Tonight at 9 pm est, Amazon is going to have a lightning sale on Britax Boulevard Car Seat.

These are really great car seats, so if you are in need of one this will be a great sale to check out. They are also eligible for free super saving shipping or free two day shipping with Amazon Prime or Amazon Mom.

(thanks Jennifer!)

      9pm est?

    • Lovelivelaugh716

I do not see them on there.. How do you find them? Please let me know.. I need 3 carseats! One for my car, one for the hubby, and one for my sister (she babysits my son).. Thank you!!! <3<3 && what is amazon mom??

      • Click on the link on the post and then click on 6pm PST. All it says at this point is upcoming deal but when it is live it will show the price & info.

      • Kristin

Amazon mom is awesome! It's a free membership and you get deals and free shipping (not to mention a free Amazon Prime membership) on things that you need all the time. I use it for diapers and wipes and I save 30% on them each time I order them — plus they get shipped to my house automatically and I don't have to worry about forgetting them and needing more diapers in the middle of the night. I'd suggest checking it out. I highly recommend it! I feel like I should get kick backs for all the people I've introduced to it!! :)

        • Lovelivelaugh716

How do I sign up for amazon mom?

          • Kristin

Just go to amazon and search for amazon mom — it will lead you to it!

    • Mommysauls

I wonder how much these are going to be??

    • sarahinNC

      What is a “lightning deal”?

    • Tyandbec

We have this seat and love it!

    • Megan_A

This is a great seat. It's really easy to install and has a long enough shell to allow kids to rear-face for quite a while. Our 2.5 y/o is still rear-facing in hers with room to grow.

      • Tisha

This is totaly off the subject, but I was wondering why your daughter is still rear facing? I thought you could turn them around when they were one? Are there new reguations?

        • Dianne

An excellent explanation of why rear-facing is preferable can be found at http://www.car-safety.org/rearface.html.

And, for those with older children considering the move from a 5-pt seat into a booster seat, please take the time to look at the video at the top of the page on http://www.kyledavidmiller.org

Also, pass these suggestions on to others you know who drive with little ones in their cars. OK – I’ll get off my “soapbox” now.

Last I heard from our Pediatrician, regulations are the same but they stress rear facing as long as possible now to prevent neck injuries in an accident.

        • 1stTimeSAHM

I know several people who have kept their children rearfacing until the weight or height reaches a certain point (sorry, I don't know the stats). It has nothing to do with age to several people. Studies show that rearfacing is the most safe way for children to ride….

        • jennifer

Just thought I'd add my two cents since I have developed such an opinion on the matter. I kept my first son rear-facing until almost 18 months even though he was in the 95th percentile for height/weight and it wasn't like I wasn't “able” to turn him around sooner. I had heard it was safer.

When my second son came around, I was turned on to some startling videos on YouTube and I kept him rearfacing until he was just over 2 years old and he was almost at the rearfacing weight limit for the seat.

You should check out on YouTube.. Just search for “importance of rear facing” It changed the way I thought about carseats and I wish my boys were still rearfacing!

          • jennifer

I should also add, we have Britax Boulevard, Frontier and Roundabout (as well as a Sunshine Kids Radian…and a cheap Cosco seat for traveling) and the Britax seats are wonderful. Easy to install and solid. Love those seats.

        • Megan_A

Rear facing is 5 times safer than forward facing. Forward facing kids are at risk for internal decapitation in a crash since their spinal columns haven't fused yet. Rear facing also provides a lot of side impact protection that you lose if the kids are facing forward. Our 4.5 y/o was rear facing in a Sunshine Kids Radian until a few weeks ago when we had to turn her around so that we would have room to install an infant carrier for baby #3 who's due next week.

    • Mslauger

I am very interested in this deal but seem to remember some of the Britax carseats being recalled recentsly…Am I wrong???Please tell me I am because I really need to take advantage of this deal adn purrrchase 3 of them:)

      • Megan_A

The most recent big car seat recall was on the Evenflo Maestro. The Britax seats haven't had any big recalls lately. It's a great seat choice. Keep in mind, though, that even though this seat is rated down to 5 pounds, it won't actually fit a newborn. The straps need to be at or below the baby's shoulders for rear facing (but at or above for forward facing, which in this seat will be a while. Our 2.5 y/o still rear faces in hers.). Most babies won't be long enough in the torso for this seat until 6-12 months. Also, Britax changed the design of its seats in 2010. It looks like these will be the old design. The old design is great. I actually prefer it, but it means that these will have fairly early manufacturing dates. Britax seats expire and must be thrown away six years after their mfg. dates, so you may only have 4.5-5.5 years of use left with these.

        • Mslauger

Thank you so much this was incredibly helpful and I appreciate you taking time to respond.

      • Amanda

the Britax recall was on the chaperone infant car seat. The recalled some of them for the chest clip breaking…parents were told to temporarily use the seat without the chest clip (Britax allows this) and they sent out replacements.

        • Mslauger

Thank you so much! I am stressing over this just want to make a great choice.

      • Lisa

I brought my Britax car seat to be “installed” at the Britax factory in Charlotte. I asked them about recalls and they haven’t been recalled. I LOVE my carseat.

    • Reba

What's a really good price for one of these? I will need two (one for each car), but am debating on getting two exactly the same OR one cheaper one for the car used less often. Any advice??

      • Emilygeygan

These are around 200 easily. We were looking at them years ago and went with the Safe Voyage that is no longer made but was made by britax. We then bought a Cosco Scenera for 50 bucks because ther were great safety reviews and it was cheap. The straps twisted some when the kids were little (infants) but for some reason that magically hasn't been a problem since 13mos on. So I wouldn't have a problem with a cheap seat in a car used left often but then again, we were going to upgrade to a britax and kept the scenera.

    • jackie

yah, i would like to know a good price too, since i need 4, two for each car, since we have twins. they re ready for front facing in a couple months.

      • Tana

You can order these online at other places (just google Britax Boulevard) for around $200 or a little more, as long as you do not care about the color. I don't know what the Amazon price will be. Since I live in a state with sales tax – online with no tax made a big difference.
As far as the seats go – I cannot recommend these Britax car seats enough! I have 6 year old twins that STILL sit in these – I offered for them to move to boosters, but they like their car seats better and refused. I bought 4 seats also, around $800 and do not regret it a bit. The seats are EXTREMELY easy to install (i cannot overstress the importance of this), very comfortable for the kids, and the head wings are wonderful for them when they are sleeping – no poor little heads flopping to the side all contorted. I have had less expensive car seats, and the amenities on these are well worth the extra money. Just make sure that they fit in your car, they are pretty big. We have a minivan so no problems, but if you have any other kids in car seats (I also have a 3 year old so we still have all in car seats), you will have a problem fitting them in something like a sedan.

    • AllRusty

yay! exactly what I was wanting to spend Christmas money on!

    • Erin Masters

      What is a lightning sale?

    • Tasha

I have always wanted a Britax, but they are never on sale when we have the money. Looks like I’ll have to pass this one up as well.

I just wanted to second what someone said about going on YouTube and looking up the videos. If you watch the ones with crash test dummies, you’ll see the importance of keeping your kids rear-facing as long as possible, as well as keeping them harnessed forward-facing as long as possible. I was so excited when my oldest hit 40 lbs and I was able to yank out the harness straps and start using the seat belt. A friend linked me to some videos, and I went online that same night and ordered a seat that would keep him harnessed longer. My kids are big for their age in height, so I always have to move them to the next stage before I’m ready, although it’s always much later than the law says is necessary.

For the rear-facing, the thing that sold me was watching the crash test dummies’ heads fly forward and how far the neck stretches. And the mention that a crash can cause them to have their head internally seperate from their body! That’s scary.

For those of you needing more than one, be aware that the Amazon Lightning Deals T&C states they are “available one per customer”…better get the grandmas involved in purchasing the others for ya. :P

    • Srearls0710

I have 2 of the Britax carseats (1 is a marathon and the other is a blvd) and I absolutely love them and wouldn't use anything else. I hope it's a great deal for everyone!

    • Sarah

We have a Britax Marathon in the Cowmooflauge print and LOVE it! We bought a cheaper seat (evenflo) for my husband's car and the Britax is a MILLION times nicer! We'll never buy anything else if we have more kids!

    • Lebuff

      What is a lightning sale?

    • 1stTimeSAHM

If you click on the deal (6:00pst) it shows Britax Boulevard, but no price yet….we have slow internet, so I hope I am able to get one if it's a good deal! Good luck to all looking!

    • Cdesilets

Just remember Albee Bbay has it for 189 with free shipping, so make sure to compare. When they did a lightning deal during the Christmas season for this car seat It only went to $225, couldn't beat the Albee deal.

      • Holly

It's 218.00 on that web site right now.

        • Cdesilets

depends on which color you're looking at. Moonstone is 189.

      • 1stTimeSAHM

I was about to put the same thing!! Thanks for looking out for all of us to make sure we get a good deal :)

    • Ann

Not a great deal it seems. $232.98 – Albee Baby has same carseat for $198, also free shipping!

    • moneysaved4disney

      and it sold out already!

      • Lisa

It is actually cheaper on albee baby. So, don't worry!

        • Mslauger

I bought one on amazon and then realized the one on albee was cheaper so I bought a second one there…I am glad I got the design offered on amazon for the price for one of the kids but the moonstone design is great too!!! Definitely check out Albee anyone who did not get the deal. Thank you for posting!!

    • Mommysauls

198.00 and already sold out ..

    • Erin

this deal started at 9 p.m… it was over by 9:02 : (

    • Clarar60

      Did anyone get it?

      • Mslauger

I just replied to Lisa, I think :) I did get it. Sat and waited all night in anticipation lol and then realized it was cheaper at the albee baby site…Oh well, live and learn and I still got a deal just not the best out there tonight. If you are looking you should definitely check out albeebaby,com..They walso had other designs (some aren't as cheap, but if you have a specific design in mind and want to pay extra for the design it might be worth it to you).

    • KNW

I added a car seat to my cart and then checked out albee baby. I liked the gray color at albee baby better than the tan color on amazon, and it was only $1.99 more, so I ended up buying it at albee baby instead. $199.99 for a Britax is a great price!

    • Klandry84

I got one thanks I was looking for one for my little girl. I am happy I got it.

    • Kristin

I had $60 in gift cards so this was a great deal for us!
