Hey, anyone tried Aldi’s fresh chicken before? I’m thinking about getting the $.99 thighs for grilling (listed as “chicken things” above!) I’ve tried their frozen salmon and didn’t like it at all. The color was beige, the texture was mushy and smelled a little like plastic.

      • Imaprincess09

Almost AALLLL the chicken I EVER use is Aldi chicken!!! Occasionally Bilo or Kroger has chicken breasts at $1.99, and thighs etc, also lower priced, but never lower than Aldi’s lowest. Rarely do they even come close to Aldi’s regular chicken prices.

Hint: Every few weeks Aldi’s has their fresh chicken breast for $1.69/lb, family packs. I never, ever buy enough :(

I’ve absolutely never had any issue with their chicken not tasting fresh.

I did not think that Aldi took coupons.  Has that changed?

      • JTTLC

Ok read back over it and I realized that the coupons were to be used at other stores…sorry!

I got ground sirloin, different steaks, pork ribs, and other at $2 and $4 off each package. This was only my second trip there, and I AM HOOKED!!

They said they had an overstock and that this extra special deal on meal was rare…no pun intended…so I stocked my chest freezer with the deals and my normal meat purchases for only $130…and I mean full!!!!

We ate some of the round sirloin and some of the eye round steak I got for cheap (ground sirloin about $1.73 per lb after red tag discount) and it was good.

All the meat was in date…they just had too much!!!

Any other advice for a new Aldi shopper? I plan to go every two weeks. I have to drive about 45 min to get there…but it’s worth it from what I can tell so far.

I filled two grocery carts to the top for only $250. Has that been your experience?
