Hi, I am a relatively new shopper at Aldi. They were never in our area. We are getting the Southeastern Regional warehouse and a store in front of it all within the next year. Aldi is opening stores all over our county. I recognize the fruits and veggies as an incredible value. I’m not so good at spotting other really good deals since they aren’t name brands. Any suggestions???? Thanks so much.

I’ve found that Aldi products are much better than most name brands in terms of both quality and flavor. In addition, most of their products don’t include as many of the chemicals and additives I’ve come to expect from Kraft and the other major brands.

I have found most of their canned, boxed, dairy products, and bakery items to be very good. I’ve used very little of their meat and luncheon meat. I’ve been disappointed only in the canned tuna, raisin bran, and powdered sugar. When our store first opened I bought some ice cream that was poor quality but I think there was a problem with the freezer. Sometimes the produce is too mature or immature but usually it is good and a great value. You’ll love it!

I love shopping at Aldi! I don’t think I’ve been disappointed with anything there. Lots of their daily prices are the “couponing” price without clipping coupons or time spent watching for sales.
The produce will almost always ripen after buying it, so green stuff is fine to buy. If it doesn’t, take it back and get a full refund, or a double refund for the boxed or canned items (there’s a double refund label on each one).
The only thing to note is that their eggs are a lot fresher than at other stores (they probably sell faster than regular stores), so they’re not great for boiling unless you wait 3-5 days after buying them.
