These books were a staple at our house. With five daughters in the house, these books got much wear. We also watched a series of Anne of Green Gables shows on PBS. This post reminded me to locate these books in storage for my granddaughters. Thanks Jenny!

      thanks!

After I purchased the book, Amazon sent me a promotional credit to purchase additional select books for $0.99.

Can you believe I’ve never read any of these? What age would they be appropriate for? I have an 8 year old and a 6 year old.

      • Meme007

Well, I’m a little old-fashioned but I enjoyed these books as an adult. These books are great for any age. Read them with your children so that you can explain any nuance they may not understand about yesteryears. If they have an older person in their lives they would also enjoy sharing these stories. Form a mini bookclub.

Just looked at the date that my Anne of Green Gables book was printed. 1908 ! It’s falling apart .A friend of my mother gave me her copies of the first 6 books in the series when I was 12 years old. I had dreams of seeing the house on Prince Edward Island but never did so. The tour is apparently very popular with young female Japanese tourists .

I have been there 3 times (I live in CT) and love Green Gables and PEI. I read the books when I was young and had always wanted to visit PEI. If you have a chance to go there, I recommend the trip :)

We have always loved Anne, but I did not find it for free. It was $.99, of course still not bad! :-) thanks for sharing the deal.

I got it for free, plus I got a $.99 credit to my account for downloading it.

    • Thank you so much for sending this out!! I didn’t see the email on ‘free’ day, but I was able to get the entire set for only 99 cents!! Still a great deal and thank you again for your hard work!!

      • I agree! I bought it a couple of months ago when it was 99¢. Worth every penny!

I, too, saw the 99 cent deal. However, that is still a great price for such a classic collection.
