not sure where everyone is seeing $1.99 milk, but I haven’t seen it priced below $3.00 at our store.  Butter is $1.99 at our store and tastes good.  I’m planning to try the cheese this week.  I bought a cheap bag of store brand chips that I found too salty.

      •  Hey there,
Aldi’s does not accept coupons, but you can price match at other stores.  Aldi’s does, however, have lower average priced products.  The meat and produce are typically very reasonably priced.

    • Lisabluedevil

Anyone have feedback on Aldi wine.  Very inexpensive…good for cooking perhaps?

      • Allison

I’ve cooked with the Winking Owl Chardonnay – less than $3.00/bottle. I’ve also had the Cab for drinking and really enjoyed it.

      • Diane

The Chardonnay is pretty good, esp. for the price.

    • Guest

I shop there for staples that do not regularly go on sale- butter, milk, eggs, oil, beans, etc.  The prices and quality can not be matched.

    • Southside28704

just went to Aldis for the first time last week….. I gotta say I was really impressed. Their produce  is extemely fresh and priced much better than the supermarkets. Got 4 lbs of red seedless grapes for $4.00 AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS!  I went back yesterday for more. he coffee is also good. I will def be going back soon.
