My Walmart in Athens, GA says they don’t price match with Aldi.  She really couldn’t tell me why, just that their managers said so.  She asked one of the managers again in front of me and he said no, and walked away.  Another reason why I shop with them less and less…

      • Jonie

Did this happen at the Wal-Mart on Epps Bridge or at the one on East Side? I have completely stopped going to the one on Epps Bridge.  They have given me nothing, but problems.

      • Has to be the same item, and advertised. It’s very rare for an item at Aldi to be a brand Walmart carries. It’s even more rare for the item to be advertised.

        • guest

Produce should be price-matched, as well as a national brand that is on a current special at Aldi (such as the old el paso items in the new ad) and If you don’t receive an ad in your mail/newspaper each week, they do have them in the Aldi stores

    • Haley554

Wow, those are great prices. I wish we had an Aldi here in Jacksonville!

    • Mandy

How do you price match without an ad?

      • Sarah

You don’t need an ad at Walmart.  Says so in their policy.

    • Godizmine95

Does Aldi take coupons?  I shop there all the time but have never tried to use a coupon, their prices are sometimes so much lower than other stores that even with a Q the price is cheaper.

      • 1bigsaver

        No they don’t

    • Sosorozo

I LOVE Aldi’s produce. Last week bella mushrooms were on sale and we had mushroom lasagna, mushroom quiche, mushrooms with breadcrumbs, mushrooms with pearl onions, veal marsala with mushrooms, and chicken soup with mushrooms. YUM!

    • Nice! didn’t know you were doing Aldi, now.  :)  Love it–they have the best prices on everyday stuff…and all the store brand things I’ve tried have been just fine. Produce prices can’t be beat, but use it quick—like Walmart’s produce, it doesn’t keep for very long.

    • Mrscori2006

I LOVE Aldi! I stopped couponing and started shopping there and I have saved so much money. Now I only use coupons for special items every now and then.
You can’t beat Aldi’s prices and since it’s just me and my husband (no kids) Aldi’s brand is very good quality for anyone who’s wondering.

      • I am like you. I do the majority of our grocery shopping at Aldi and then coupon for other items – usually when they are at rock bottom prices. I have been able to keep our budget around $150 per month for 2 adults and 1 child plus I am pregnant. It is awesome!

      • Mark

For milk, eggs, and some of their produce when they go on super sales ( like $0.69 for 2 lbs of onions of 8oz of baby portabelo mushrooms) Aldi is the place to go.  On just about everything else, their prices are really not much different from other low priced grocery stores.
I just stock up when items I want are on sale and always pay less (even without coupons) than I would have if I had shopped at Aldi.
Of course every person has differfent shopping and eating habbits, so no one style is going to fit everyone.

My walmart in ohio told me the other day, that they don’t price match Aldi because it is an outlet store. Mmmm. Didn’t know that one.

      •  Hey there,
That’s interesting.  My understanding is that you can price match at Wal-Mart, I wonder if that problem is specific to certain stores because I’ve certainly heard no change from Wal-Mart.

    • jj jayne

      our aldi’s doesnt take coupons

      • Ed In Ncarolina

         NO Aldi’s take coupons.

      •  Hey there,
I match coupons to the sale if you wish to price match with Wal-Mart.  Sorry if that causes confusion!

    • Allison

Hi Jenny, I just wanted to check about something. A few other sites have listed totally different produce deals for this sale week. Are the produce deals regional?

      •  Hey there,
That’s possible.  I’m getting prices for the south, I know GA and SC prices are going to be the same, but there may be differences elsewhere.

        • CChamblee

I was there today at our NEW Aldi (yay) in Pelham, AL and the cauliflower was 25 cents a head and lemons were 99 cents a bag.  I got 3 BIG green bell peppers for 79 cents.  I almost did a happy dance in the store…lol

      • Ed In Ncarolina

The Aldi in High Point has white mushrooms at 59 cents, and still has last week’s price of 69 cents for baby portabellas. Since these are considered a meat substitute, looks like it’s time to try those portabella burgers I saw on the internet.

Aldi had Strawberries for $.79 a container yesterday, canetelopes for $.99 and pineapple for $.99.  A pint of blueberries were $2.69.  There are some great produce sales this week. I live in the Atlanta area.
